Brilliant service from viewing the property to getting our offer accepted!

We contacted Caroline to view a property on Friday and was booked in for the next day! Caroline was a pleasure to speak to, her responses were clear and super quick.

After our offer was accepted, we briefly dealt with Morgan who was very friendly and helpful. Although we didn’t use Morgan as our mortgage broker, I have no doubt that he would have done an amazing job.

We also had brief dealing with Alex. Alex was great, always on hand for questions and very helpful.

Every time I called up with a question - someone was always able to help me. I did not speak to one person who was unhelpful.

Overall, I would highly recommend Douglas & Allen. Especially Caroline, who was an absolute pleasure!

I’d like to thank everyone for their help. As first time buyers, it can be stressful and scary but Douglas & Allen put us at ease after the first call.

Douglas Allen was able to sell our house faster than 2 previous agents we were with. We spoke with many helpful colleagues at the Chadwell Heath branch. One of the main people we spoke to was Bilal. He was very helpful and friendly and always made sure things were upto date and communicated in a very polite and kind manner.

We recently purchased a property via Douglas Allen Woodford Green.
We were shown around the property by a young man called James. He was great, kept us informed and updated. Great communication but then he was let go. After this the communication was not great and it was clear that Douglas Allen was working for the seller. Not a great experience until I met Dawn, wow the last month was so much better and what you would expect when buying a house.

Dawn regularly called me and kept me informed, questions I asked was promptly responded. Kind, friendly and great communication Dawn 😀.

When buying a property it’s people like Dawn you want to work with to help an already stressful process run as smooth as possible

My personal experience with Douglas Allen was very positive.
Although I didn't end up buying a property through them as I decided to move to another part of London.
Having registered with most of the local estate agents, Douglas Allen were by far the best.
I would like to highlight two staff members in particular. Remel who I explained what property I was looking for Remel tried extremely hard to match my requirements. If something came onto the market Remel would call me provide me with details, send information and then follow up to see what I thought. It was this personal touch that I personally liked, other estate agents just sent me things, hoping something would stick I just felt like I was on a conveyor belt and not a valued customer. Remel really gave me the impression he was trying his hardest to find me what I wanted.
Ann-Marie was a star showed me around a couple of properties, didn't pressure me or give me the hard sell, was very relaxed and made me feel at ease, also opened my eyes to potential of a property should I be interested in buying. These were the personal touches that set Douglas Allen apart from the other estate agents in my book. I would definitely recommend Douglas Allen.

Terrible estate agents. Manager (gregg) is rude and unprofessional. Everything I asked was agreed then he done what he wanted to do. Stay away. You will thank me later. Douglas Allen are the kinda company that give estate agents a bad name.

Use bear, honest and professional

Two appointments booked and confirmed, two no shows. Previously dealt with their head office (ARUN), using branch direct a completely different experience. Very disappointing.

We would like to thank Kieran Zwolinski and his team at the Basildon branch for the fantastic service provided throughout the process of selling our home so far. Kieran has been consistently professional, knowledgeable, and communicative. His expertise in the local market was helpful, and his regular updates on viewings and feedback kept us informed and reassured.

This was my first experience of selling a property by auction. My initial contact was with Greg who did the valuation and explained the ins and outs of selling by auction. His team arranged the photographs, setting up the auction and viewings. They kept me informed of all viewing appointments as they became arranged and reported feedback where received. Staff were always friendly and helpful and dealt with any queries I had promptly. Special thanks to Phebi, Luke and particularly to Michelle, who went above and beyond to chase completion so it finally took place on the day, right before closing time.Well done everyone and thank you.

Ian White and the team at the Epping branch of Douglas Allen have been absolutely superb from start to finish of the sale of my long-term family home in Theydon Bois after my father passed away. Their kindness and compassion made the process so much easier for myself and my brother. Ian, Luke, Adam and Tanya Keene all worked tirelessly for us to secure the sale. It made things so much easier using JS Law for the conveyancing too. Very professional dealings in all aspects of the sale and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We went to view a house with Douglas Allen (Chadwell Heath branch) in December 2023 before the Christmas holidays. The house was advertised with 3 other agents but I chose Douglas Allen because a while back, a young chap by the name of Bilal Arbi who works for Douglas Allen was really helpful in supporting me with an offer I had made on a property back in September, but I wasn’t successful in securing the property. To cut a long story short, for the house I went to view in December 2023, Douglas Allen only accepted my offer after doing something called an “offer qualification”, a disguise of where they force you to have a meeting with their in house mortgage advisor, to underhandedly force you to take out a mortgage with them. This is unethical and immoral- I’ve dealt with other estate agents before and they’ve never operated in such a way. Nevertheless I sat through this meeting and then eventually after a few days the seller accepted my offer but I had to increase it by £7000. I made the biggest mistake doing this. After accepting my offer, the seller still kept the house on the market with other agents because he was hoping to secure higher offers than mine. The property has tenants who are council tenants of 10 years and the seller is struggling to remove them. Despite knowing this I went ahead with good intentions to buy this house, giving Douglas Allen the benefit of the doubt that they are doing everything they can to push the seller to remove the house off the market and remove the tenants. I did my mortgage application and surveyors were sent to survey the property. After my mortgage went through, 2 days later I find out from Tanya Keene, their Sales Progressor, that the seller had issued a Section 21 to the tenants but they refused to move. She then went on to say the seller would need to get a court eviction order to forcibly remove the tenants which could take up to 6-9 months, all in the while upholding the notion that the seller had no idea that his tenants were council tenants! I couldn’t believe the utter nonsense she was spouting- Tanya claimed she had no idea about what the seller was up to and in the telephone conversation I had with her, she was taking the seller’s side and making excuses for him that he’s naive and innocent in all of this. I am very disappointed that they allowed a surveyor to survey the house, which I paid a sum of over £500 for the surveyor cost the property, knowing full well that the sale of this house will not complete any time soon. I had already instructed solicitors and paid an £800 deposit for them to start their checks, but the seller was doing nothing from his side to make this sale happen. This is all down to Douglas Allen’s carelessness- they should’ve done more to understand this seller’s motives. As a result, I lost a lot of money and so much of my time was wasted on this one property which I had set my heart on. Also, one of their Sales Negotiators, Samuel Stephens, as nice as he was, he seemed very ill informed on the entire process of processing offers. He had initially asked me to send over my payslips, P60, 3 months bank statements and much more for simply making an offer on a house? This was then looked into by the mortgage advisor who herself admitted Samuel was not supposed to ask for this much information and that the offers are supposed to be emailed to someone more senior than him, and that he will be told to delete the sensitive files I sent over to his email. After I had withdrawn my offer for this property, they put the house back on the market, knowing full well there are sitting tenants in the property who will not be vacating the property anytime soon. This shows they have no reservations in deceiving people. This is a very poor reflection of Douglas Allen and I would advise anyone to steer well clear of them!
