I love it exactly what I was hoping for. A few slight scratches. Delivery chaps very helpful.

What a lovely shop, full of excellent quality made furniture and can be made in bespoke sizes. We received our furniture on time and the quality is excellent. Very efficient staff and a lovely shop to browse.

Highly delighted they got back to me straight away with my order and it’s already on its way which is good because I need it before the end of November.

First time I have used this company. I found the website easy to navigate. Easy to find my items. Nice selection of items I was looking for. Easy to make a purchase. Quick delivery. Packaged well.

Excellent service and product

I don’t ever write reviews, but had to do this one due to the most bizarre experience I had with Curiosity Interiors, which I would like to warn others about to avoid wasting any time shopping with them. All started well after finding this small family business online and their unusual rustic furniture designs.

I ordered a dresser to start with and Sarah told me that their bespoke service could sand the wood to match all over as their photos showed some areas were slightly rougher than others; plus exchange the door latch for door knobs; plus stain all the wood so that the small cupboard interior matched the outside; and not to bevel a groove on the side of the cupboard and to keep flush instead.

However, two weeks later her sister Lizzy emailed me to say that the factory they use required an extra £150.00 to complete this work. So I rang Lizzy and asked her why this was, as I had presumed that there would not be any extra cost for my request.

Lizzy just repeated that the cost was for the extra work even though I explained that there was not any extra work, as the factory start with bare planks of wood and therefore overall there would actually be less work and nothing to justify £150.00 extra for what was already an expensive dresser.

I asked Lizzy if she could kindly contact the factory and ask them for a breakdown, as it was not the expense, but the principle of paying for something which was difficult to justify.

Lizzy refused to do this saying that she did not want to affect the good relationship she had with the factory and said that she did not feel comfortable with me asking this, as no customer had ever asked her before why they had to pay an extra charge, as if it was abnormal and insulting.

Lizzy then offered me the dresser without my request if I didn’t want to pay the extra charge, so I told her that would speak to my wife after and let her know our decision on Monday, as it was Saturday when we spoke.

However, to my surprise the next day I received an email from Lizzy saying that she had discussed my concern with her team and decided to cancel my order and refund my money, implying that I had somehow offended her enough to take such extreme action.

Therefore, back to John Lewis where although there are less specialised designs of furniture, at least there is a good customer service and they do not cancel your order when you ask them a question.

What a shame for the small family business as apparently the customer is always wrong with Curiosity Interiors, which is why they are likely to remain small, even though they do have some nice looking furniture.

Good prompt service

It has taken me over 2 years to find the perfect bunk beds for my young men.
Somehow, I came across the Curiosity Interior website, and decided to take a closer look at what they were providing for sale.
I even went as far as, driving from London to Alfreton to physically see whether these bunk beds meet my family’s needs.
They were perfect. Strong and sturdy with a beautiful rustic style. The most important thing about them, they don’t move at all, and my young men absolutely love them!
My only criticism I have of this store, is the lack of communication from the staff members. Had there been more communication from you, I would have had no problem giving you the full 5 stars.
Over all, quite a good experience.
Looking forward to the next one!
