CIMB Bank Philippines
CIMB Bank Philippines: A Cautionary Personal Experience
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend CIMB Bank Philippines to everyone—especially those who value accessible customer service and reliable transaction handling.
One of the major drawbacks is that CIMB operates entirely online, with no physical branches available for in-person assistance. This can be a significant inconvenience when issues arise. Moreover, their after-sales support lacks a direct phone line to speak with a live representative. All customer concerns must be submitted through a ticketing system, which can feel impersonal and slow, especially when dealing with urgent matters.
While CIMB offers free interbank transfers, which may seem like a great feature at first, there is a serious risk involved. In my case, I attempted to transfer funds to another bank, and although I received an email notification stating that the transaction had been automatically reversed, the money never actually returned to my account. Despite multiple follow-ups, the support team repeatedly insisted that the funds had been credited back due to the auto-reversal process. However, my account balance remained unchanged.
This issue didn’t happen just once—it occurred three separate times. Each time, the same frustrating cycle repeated: failed transfer, auto-reversal notification, and no actual refund. The lack of accountability and transparency in resolving these issues left me feeling helpless and disappointed.
If you value peace of mind when it comes to your finances, I strongly advise caution when considering CIMB Bank Philippines. My experience highlights the potential risks of using a fully digital bank without robust customer support or reliable transaction safeguards.
