It was great but I think I would’ve preferred for it not to be so busy. Too many one nighters. Our tour guide was excellent as was our group.

Nicky and Marissa were great in organising the tour and visas. This was our eighth Bunnik tour and have found that all have been exceptional. Our guide (Nirubhen), driver (Naveen) and assistant (Punit) were always polite, friendly and knowledgeable. We had lunch between 2 and 3 pm on a few days, perhaps a 9 am departure could be brought forward to 8 am would help to remedy this. An extra night in Bangalore would also be helpful. Overall, excellent sightseeing, friendly locals, great food and good group of friendly travellers made this an incredible tour.

We recommend a get together dinner at the Coromandel Cafe. We organised an impromptu dinner on the 3rd that everyone really enjoyed. Guide, Mahesh was superb!!!! The bus driver was incredible. We would recommend 2 nights in Periya and only one night in Madurai, even though the morning Madurai tour was excellent. 2 nights in Mysore would have been great - everyone was so impressed with the city.

The tour was comprehensive and very well organised. The accommodation was excellent; without exception, the buffet breakfasts were delicious with a great choice of food and beverages. Our guides were well informed and enthusiastic. Overall, the tour was a wonderful experience and worth every dollar. I have travelled with Bunnik four times now and will do so again next year. It's a reputable and reliable family-run company.

It was adventure, plus great people on the tour. Was quite hot for the 1st few days which was a bit debilitating, however once we got to Kerala it was much better. Food was good, I think I have seen more than enough temples, I wouldn't do that many of those again. Most of the hotels were very good, particularly Mamallapuram, Thanjavur, Kochi, Coorg, and Bangalore. The houseboat was nice. Occasionally we had to go a few places on a Tuk Tuk which was an adventure. The bus driver was really good and the helper also great, always smiling and helping. The bus was spotless each morning, and we could all sit on a seat by ourselves. Our guide was very good, extremely knowledge and helpful. He was able to provide plenty information and history. He also took us to a museum that wasn't on the scheduled tour which was really good and should be included in future tours. A negative, the hotel in Pondicherry looked good in the foyer but the bathroom in our room was many years past a renovation date, the pool was not great either, position was OK but if there is a good one nearby it should be considered. Some were disappointed the hotel in Madurai announced they had closed the bar on 9 Oct (Mohammad's birthday) not sure of this was a hotel chain decision or a decision of the hotel manager (his name was Mohammad), either way they should have provided some notice of this, it was disappointing they wouldn't even serve non alcoholic drinks. Would I do another Bunnik tour, yes, others on the tour had done Bunnik tours and spoke highly of Bunnik. I doubt we would go back to India, we have been twice, one tour was in the north and this tour. The reason we probably wouldn't go back is we would probably just see more of what we have seen before, but we are open to doing another Bunnik tour i.e. Turkey, Germany, Scandanavia etc, maybe north America

It's great to hear that you found the majority of the accommodation very good. Regarding your comments about the hotel in Pondicherry, we appreciate you highlighting this to us, and will investigate these with our local operator. Regarding the closure of the bar in Madurai on Mohammad’s birthday, we understand how disappointing this must have been. We’ll work closely with our local partners to ensure guests are given advance notice of such closures in the future, when possible.
