Great service today. Went in looking for a jacket and had brilliant advice and service from James. He asked what I needed my jacket to do, what my budget was and any other considerations. He picked a selection based on this and then took me through the technical features of each item. He was even able to get it in on budget too! Thank you

Top notch experience simply due to the best customer service you could ask for. I came in looking for hiking boots without knowing a thing on the subject, and Jake gave me the complete rundown on everything I needed to know to make the right purchase for my specific needs. Cannot understate how much I appreciated his help and how comfortable I am with my purchase because of him. Thanks Jake!

Ollie @Blacks Bristol….. what a guy!! He really knows his technical stuff, was able to easily help navigate to the right kind of boot (Meindl Respond Mid II GTX), he even questioned if I had any particular foot or ankle requirement / injuries to be aware of. Ollie was super friendly and helpful and no pushy hard-sell and even made sure that I got a great price!

Absolutely amazing help from Ollie, managed to match the price of the coat I wanted down cheaper. Had lots of advice and would definitely recommend him if you have any questions for your new kit!

I brought a Rab softshell jacket and Scarpa walking boots back in November. I had visited the store a couple of times and always received great advice from the staff, building a rapport with Ollie. When I finally decided to make the purchases, I felt very comfortable with such a large purchase. I’m very happy with the products, the advice and especially the service.

At the age of 74, I am planning to walk the pilgrimage on the Cameno De Santiago. Having had no previous experience in this sort of challenge, I visited the Blacks store at the Horsefair Bristol to look at some walking boots. The assistant Josh was absolutely amazing with his advice and attention to detail, not only did I come away with my footware but a lot of useful information that I wasn't expecting. I will be returning to the store again before I start my walk in June and hope I don't bore the staff too much. I spent 50 years in customer service and am able to recognise good service when I see it. Thankyou Josh your level of service was pitched just right, not overpowering but giving the customer exactly what they need.

Jack was very helpful finding the right shoes for what I needed and explained differences between them. This made it so much easier for me to choose one that will be suitable for my needs.

Went in with my daughter to buy things for the Duke of Edinburgh program. I know very little about hiking equipment! The female member of staff who helped us could not do enough to make our shopping trip a good one. She spent alot of time helping us get the right boots, back pack etc she explained everything we needed to know in simple understandable terms. We left with everything we needed and good advice. I totally recommend this store and would like to thank the staff for all there help.

Lovely friendly staff, clean environment, staff communicated my arrival and I was served in minutes. Sale was amazing too! Will use Blacks again for my UPS parcels and for shopping.
