they are very reactives, nice offshore coverage

This insurance agency is a sham. They attract you with very attractive rates for coverage on your boat. They portray themselves as being highly service-oriented and available anytime.

But then... when it's time to make a claim, all of that goes completely out of the window. They obfuscate the process to the point of insanity, making you chase after documentation and other details for the claim to no end. Then, after all's said and done, they DENY your claim. They'll come up with all kinds of BS reasons for the denial. Then when you complain and press them to escalate the matter, they simply stop responding.

My short story: I put my boat in dry storage at the marina I'm at because I was going to be away for the winter. The boat incurred damage during that period, and the marina didn't tell me. I found out that the boat tipped over on the cradles from a dock neighbor. I couldn't determine the damage's extent until I returned to Montenegro in the spring. I told them about the situation, and they said it was ok for me to wait until I got back there to file any claim. So once I ascertain the damage and get the needed estimates, etc., I file the claim in March '24. A couple of weeks and a few paper chases later, they tell me the claim is DENIED. They denied it because I didn't file the claim within 21 days of the damage occurrence. This even though I asked them when I should file the claim!

After checking out some cruising forums, I quickly found that this is their standard MO. Offer attractive rates, and deny virtually every claim. I only wish I knew that when I was buying my boat last year, it would have spared me a lot of headaches and money.

Avoid this company at all costs.

This company is a scam. Their underwriter operates shell companies out of American Samoa and Costa Rica for marine insurance. Their underwriter is not rated on AM Best and the webpage is full of outdated and misleading information (like the claim they are licensed in the state of Louisiana - check with the LDI, they're not).
