The coffee and cakes are always consistent but today it was a very stressful visit caused by a member of staff whose demeanor and attitude was not usual for this establishment. The bad temper was taken out on crockery in the kitchen area as it was literally thrown at the sink - so noisy I could hardly hear what my friend was saying. This made the visit an unusually unpleasant experience.

What an absolutely horrid place! Horrid manager that lacks any form of compassion and understanding and has really shown the true face of the company.

I waited 15 mins for my toasted tea cake. I had to go back to counter and remind staff of my order by then I had finished my coffee. I was offered a 2nd cup but declined as I was in a rush. Girl making coffee had two attempts to make it, throwing the 1st away. I will vote with my feet and not be returning. Dreadful service and tea cake served was cold! (Newton Abbot)

Have been going to coffee#1 in Stratford on Avon since it opened there. Always loved it and found the coffee excellent.....but. Went on 1st December 2022 and found the service slow. The manager was making the coffee with a mobile in one hand and constantly chatting to another member of staff. I ordered 2 large americano with hot milk, which is normal for us. When they arrived at the counter, I queried whether they were large or small and the manager said "oh, did you want large?" and then proceeded to pour the coffee out of the small cups and then filled them to the top with hot water. I queried this and was told "you get the same amount of coffee in a large or small". As a result, the coffee was weak and resembled dishwater. I asked for replacements, but they were no better. It seems that the difference in price now is just that more water is added and therefore weaker.

The last time I went was 10th November had the same coffee and it was nice and strong so what's changed?

I will give it one more try when next in Stratford on Avon however, there are a number of coffee shops in the town so if the next visit is the same, it will be the last visit!!

Coffee#1 in Worcester is a lovely place to visit with good staff and a great atmosphere.
However on multiple visits I have been overcharged for coffee. Each time I order I am given an option of 2 kinds of coffee with no indication either from the staff member or on the board that one option is 30p more expensive. I appreciate it may be only ‘30p’ however when this is happening on numerous occasions to multiple customers this adds up significantly. Please be wary when ordering

Always love coffee #1 for our go to coffee fix. Our local ones are Stafford and Lichfield and both are lovely places. The staff are friendly and obliging, the decor is just to our taste as is the delicious coffee.
Keep up the good work and we will keep coming.

Coffee one in cirencester...possibly the worst coffee shop in the county.
It has such potential to be a fabulous coffee drinking experience in a beautiful setting but the numerous times I cant drink out of a real mug!!! Excuses...short staffed, dishwasher not working....are you sure its not bone idleness?
A few weeks ago two of the staff were having some sort of dispute and had to step outside with a third party to resolve...n
ot very relaxing to watch you guys!!
Oh and the systems are down AGAIN!!
Mmm...other coffee shops don't seem to be having the same problem. Today greeted with WE ONLY TAKE CASH poster....then told cant serve you systems are down.
Staff look bored most of the time and do not exhibit the friendliness expected in this setting....except one guy who was fab but he's only been there once.
The blonde slim girl there today had bad attitude!! And usually looks miserable.
So there you have it...from Jill who loves coffee, is a hard working nurse and never complains.
Coffee one officially boycotted.

The ‘almond croissant’ we had at Chipping Sodbury’s cafe broke the Trades Description Act: Not only was it not made from puff pastry with a lovely almond flavoured custard filling topped with toasted almonds, but was totally tasteless. Shame on you Coffee #1!

Always pop into the Evesham branch on the country park when I visit.
Consistent standards and service.
Lovely selection of food including the new Christmas choices.
Dog friendly too.

Long wait and slow service. The cups were not clean and the bottom was caked in ground coffee. I appreciate the Salisbury branch has only been open a few day but that is no excuse for dirty cups!

Visited Albany road branch in Cardiff. Staff were rude and unprofessional (including management) and the cleanliness was extremely poor. No response from the complaint system. However, Parsons just around the corner restored my faith in the hospitality sector. Lovely friendly staff and great food. I would highly recommend them.

The toilet in the Newton abbot branch was absolutely disgusting. Informed a member of staff and notified head office but no reply. It makes you think about the hygiene of the coffee machine and food
Not going in again

Ok coffee and cakes. But then you realise the number dogs, hairs all over your clothes and grandkids after sitting on couch, look at the floor and mats on exit, full dogs hairs. You might let your dog sit and run where it likes at home, but in a cafe, serving food, hygiene wise not acceptable coffee 1 - dogs have been out for walk and no doubt done their business, say no more. Chipping sodbury branch needs a deep clean !!

We use our local branch regularly and are very happy. My only complaint is with the company policy on their offers. I get regular updates for offers on cake etc but I am unable to take them up as I am gluten free. The gluten free cake they sell is never included in their offers. Especially irritating as they offer no other gluten free food. Come on Coffee#1, it can’t be too hard to include your gluten free cake in the offers from time to time.

If I could give no stars I would. Visited coffee 1 in Wells was served unacceptable drink when I returned it to counter was met with rudeness. Will never go back

Paignton branch

Stopped here during my lunch break, not the best coffee I've had nor was the service particularly fast and efficient but the staff were friendly so all in all not too bad

Coffee #1, Taunton High Street branch.

Disappointed to report a very poor (extremely bitter) coffee, and an unprofessional barista service.
I asked for a flat white (menu price £2.90). Barista asked, rudely, do I want medium or dark blend. I said “medium blend, please”. She then tapped on her register, and £3.20 came up as the price.I pointed to the £2.90 on the prices board and said, with courtesy, “I think you’ve charged me the wrong price”. She tutted and said “you should have said you wanted the dark blend. I’ll have to change it now.”
Then she ignored me further and asked what the next person in the line wanted…
With this behaviour, I was made to feel unwelcome and unwanted as a customer.

I certainly won’t be returning to Coffee#1 in Taunton again.
The manager should offer some training in how to value customers.

Went to the chipenham branch, really disappointed, the server Sophie was extremely rude and the coffee was disgusting

After visiting Coffee1# in Clevedon this weekend I was disgusted with the dirty tables, no air conditioning and no Blinds out for shade over the outside tables. There was plenty of staff but very few customers.

Tables had been cleared but not wiped down. The Air-Con in this shop has been out of order for quite some time. Why is it staff cannot clean tables when they clear them? Is it lack of training or just plain laziness?

Just visited the Tewkesbury cafe. No welcome, stood waiting while the barista ignored us. Ordered coffee and sat at table which had not been cleaned. It wasn’t busy and we noticed none of the tables had been wiped down - all sticky and laden with crumbs. The toilet wasn’t much better either - grubby and no loo paper. Awful.
