We appointed Douglas Allen to sell our property in Chingford as we were looking to move house to Suffolk. The team of James, Jess, Jake and Natasha at the branch were extremely helpful, friendly and professional and were quite happy to answer our many questions.
They found us a buyer within a couple of days and helped us through the sales process very efficiently, keeping in regular contact of how it was progressing.
The staff were all brilliant and we would very happily recommend Douglas Allen in Chingford for buying or selling your property.

Ray Phipps at Wanstead was very easy to deal with. He gave us good advice, responded quickly, and was very helpful when we were let down by a couple of buyers. I would recommend.

Ray was an absolute pleasure to work with. We sold our house very quickly, and he found my new home. Ray always took my calls and chased stuff up. I would and have recommended Ray and Douglas Allen at Wanstead.

cowboy estate agents, bunch of crooks in suits. they outright explained to me how the douglas allen process is taking bribes and that's how they will get the job done. once I said my religious beliefs does not allow that they laughed and ignored all my enquires and offers

3 months on market with these bunch of clowns and as soon as appointed another agent house was sold in 2 days…still receiving threatening emails about selling with other agent even though we cancelled with Douglas Allen…very misleading and marketing is poor…very poor…also we keep getting false reports sent to us saying they have had viewings etc which is important as they have no access to property…my advise…find another agent as it’ll be smoother and quicker then with Douglas Allen

Was given a high value on my property, also was told that it was best to use their auction department "I am sold". Very quickly became apparent that the price was too high as was advised to lower it. After a couple of months with no real offers decided to use another agent, property was sold within a week. After telling Douglas Allen that their services were no longer required I was still getting Marketing reports from them 2 months later and found out they were still had the property up for sale on Zoopla. Clueless DO NOT USE.

Just want to give a huge shout out to Natasha Tomlins (Mercieca) for going WAY above and beyond in her support. Natasha ensured the whole process was trafficked through as quickly as possible, without Natasha we would have never met our mortgage deadline on our new place.
Natasha emailed and called all parts of the chain honestly every day and delivered concise updates that kept me at ease when all my hair was falling out.

It felt like an incredibly personal service and I knew I could rely on Natasha to support me throughout the whole process. Cannot recommend Natasha and DA enough, we lost our first buyer and Natasha still managed to keep us on track with a new buyer and a tight timeline. Thank you so much!

He helped sell our home in record time, and the house we purchased was also represented by Wanstead Douglas Allen. It went smoothly with very little hiccups. We are very pleased. It was going so well until it wasn’t. I signed the contract in November 2020 & once I had reviewed the estate agency costs & the legal fees. I was told I would also have to pay a refundable £25 deposit for the legal fees. The legal fees quoted on a Douglas Allen headed pamphlet was *£695 for a property selling at the price it did. The * referring to additional fees if it were leasehold etc. I was instead charged £775 basic, which I raised before completion & spent endless time ringing & chasing the branch staff about. Always being promised calls but aside from 1 instance which unfortunately went to voicemail I didn’t receive. I was told it could be resolved after completion & would not affect the completion & on the return of the branch manager that week it would all the resolved once & for all.

The staff member working at the branch covering in her manager’s absence couldn’t grasp the situation & kept emailing my solicitor, confusing matters as it was Douglas Allen that quoted the fees & asked for the £25 deposit, rather than calling me back as promised by other staff, to discuss. She also had never heard of the £25 refundable fee. Thankfully despite no paperwork I was able to prove this transaction by contacting my bank & requesting the statement showing this payment.

On the managers return I hoped it would all be wrapped up quickly. The manager has given me assurances & called when promised but now it has all gone dead. The manager has emailed twice this week asking if his managers have called me yet. Which they haven’t.

There seems to be no way to contact customer services, only a central sales team. I have contacted the central sales team too, to escalate the situation & there is never a manager to hand. Any time you call the manager is in a meeting or out on a break. You are always told they will ask them to call you, it never happens though. Up until this point I had been impressed with Douglas Allen. Now, I wouldn’t use them ever again. It’s a headache no-one needs, less so when dealing with health issues, which the local branch are aware of. So disappointed.

Great customer support from beginning of the process.We’ve been in touch with Ledina and Owen since we started looking for properties to buy. Both of them are really informed and go the extra mile at every stage. They are very friendly, patient and helpful in helping us find what we were looking for. I would recommend them unreservedly. We wish to thank Jazzmin at Wickford Branch who has provided an exceptional service to us, from initial contact to sale/purchase which was a very quick turnaround, she is very professional, extremely helpful and patient, we were kept informed without delay and nothing was too much trouble, an all round lovely person to deal with at an extremely stressful time.

Worst estate agents in the country , dealt with barking-side office . And was gobsmacked to see how they do business , mortgage broker and manager does doggy dealings . Doesn’t have the sellers best interest at at heart . Only care about how much more cash they can make . Avoid at all costs , the broker Faisal , out right said to me give me cash to get house.

Although their fees were slightly higher than other estate agents, I could tell from the very first visit/meeting that it would be worth it. I received a professional service throughout the whole process. Jessica and Natasha were amazing. Easy to communicate with, supportive, alway available to help and when they were not they got back to me in a very timely manner. They were the only constant form of communication in what was a stressful process which made life a lot easier for me. If I had to do this all over again I would still pick them. They are worth every penny. Highly recommend their friendly, down to earth, professional service.
