Excellent service received from the Durham store from visiting the store, home visit and delivery and fitting of carpets, vinyl and laminate.

Staff so helpful nothing was a problem

Not very impressed at all. The fitter came out on time with no problems but following this, we were not contacted by the shop to follow up on our order. We had to ring them and were told there is a 6 week wait for the order. We weren't told this at the time of placing the order. We were asked if we would like to pay the balance on a carpet that we haven't even received nor will do for some time it seems. We obviously said no!

I got the carpet i wanted at a good price staff were friendly and helpful good store for carpets.

We saw a beautiful lush carpet on sale from £54.99sqm down to £27.99sqm and thought we'd bite the bullet and order ourselves a new carpet. That was the easy part, as the experience after that went into a state of calamitous Chaos. The estimate instore was wrong so it had to be calculated twice by another staff member. We arranged for the surveyor to come out and give a professional, and exacting measurement. The store had given us a date for the surveyor to come, only to have mixed the booking date in on the wrong day, leaving us, waiting with no one turning up, and the appointment had to be rearranged. The Carpet took 5 weeks to order (as they only had 4mtr roll in stock, we needed a 5mtr also, no problem in waiting). Our fitting date was prearrange at time of order which was great. I called to confirm (the afternoon before the appointment) that the fitter was coming, only to be told 30 minutes later that he couldn't make it. All our furniture was distributed all over the bungalow, stacked in the kitchen and & bedrooms. We we're in a mess. Carpetright, finally managed to find a MasterCarpet Fitter to continue with the (prearranged) appointment on that same day. All went very smooth at this point, until the Fitter had noticed that the matting (the surveyor had measured and ordered) was the wrong size to fit the doorway. We had to have it reordered, and wait a further two weeks for delivery and fitting once more. Since this was all ongoing, Carpetright Durham had appointed a new Manager 'PHILIP'. He was amazing, he couldn't do enough for us. He rectified any mistakes, kept us well informed at every step, and compensated us fully for the continuity of errors. The company did seem to have a lack of investment and training in their staff, which I didn't feel was their fault entirely. Carpetright the company, should make more effort to respect their workforce and give them the training they all deserve. PHILIP was a very good manager that has recently taken over this branch in Durham, and I'm sure it is now in safe hands, having more than 20 years of experience. Overall, the outcome was a positive and a good experience, with a beautiful carpet and compensation given for our inconvenience. WELL DONE PHILIP..

The salesman woefully under estimated the cost of materials and the cost of fitting , the surveyor was very good at his job , although he was nervous about talking to me about the increase in costs , he needn't worry , then the store failed to contact me about fitting , I emailed them , no response !! I had to ring the store and the salesman was blasè to say the least , disappointed with the service to say the least , not happy at all
