Went out of business no surprise. Bike quality was pretty good. Customer service and fulfillment were horrible. No wonder they went under.

Should have never trusted this company

Ordered in August, still waiting for the bike to this day. I have sent multiple inquiries from me to their email inbox, and I have yet to receive a reply from one of them, let alone actually receive the bicycle. I am charging this worthless company back — this company was a HUGE SCAM from the get-go… good thing this abhorrent company is belly up. I should never have trusted them, what with all their marketing fluff and reassurance. Proprietary parts. Your battery pack is spoiled? HA! Good luck even trying to buy a replacement. That’s on EBC. Locking customers into an ecosystem that is now collapsed.

Suffer in chapter 7 bankruptcy. You deserve it, EBC.

DO NOT order an electric bike from this…

DO NOT order an electric bike from this company. They are a SCAM. Two months from the date the order was submitted (and they collected the money) and their web site still says the order is not in production, The customer service telephone number is unmanned (not answered) and they have not replied to multiple emails sent to their customer service email address. I have been unable to get any response from them.

I got my xp trike last year and now…

I got my xp trike last year and now have 825 trouble free miles. I needed to make a minor adjustment and the support team was very responsive and supportive and stood by their product. If every business in America was like Lectric E Bike this would not be a bad country. Just saying. There are folks in my area that are still biking on with their Lectric e bike products with no issues.

Go out of business

Go out of business. Your website is crap. Put a human on the phone, enough with the useless chatbot. A full month and 14 days I've been on the site, submitted my phone number and emailed several times. NOTHING! If you can't deliver a bike on time STOP with the promotional drivel as well as offering trinkets for your shortcomings.

Think Twice Before Ordering

I purchased a bike from Electric Bike Co. on June 3, 2025. Since there was no clear delivery timeline, I decided to cancel my order on July 8. On July 14, I received an email stating that my refund was being processed and I would receive a check by mail within 12–14 business days.

It’s now well past that timeframe, and I’ve still received nothing. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times, but they have completely stopped responding. No check, no follow-up, no customer service.

This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. I expected much better from a company in this industry. I would not recommend ordering from Electric Bike Co. unless you’re comfortable risking delays, poor communication, and potentially not getting your money back.

I paid $3200.00 for my bike

I paid $3200.00 for my bike. I got all the bells and whistles because it was my first ebike. I was very careful when I chose my bike and made sure to get the twenty-inch wheels as the company claimed that it would suit a person under five-foot-four. I am five-foot-two. The bike arrived and was basically dumped at the end of my driveway and the box was badly damaged. I spoke to a rep and they told me to return it. I went on a trip for a month and the bike arrived two weeks after I returned home. It was November 2024 at that point, I ordered it in March 2024. Well I tried to ride it, but it was FAR too tall for me. If I sat the seat, I could only touch on tiptoe on one side. If I went flat-foot the bike was too far over on that side. The only way to touch the ground was to get off the seat, which then came to the waistband of my jeans. I tried to ride it, but I dumped it a couple of times. It's simply far too big for me. I hav e tried contacting them, but every single message I send goes unanswered. The bike could be wonderful for all I know, but I cannot ride it. My nephew who is five-foot-five has to tiptoe to ride it. All-in-all I'm out $3,200.00 and I hate this company to the core.

I've had several negative experiences…

I've had several negative experiences with the Electric Bike Company. This is especially disappointing because I met at their location every Saturday for two years to ride with other EBC bikers and actively supported the company. We never received anything in return, yet we still encouraged others to purchase their bikes.

I've seen happy go lucky people posting positive comments about their experiences, and I used to be one of them—until I started having problems. The first couple of times, they were helpful when I showed up in person with battery issues. But now, I believe my motor is blown, and I can’t get any help, even after visiting their factory twice. I’ve sent four emails and made two phone calls with zero response.

Today, for the second time, I have to take my bike to a different vendor for repairs. I truly feel sorry for anyone who bought from them and lives in a different state. I would not purchase anything from this company again, and I certainly wouldn't invest in it, as they are now asking people to do.

Please, go elsewhere.

EBC is NOT really that good so far...

As of today, not real happy with Electric Bike Company. We paid top dollar for bikes made in the USA and are having issues with the batteries and/or controllers (on both bikes). Tried to call, they make you send them an email to request a call back. When you send the email, this is the reply that is received (keep in mind it is June 25 - and not the approaching srping season) :

It appears they are understaffed and have no support function. Even the dealer we bought the bikes from cant get a response from them. I understand things happen and people get busy - but dont make the consumers - the people who support your business - suffer as a result of your success. Hire more help when it gets busy... this is truly a case of overpromise and underdeliver. As of today, i am wishing i had just bought a cheap overseas bike as the end result is the same! See if this gets rectified - I will gladly update this review if anything occurs that changes my perspective.

