The spa area needs some shower head…
The spa area needs some shower head point,to be able to wash seats off other people sweat,inside steam room and outside in resting area ,clean the area more frequently would improve the quality of the service ,also new sistem of pre booking does not work properly,the result is extra charge if cancelling too late or simply because at the entrance the machine doesn’t read the bar code ,happened yesterday!

A mixed bag of staff
Swiss Cottage - Justina was an amazing worker so helpful and patience. One of the swim teachers was very rude and aggressive me with ADHD child who asked him a why question his response was “you do what I say” I instantly made a complaint and thank goodness haven’t seen him back. What happened to all the extra free swim time for children. I really want to practice extra swimming but the pool is only open for family swim 2x a week for 2 hours doesn’t make sense.

Lazy river.... While swimming, I find a lot of people just standing in the pool, talking, or swimming side by side, sometimes up to 3 people next to each other blocking up the lanes

I'm conflicted by my review
I'm conflicted by my review, SOME of the staff are absolutely awful , brusk but cliquey with regulars , the biggest bugbear and a dangerous one is the swimmers in inappropriate lanes ,a prime example was today , I swim in the medium speed lane and one swimmer was so slow that people in the slow lane next to ours were going faster than he was , I've complained about this on numerous occasions and I'm told (clearly BS) that staff will be spoken to ,to be more pro active in sorting it out and today two staff were standing by the pool and saw that I and a few others were trying g to get past this slow swimmer ... and guess what ? Did sweet FA , it may take an accident or a law suit for the staff to sort this issue out

I was really enjoying this leisure…
I was really enjoying this leisure centre until my experience today. I found out about a lady who brings along her son to her swimming lessons. She brought her son to the women's changing room. I found out she always brings him along and it's very surprising how none of the staff stopped her. I saw him holding up a phone and I pray that he was not filming anybody. This is a very serious issue that I feel the staff had failed to stop. I had to inform a front desk staff today and I really hope this nonsense comes to and end. The staff don't seem to care about this issue. I heard she always takes him to the women's changing room. This boy is probably 6-7.

This is a great place for all ages with…
This is a great place for all ages with a soft play area, gym, pools and studios. The gym is excellent and reasonably quiet in the daytime. My only complaints are the miserably cold pool temperature and the lack of cleaning in the lower ground ladies changing room. It’s not a pleasure to swim here, more a chore to get through as quickly as possible which is such a shame as the pool is is a great size. The pool showers are cold too which means few people shower before entering the pool. I must add now that the excellent response to this review gives me hope of an improvement.

'Better' Gym Swiss Cottage Leisure / freezing cold water in the women's shower every morning
Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre: Every week it is the same problem. DESPITE COMPLAINING CONTINUOUSLY OVER YEARS, ABOUT THE LACK OF HOT OR EVEN WARM WATER, (ONLY FREEZING COLD WATER), IN THE UPSTAIRS WOMEN'S SHOWERS IN THE MORNINGS, NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT.
IT IS EVEN WORSE ON A SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WHEN MOST FEE-PAYING MEMBERS USE THE GYM.
Despite telling them every time, the staff say, "Yes, we will report it". But, persistently, in the morning, the female upstairs showers are cold. Despite standing naked in the freezing cold waiting for the water to heat up, the water does not heat up till hours later in the day.
Staff say that Heating Engineers are called on a regular basis and 'allegedly' fix the problem.
It seems that Better Head Office are giving contracts to Heating Engineering companies who are on a 'gravy train' because the contractor comes every few weeks, 'tweaks' the problem, knowing that by NOT doing the job properly, they will be called back again and again, at great cost to the Leisure Centre company, to fix the same issue, over and over.
It is the users of the Gym who have to pay by the exponentially rising fees every year.
Even for pensioners, the fees were increased massively again this April.
It also implies that someone at 'Better' Management Head Office or in the Procurement Dept. must be getting a covert 'financial back-hander' to keep the same, useless contractor on the 'books'.
In the business world, if a contractor does not do a job properly the first time, they are not called back again and a new contractor, who is capable of fixing the problem for once and for all, is employed,
If a contractor is called back, again and again to do the same repair, it means that some one in the chain of management or in the Procurement Dept. must be profiting from keeping the useless contractor on the job.
'Better' at Swiss Cottage are raking in a load of new money from the recent 'children's adventure soft play' area that has been installed, so it's not like 'Better' cannot afford to pay for a contractor 'worth their salt' who will fix the problem of no hot water in the women's showers upstairs in the morning, at Swiss Cottage.
It's been a problem for years and despite being told, 'Better' are ignoring the on-going problem.
The whole situation is a disgrace, considering the fees that members pay.
Hot water is a basic need in a Leisure Centre and 'Better' despite all their huffing and puffing of what a great service they are providing , declaring themselves to be a 'charity' are making a tidy profit but, not providing the basics. RUBBISH SERVICE

Great gym
First week at better, currently loving it.
Only downside is that the sauna/steam rooms have a slight smell of urine.
It’s also hard to find where classes are.

I would like to put 5 stars for Power pump class with Graciela. She is absolutely amazing and very professional. Each her class is different and well organized, she is explaining every exercise and gives us lots of good energy. I attend the gym only once a week, and I can see big improvement in my body just with one class with Graciela. I would highly recommend her to everyone. Thank you so much for your incredible work!

Water aerobics with Magda is wonderful. You always feel like you’ve had a really good workout. Magda is a positive and engaging personality who is totally committed. I’ve been coming to her classes for years and I hope to continue for many more!

Classes are excellent- The classes I go to Power Pump
The classes I go to Power Pump, HIIT With coach Antje were an excellent way for me to start journey in getting fit. The style of class means strength and cardio plus variety and challenges to stretch ability has meant I have built my fitness levels and can achieve so much more. I am motivated and I like that we have regulars as well as returning and new participants each week. I leave the class feeling good after cardio and happy I am working towards building my core tummy muscles. The coach does all the exercises with the class and I find this really helps with motivation and pacing. I also have found the Yoga classes with Richard and Tania and important part of my developing my fitness and being part of class that is well paced well narrated and has helped with building my core muscles. All the teachers in the class are relaxed and I think provide welcoming and thoughtfulness in their teaching. I’m glad the sauna seating was fixed and there could be some maintenance to stop the drain/ could water smell in outside seating area of the sauna and steam rooms. Centre staff are helpful and considerate. But the classes really are excellent for getting fit and being social but focussed with great teachers so 5 stars for the coaches.

Zumba instructor Germany lady Antje who has so much passion for what she teaches, full up energy, all the time sunny positive beautiful face, never late for her classes, actually normally she arrives 10 or 15 minutes early. I feel lucky I can learning dance from her. I don’t want to miss even 1 class which I could go. So enjoyable! You feel life is so much happiness made it. Thank you. Amazing lady! Amazing Antje!

I love this leisure centre
I love this leisure centre always a lovely friendly welcome by staff when you enter an amazing cafe restaurant that serves delicious food and gorgeous coffee great facilities a fully equipped gym and a fabulous selection of fitness classes especially Nicole’s fitness classes I just love her Spin and Combat classes they are truly fantastic fun energetic and made a huge difference to my fitness I can see improvements to my health and physique since starting her classes and would honestly do every single one of her classes if I could she is such an inspirational instructor thank you Nicole for being such a superstar
