If I could give less than 1 star I would!. I held a swim party there yesterday for my daughter’s 8th birthday. To arrive and staff not be aware of us the party room not set up and strangers to get into the pool 16 minutes before the end of our time absolute joke of a place. I would not recommend

It’s very disappointing to learn that your swim party booking was not properly prepared, that the party room wasn’t set up on arrival, and that there were issues with other users accessing the pool during your allocated time. This is far from the standard we aim to deliver, and we completely understand how this would have impacted your daughter’s birthday celebration.

Im not happy with the changing rooms…
Im not happy with the changing rooms being closed, after having a gym session i tend to like having a shower afterwards, im sure you could understand for the price of the membership these facilities should be a standard access. I personally feel a slight discount should be given for the inconvenience.

I send my children here for swimming…
I send my children here for swimming lessons, and while the staff are always helpful and approachable if you raise an issue, the cleanliness standards in the changing and pool areas are really concerning.
I have attended around six times now, and the standard has been the same each week, so this does not appear to be a one-off issue.
The toilets are often dirty, smell strongly of urine, and there is not always toilet paper available. The smell is so unpleasant that my 6 year old son hold his nose when he goes into the bathroom, and even my 4 year-old has said they don't not want to use the toilets there. Other parents have also commented that the facilities are often at this standard.
The poolside area also does not appear to be cleaned frequently enough, especially during busy periods. When I went to watch my child’s lesson, there were old plasters and visible dirt on the floor near the pool. It does not give the impression that regular cleaning checks are taking place throughout the day.
My son has also developed a verruca since attending, and while I appreciate these can be picked up in swimming environments generally, the overall cleanliness standards do not give me confidence.
The swimming lessons and staff are great, but the changing rooms, toilets and poolside areas need more frequent cleaning, particularly during busy swimming lesson periods when lots of young children are using the facilities.

A Better Lifestyle at Thame Leisure Center
I ve started to come at Thame Leisure Center since October 2024, regularly. From Thame downtown to the Leisure center is a 10 min walking.
The staff is generally very nice and friendly. They provide all information requested. Their manager Alex is absolutely one of the best manager in field. When I ve informed him about some issues regarding the cleaning in the upper gym hall, he immediately sent staff to clean the area. Generally, the cleaning is pretty good. I ve noticed that a lot of people in the range 60-85 yo are regular to this Leisure center. I can work with different gym equipments and machines, like Techogym brand which I like very much. My physical and mental condition was very much improved in the last 9 months. My personal workout achievements provided a better self-confidence and wellbeing.Today all the people in the gym hall got a present/a Better gym bag, a towel, a bottle, a Keychain/ from Better Thame management which was a very happy surprise 💖💖💖 Definitely, the Leisure Center Better Thame is a place where you have to go in order to positively change your life style abd improve your physical and mental wellbeing!

Great, reasonably priced facility
Clean, not over crowded, helpful gym instructor. Only thing that would make it better would be a complete induction with a written programme at the end of it

I’ve only joined at the moment my membership is pending I’m a senior and sent my drivers license. I’m dyslexic so I think if I’ve read everything correctly I can’t use the gym until everything is clear for me to do so. Many thanks Nigel Crowther

The equipment and centre itself is…
The equipment and centre itself is great. The majority of the staff have been very helpful and friendly too.
Unfortunately the toilets in the women’s changing are always a bit dirty and one of your employees on the till was very rude and made me feel extremely embarrassed in front of other customers.