Do not do business with EBC

I am happy with the build quality of my Model J, communication and order fulfillment is another story. I ordered a rear wheel assembly over a month ago to repair my bike after a fall that caused my rear wheel to become out of balance. DHL emailed me stating my package should arrive 4/18 and a label has been created but it never came, nor has DHL ever recieved a package from EBC. After multiple attempts to contact EBC(even going as far as to post in their Facebook page, 'Electric Bike Company - Bike Owners', which was unsurprisingly removed by the moderator). At this point Electric Bike Company is actively ignoring me which is unacceptable especially after I dropped the kind of money they're asking for their bikes/parts. Even my bike mechanic at Pedego of The Woodlands, TX has been unable to get a hold of anyone from this company. I would definitely avoid this company if you are thinking of buying from them.

Frustrated by being ignored by them

I bought two e-bikes a few years ago and we've loved them. But when we went to order new batteries we got two different styles. I've been told that the 'old' style is discontinued and I need a new 4pin system. Now I only have one working bike and no way to install/the new system... and now no one is answering my emails. So frustrated with these guys.

Warning Stay away unless you have money to burn and prefer a garage statue

We purchased 2 bikes for Christmas. Buyer beware, try out customer service and support before you buy for a taste of what you will get in the event you need assistance after a purchase. My husband has had his bike 1 week and the pedal assist doesn't work along with a few other items essentially making the bike unusable. No contact from them on how to get this repaired. We have a laundry list of unanswered contact from the time the bike was bought (early Jan) until delivery (notified by text messsge by shipping company day of 3/5/25). The good reviews you read be Leary of as now having the bikes and needing repair I am perplexed how night and day the reviews are when posting about the customer service. Look up the BBB complaints as well they are an F. We are now starting a dispute with our credit card and EBC can send for a return for this $3400 pos. update- the day after I wrote this review, my bike is on the fritz with the cadence not working right and feeling when I ride the bike it is pulling me back. A dispute will be made now on my bike and the best resolve is both of these get picked up because we don't want them and the continual issues we see ahead. Very sad they are beautiful bikes but it ends after that. $6400 what a headache and crime this whole expierence has been.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company. There is no customer service. My wife's 3200 bike came with the wrong seat and tires. Additionally the fork and handlebars were loose. Although they did send me tires and a seat I paid 86.00 for it to be installed at their request. I was never reimbursed.
You cannot reach anyone by phone. Stay away from them

EBC unresolved issues

This company’s customer support has changed since we acquired 2 bikes in the fall of 2023. We have been trying to resolve issues for quite some time. You can no longer talk to someone in customer support. Email communication is unanswered. BTW they have a BBB rating of F. I will update my review, if they respond to our latest attempt to resolve issues with one of the two bikes purchased. Stand by.

First let me say that I really love my…

First let me say that I really love my e-Bike X that I have had for three years...when it works! Trouble is, when the bike doesn't work it really doesn't work. In three years of ownership my bike has been in an EBC authorized e-bike repair shop almost six months. It's back in a different e-bike repair shop now, the original e-bike shop will not take in any EBC bikes because they are so fed up with the total lack of service and a willingness to take responsibility for anything related to their bikes. I have called so many times for a technical person to call me back with absolutely no response. I give the actual bike five stars, but if you don't live in California, which I do not, I give the company one star or less for service.

This company is truly a scam

I purchased a custom built bike that was over $3k. The bike was supposed to take 6 weeks but took 3 months to complete. When I received it, it had 6 differences than the bike that I ordered. Different colors, different components and missing accessories.
We called the customer service number every day with no response. Finally we chose the phone option to purchase a new bike and someone answered. They said that the parts that were supposed to be on my bike were out of stock so they just used other parts and shipped it without the accessories because they didn’t have them either. They promised a call back from the sales manager but no one ever called. Finally after 6 weeks of calling and emailing, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I sent an email telling them to please arrange to ship the bike back because I didn’t want it. I have no confidence that if anything would go wrong with the bike, it could ever get fixed. I can’t imagine this company will be in business long, treating customers as they do.

Good Product, Awful Support

I really enjoy my bike, but dealing with EBC in any manner is like pulling teeth. After I was in an accident and needed some replacement parts it took nearly a month for the parts to ship and another two weeks to deliver despite them being listed as in stock when ordered. Customer service is generally difficult to get ahold of or doesn't have access to the information needed. In my several week quest to get my bike working again (it still isn't) I've had four ignored emails, seven calls not answered and three instances of online chat support just ghosting me after a few messages. All just to get some basic information on when a single replacement part would ship so I can repair the vehicle they sold me.

This bike is my only vehicle and tipping it over once took it out of service for nearly six weeks which cost me a ton in additional transport due to that downtime.

Given that the main reason I chose EBC was due to the availability of replacement parts for sale, seeing the reality of how much of a pain it is to actually get those parts from them is making me regret purchasing a bike from them regardless of the quality of the bike. I expect better service for a several thousand dollar product.
