This is a first-class honest operation; they could have easily sold me a transmission the way my excursion was acting. I had just arrived in Winston-Salem, and the next morning I went to a Walmart about eight miles away, and that's when the transmission started acting up. I dropped it off at Cottman Transmissions on University Boulevard, and since it was late on Thursday, they wouldn't look at it until Monday. I said no problem. They called me on Tuesday and said they needed electrical diagnostic time to find out what the issue was, and again I said no problem; I would be down again on Thursday. Well, they found a faulty range finder sensor in the transmission, but that partially fixed the problem. However, when they drove it, it acted up again, and they would need more diagnostic time. Again, I said no problem. The tech traced it back, believing there was a chafed wire issue. Well, it wasn't, and it turned out to be the fan clutch that caused the grounding issue. That clutch fan wasn't the only thing it was affecting the grounding problem; my radio hasn't worked for three years now. When you turn the volume, it would go way up automatically and change channels on its own like it was possessed! Well, it's fixed! I drove five and a half hours home with it on without an issue! I cannot say enough about how honest the business is! I highly recommend the Service Advisor, Philena Miller; she was very knowledgeable and straightforward with me. The technician, Stanfield, knows how to fix and repair a vehicle and isn't just a parts replacer, as we see now a days; it's quite obvious he really knows his mechanical/technical business. So from what I about this business is a business manager Jason Lucero runs a first-class operation, he treats the customer with respect, and manages the business with the customer in mind. I want to thank you for being an honest automotive service business. If I had to rate this business from 1 to 10, you would be a 20!!!!!!!! You are an anomaly in the industry! Thank you again! 7 or 8 times my car has been at this same shop.it cost me everytime.and problem is always in the transmission that we have paid for over and over again .my car has been broken into.same shop.we had to replace new window, out of our pocket.now the car is back at your shop.once again ,cost me $1375.00😵

Paid them $ 2500 witch is the same price of an overhaul that they didnt do and the transmission lasted only a yr. Told me there warenty is only 30 days what kind of crap is that. Shows me they just pieced and patched my transmission to last long enough for the warrenty to expire. Never again will i use them. They told me my fluid was an half a quart low,and I had metal shavings and my fluid was brunt. I informed him they they had worked on it how is that so. In just over a year the same problem I have before is back. But now u want me to pay you $700 just to talk it back out and see what's wrong with it. I must look like a real stupid if he thought I was gona pay him all over again for what they didnt fix in the first place. This company is horrible and I would not suggest anyone to use them wouldn't even attempt to say they would open the transmission up and try to find why it's doing the same thing that it was doing when I brought it to them the first time all they want is money and to patch your transmission up just to get you out the door

Went in for six month checkup for recent clutch replacement. During evaluation, it was determined that the wrong clutch cable was used in original replacement which was performed in December of 2017. Appropriate clutch cable was obtained and installed for my vehicle-at no charge to me. The shop manager, Minor, was very keen in making this observation and very courteous. Guys in shop were also great and I appreciated the service I received from this Cottman location.

My name is Teresa Barnes I took my Jeep to Cottman Transmission back the beginning of July 2018. After a thorough examination found out that my transmission definitely had to be rebuilt. The customer service here was excellent they work with me giving me time to come up with the money that it was going to take to repair the transmission. My vehicle already had like a hundred and eighty thousand miles on it at the time it was taking to Cottman. I am far from being rich so it took me about 6 weeks longer to be able to come up with the money to pay the transmission off as of August 24th 2018 I was able to go in pick my vehicle up and immediately drove it on a 200-mile round-trip. My vehicle is running and shifting better than it has in the entire three years I've owned the car previous. Jodi and Brian are outstanding dealing with customers. They did exactly as they told me being men of their word they told me my Jeep would be ready the Tuesday before the 24th so that they could drive it around test it and make sure that everything was okay my jeep has shifted like a brand new car the entire trip down and back from Charlotte. I personally would recommend Cottman Transmission on University Parkway in Winston-Salem with Jody and Brian being the employees there to anyone with any kind of problems with their transmission these young man know what they're doing and do what they say I believe in treating people like I want to be treated and so do these fine young men at Cottman they are men of their words they did exactly as they told me they would do and having my vehicle ready on time and I greatly greatly appreciate that would recommend again to anyone.

Car is still not right. The transmission is slipping. I am taking the car back as soon as I get a day off. So far customer service has been awesome

which made it about one week to get it fixed. Manager was as frustrated as I was but nothing else could be done ..They did make the repairs needed.
