Avoid Drivalia - I was charged £1065, 2 weeks after returning the car.

Obviously anyone could have caused the damage in the time since I returned the car, and what's worse is that the £1065 is for a small chip in the windscreen - Halfords and Autoglass both charge less than £50 for such a repair, and Drivalia have yet to provide any evidence that they have actually done the repair at all.

Complete shambles. On 28th May I booked a car with two child car seats to attend my father’s memorial weekend 29th June in Norfolk. My booking confirmation stated that I had booked car with the child seats. The day before travelling I double checked and got a call back saying that they didn’t have any car seats. They told me that the child seats were ‘subject to availability’. This was never stated at any point of the booking process through a live agent. As if anyone would go ahead with a booking on the off chance that you wouldn’t have the seats is both insulting and extremely bizarre. I was told that if I hadn’t called, then I would have turned up to collect the car without the seats and no one would have informed me. I also still received an invoice that included charges for the car seats. Also the invoice I received is for £59.45 more than the booking confirmation. The only advice I was offered was to book elsewhere with less than 24 hours on a summer weekend or buy my own child seats (I am working all day on the Friday).

It does get a while to get used to and yes when you collect you might wait 3-4 minutes on the phone but that's the same or less than the queue and the form filling you normally have to do.

You do it once, get used to the operating model, and suddenly it becomes really convenient. It occupies a great space between zip car and getting to a station or airport. Recommended

I picked up a car from Fulham Broadway in late March, and took a video of the car before and after the collection / drop off.

At the time of my collection, I was offered a free upgrade if I left a 5 star review, which instantly set alarm bells ringing. I suspect many of the 5 star reviews on here are for this reason.

ONE WEEK later, I got a short and abrupt email from Drivalia saying that I owe them £250 for a new tyre due to an alleged tear in the front passenger side tyre. I showed them a video of the tyre during my drop off, and they have reviewed the footage saying 'we cannot see a tear in the tyre in the video provided' which is precisely my point.

However, within the same email they have now increased the cost to £259 (with no explanation why it has increased!!!!), and said if this is not paid within 10 days they are instructing debt collectors. Since then (nearly a week later) despite calling and emailing every day I have heard nothing at all. I suspect they plan to leave this to the debt collectors without any further explanation to force me to pay.

This is terrible treatment and it seems to me they are using this method to generate profit. They are unable to show any evidence of the condition of the car at my drop off time. They leave their cars for up to 24 hours in NCPs which are open to the public.

Their claims are unsubstantiated and they offer no explanation or set out their claims, furthermore they offer no information why the cost is so high, or an invoice for the repairs. I have found what appears to be the same tyre on Halfords for £120!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, THEIR CHEAPER PRICES COULD COST YOU MORE IN THE LONG RUN

Extremely dodgy. Was informed at the last minute that no car was available and asked me to travel to a different location. Then was called and asked to pay an extra £50 per day for insurance WAIVER- otherwise pay £1500 deposit. To be honest I think this company could be a scam.
