Just pay a little extra and book from a different supplier
I’ve rented multiple times before from this branch with mostly alright experiences, but this time they have outdone everything I have ever heard regarding car rental scams.
They took/scanned all my details (also looked into things they have absolutely no business to check) and then before trying to take a credit card payment for the deposit, they ran a credit check for no disclosed reason, which incidentally failed for again an unknown reason and therefore refused to rent me the car.
It’s worth adding that I booked through a 3rd party to whom they told they declined due to a no-show, so that they can keep the money for the rental.

J'ai 70ans handicapé je touche 900 euros de retrait .mon oncle et en train de mourir alors je me suis rendu a liverpool airport pour le dire aurevoir. Le personnel de Drivilia était très gentille rien a dire le seul problème en arrivant pour paye 144 livres 45 ont me dit ma carte bancaire n'est pas compatible pour le deposit alors ils faut paye l'assurance je me suis trouvé avec 200 euros de plus a paye au lieu de 165 euros je paye 365 euros pour moi c'est énorme en plus le tristesse de mon oncle je me trouve plumé par Drivilia en 50 ans de voyage entre l'Angleterre et la France 2 a 3 fois par année c'est le premier fois ça m'arrive je loue les voitures depuis 50ans jamais vue ca réfléchi bien avant loue chez Drivilia. Je vais faire les démarches au tribunal pour me battre pour récupérer les 200 euros avec l'aide juridique.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that there was some confusion regarding our payment requirements at the time of collection.
To ensure a smooth rental process, we provide information regarding our payment and deposit policies at the time of booking and on the confirmation voucher. For clarity, our standard requirements are as follows:
• Security Deposits: We require a pre-authorisation deposit on a credit card in the name of the main driver (starting from £1500).
• Debit Card Use: We do accept debit cards; however, this requires the purchase of an excess waiver package to reduce the excess to zero. UK residents using a debit card must also pass a credit check or provide proof of employment.
• Payment Security: All deposits must be made with a physical card with at least 2 months' validity. We cannot accept virtual cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cards without visible numbers.
• Exclusions: We do not accept cash or prepaid cards.
If you require any further information regarding your booking or this process, please contact us through the Manage My Booking portal on the Drivalia.co.uk website.

We had fabulous service from Drivalia. Staff are so helpful. Stuart got us sorted upon return and took us back to the airport. We love this rental car company. We find the cars are fabulous and the staff are trustworthy. Liverpool John Lennon Airport was such a smooth process to get a car.

Stuart is exceptional
Recently wrote a review but wanted to update my view on the airport branch. Speedy collection from the airport and back to the office all good and rapid. I returned the car today and Stuart was waiting for me. He took a genuine interest in my trip to the Uk and remembered my itinerary. Car was checked in and speedy arrangements made to go back to the airport. Spot on service and Stuart has exceptional customer skills and promotes his home city

I love Drivalia Liverpool airport it…
I love Drivalia Liverpool airport it was a breath of fresh air in the world of car rental….always friendly always helpful….until today 30minutes waiting to get picked up with another couple, so they knew we were going to be there, they guy who picked us up wasn’t the usual friendly face more like a pitbull with a suntan. I was luckily enough served by the usual friendly staff I see there but this time this other guy was always butting in saying what the other guy was saying was wrong, I usually use the app to book but missed the insurance this time usually not an issue the guys always are honest and the price they give me matches the price in app, not this time suntanned pitbull had a different idea, arguing with the guy serving me that it should be a lot more than the app quoted no problem I always get insurance with them I just expected it to be the same price as the app it usually is …. Then I was given a Car was about to leave sitting in the car paired my phone about to drive off and had it taken off me and swapped to another one … . I think due to the suntanned pitbull his attitude to customers is the complete opposite to the staff there I usually deal with angry, argumentative and obviously just there to get as much out of you as possible..I watched him try to upsell a Dutch couple I travelled with insurance they already owned and his attitude stinks and to cap it off there must have been someone waiting at the airport for a booking for a while who he’d just didn’t seem bothered about . I dunno who this guy is but definitely ruined this car hire place for me, and the usually friendly service hopefully you’ll get one of the other friendly guys who work there. Shame really as the rest of the staff are awesome usually in and out but over an hour it took me to pick up the car today

Worst Hire Car Company Ever
Drivalia UK is a terrible company and without doubt the worst car hire company I have ever experienced . They rely on their unreasonable terms and conditions . I would not recommend them to anyone - avoid at all costs!
