Legs, Bums and Tums
I tried Michelle’s Legs, Bums and Tums class in the morning and absolutely loved it — she’s amazing! I’d really love to see more evening classes like this, especially strength-focused classes for women. For those of us working during the day, there aren’t many great options after 7pm, so having more evening sessions would make such a difference!

Please sort out swimming showers
Please sort out swimming showers , they are horrible each time you go there is new problem ,so many issues we faced since here no water, too much water , broken shower , cold water , dirty stinky showers, hardly ever cleaned even if they are cleaning there is no way so say its actually clean , it stinks forever ! Hair dryers work once in a month . They come n fix n seems there is more damage . please make new cubicles and work on daily cleaning . There is no issue with swimming teachers they are all doing brilliant job they are super friendly, always kind and helpful 👏

Dreadful!!
Dreadful!!! Staff at the centre have no idea what they are doing. Even if a trainer cancels with notice they can't find cover, Customer Service is convoluted and slow. Also trying to cancel the subscription is designed in a way to make you pay an extra month. With so many branches they should be at the top of their game. Poor, poor, poor.

We work hard to ensure that all our classes are fully staffed and available; however, sometimes this is not always possible.
In the event of any changes, we aim to contact customers via email with enough time before their session starts, and we apologise if this has not always been consistent.
We understand that last-minute cancellations can be frustrating, and we want you to know that we do our best to prevent these situations, but sometimes they are unavoidable.
The cancellation process is also 20 days, and details of this can be found on the website, in our terms and conditions or through the App.
I hope this helps, and if you need further assistance, please let us know.

Staff is friendly, refurbished leisure centre
Staff is friendly and helpful. The services are clunky with the app especially if u have kids booked into sessions as well as yourself. Son goes junior gym and is happy with facilities. Luckily he can book himself via his phone. Very good monthly price and availability.

Price Increase!! I’m extremely disappointed with the way…
I’m extremely disappointed with the way Atherton Leisure Centre has handled both its pricing and customer concerns.
The centre has increased its prices again, despite having already done so in April last year 2025 — meaning it hasn’t even been a full year. What’s most frustrating is the scale of these increases. This isn’t a small adjustment of £1–£2; the hikes are significant and feel completely out of touch, especially during a time when the cost of living is already so high and wages are not keeping up. From paying £13.50 to £17.50 now £19.50 in less than a year is ridiculous!!!!
I raised a formal complaint about this, but it was completely disregarded. Even after escalating the issue and involving management, there was no real effort to listen or find a solution. Every concern I brought forward was met with the same response — defensive explanations and no willingness to make any changes.
One reasonable suggestion I made was to extend the children’s sessions slightly — even by 10 minutes. Currently, sessions are only 30 minutes long, yet the price has now risen to £19.50 per child, per session, once a week. For what is not a premium or highly specialised coaching programme, this pricing feels excessive and unjustified.
Unfortunately, the response I received was dismissive. I was essentially told nothing could be done, with no attempt to address the concerns or meet customers halfway.
What makes this even more frustrating is that, as a local parent, I feel I have very limited choice. This is the only nearby leisure centre, and I want my children to learn to swim, so I feel stuck paying these prices despite being unhappy with the service.
Overall, I’m very dissatisfied with both the pricing approach and the way customer concerns are handled. It feels like customers are being ignored rather than valued.

We informed you that you were already on a discounted rate and in addition you do have access to swimming outside of your lessons, which you were unaware of.

The showers sometimes smell of urine. The showers were cold on a couple of days. The staff however nice, kind co- operative with my needs.
