Purchased walking boots online and delivered within 3 days. BUT. Wore them twice second time I got cought in a heavyish shower and they let in alot of water. Returned them to our local shop and was treated as an idiot who didnt know what I was doing. Turns out these boots are a 2 season and and not for winter use. Website did not mention this at all. Wont be using Blacks again.

I cannot remember the name of the staff member but, as usually a fabulous service! I had previously returned 2 items from a 4 item on line order and didn’t get the paper work back.
Went back 4 days later as another item didn’t fit, I explained this to the staff member he was brilliant we were buying another item, he completed the refund and helped replace with a better fit.
No problems such really good customer service and very helpful, polite staff! Thank you!

Ann was waiting quietly to see if she could assist us. We showed her the different trainers we wanted. She pointed out that a particular pair were waterproof and quickly found the correct size. She helped with the laces and was ready at the till when we arrived.

As soon as I walked in, I was given a very warm welcome by the staff. When I clearly looked a little lost is what product to pick, I was given so expert advice from the employees of the store, which soon resulted in a quick decision. In essence, lovely friendly staff, expert advice, will definitely be returning when I need anything else

I came in looking for some walking boots to replace my tired pair.

Zak was really helpful, talking me through the pros and cons of different options and bringing me a selection of sizes.
He was very polite and able to answer all my questions. Came away with a pair I’m very happy with!

The girl who showed us the walking shoes was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and made us feel in excellent hands.

Ann was a very polite and courteous employee who listened carefully to what I said before giving me options. Her knowledge of the differences between the types of walking shoes available was comprehensive and she explained it well. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Michael was absolutely amazing, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to understand our upcoming hike and guided us in choosing the perfect boots and jackets for our needs. Truly outstanding customer service!

I bought a pair on walking shoes online and they were advertised as waterproof but these were seriously faulty after wearing just twice they leaked. tried to contact Blacks to discuss this this was impossible so visited their Newbury store where I met the Manager who tried to tell me that after 2 weeks of wearing them that I bought the wrong boot s that I should by proper socks, buy spray and spend another £80 on new boots . I felt most intimidated by this Manager and will never go in this store again.

Popped in to get some new walking boots. Zak was really helpful and it was a nice relaxing experience

I was looking for a winter coat and was helped by Zak who was very patient and helpful whilst I tried on a variety of styles. The Newbury shop was clean and tidy and laid out well, which made it a pleasant shopping experience.

Absolutely superb service from Ann yesterday at the Newbury shop. Scarpa walking boots in stock, right size, decent price (same as website). Ann was efficient and friendly. Happy customer here. Nick Willcocks

I went into this branch of Blacks with my husband and we just wanted to say what great customer service we received today. While we were waiting to be served, Zak was with another customer but he quickly got Finn who dealt with our walking boot requests and efficiently answered our questions, recommending a couple of brands for my husband to try.
We were served at the till by Jack, the 3rd member of staff who was also very helpful.

Nice store, friendly staff all greeted on entrance and as walked past browsing. Jack was great, helped me with 2 pairs of shoes, friendly, efficient, helped with the discounts.

I find the staff very helpful and friendly here. Today Michael went out of his way to provide top service. Very satisfied customer.

Zak served us and he was extremely informative and extremely helpful. He did everything possible to make sure I left with walking shoes that I would be happy with. Well done Zak.
