Discrimination Against Vegans!
Several months ago I tried to have a vegan meal at Arthurs restaurant. There was nothing, except for a jacket potato and beans. We were assured the menu would be improved soon.
Today, we tried again only to find that a vegan panini was the only option. It was either that or nothing. I had the panini and asked to see the manager. She told me that it wasn't her choice but that of head office. I mentioned the fact that animal agriculture was one of the leading causes of climate change and she put her hand up to stop me speaking. Saying this it was not up for discussion and not her point of view anyway. She then turned her back on me and walked away. I did manage to give her a booklet on the subject but she clearly didn't want it! Plant based food will help to stop climate change, that's why more people are turning towards it. This is discrimination against those who are trying to do their best for the planet. A manager's job should be to at least hear what I have to say, not be annoyed with me because it wasn't her opinion! We won't be going back to Coolings and we're not alone.

Just been served the full English breakfast, the smallest most poor effort we have ever seen, smallest rasher of bacon which was one mouthful, the half a tomato was a slice off the top of the tomato, sausage was overcooked, slice of toast seperate was cold, the beans were there to try and fill the plate.I nevere complain but All in all for £27 I couldn't let it go, will not return to this cafe even for a cup of tea, pollhill and Ruxley knock spots off this disgraceful attempt at food
The for sale sign is misleading as it contains a condition that is designed to be overlooked.

New Trees
Have just recently had 9 trees removed from our garden but wanted to replace them with new ones. Went to Coolings as have been before and they always have a great selection of plants. Found what we liked, spoke to Chris about planting service and he suggested another variety, but similar, tree. Found those, Thuja, and bought 5. Arranged for delivery in 2 weeks, and arranged for planting with Chris soon after. Trees duly arrived by very pleasant guy and 2 days later 2 more very pleasant guys arrived, nice and early, who proceeded to plant the trees exactly where we wanted them. What an excellent service all round and a great bunch of workers, would thoroughly recommend.

Without doubt the best garden centre around. I shop there quite frequently and always find every member of staff incredibly helpful. The cafe is excellent too with lovely views.
Really nice staff.
My partner and I went in to the Wych Cross Coolings and weâre helped by two wonderful women who really knew their stuff. Trish walked us round the centre and helped us pick climbing plants that would survive on our east facing wall. She even offered to pack the car for us!
They were most helpful and friendly staff I think I have ever encountered, anywhere. It just seemed like a good working atmosphere - weâll be back!
Heaven In A Garden Centre
We dropped into Coolings Knockholt earlier today just to buy some aggregate for a small landscaping job at home.Everything is done properly here,with covid protection measures in place,everything exceptionally clean and tidy and stock levels full.The staff are helpful and the discounts on multi buys are very good.We stayed and had lunch sitting out in the beautiful garden and it was perfect;the chips are historic.I really hope Coolings don't waste money on management consultants as there really is nothing negative to report.

Previously I have to say they have been excellent, but yesterday we sat outside observing the waiting staff! Not once did they sterilise any tables, let alone wipe them. They just cleared the tables and put the table number back in position! One guy looked extremely efficient, he had his spray bottle hanging from him, but never once used it!! A majority of your customers were elderly people!! What a worry Covid has not gone and won't at this rate !
The plants are lovely and healthy, but a bit on the pricey side!!

Ordered four plants on Wednesday, they arrived the following Tuesday. They kept me updated via email and the plants arrived in great condition. Very happy with the products and service
expectations exceeded
I went into Coolings garden centre today to exchange an item I bought there before Christmas as a present. It was a posh lunch box which housed a 'spork'. I only noticed after it had been opened by the recipient that the prongs on the spork were broken.
Initially I thought it would be a breeze to go back and swap it for one that wasn't broken. After all I will have kept the receipt (I keep all receipts for gifts and products).
When I discovered that the receipt was no where to be found I returned to the store with a credit card statement showing the substantial sum I had spent in store but of course unable to identify the faulty product in question.
Now I knew that this was an honest purchase and an honest fault (if I had broken it myself I wouldn't have the nerve to try and swap it) and I am usually quite able and ready to stand up for my consumer rights but on tis occasion I could feel myself bottling it on the drive there.
I could just picture the conversation...
me: "Id like to swap this over please for one that isn't broken"
them: " we need a proof of purchase, the credit card statement doesn't prove purchase"
me: but I spent £194 with you so surely you can swap it for one that isn't broken?"
them: its not our store policy, blah, speak with the duty manager, blah, till receipt, blah, may have broken it yourself blah blah blah
me " right then - just wait until you read my review on trustpilot!!"
So I turned up at the cash desk and the sales assistant (yes, not even the duty manager or CEO), OK, No problem"!!!!??????
When I thanked him and admitted I was expecting things to turn heated he simply said we have a 'no quibble' policy. Now that's the kind of store policy I love.
Well done that man at the cash desk and well done Coolings. In a world of mediocre customer service you appear to be a rare guiding light.
