I write as a supplier of this company! we are currently trying to get paid for the work we have undertaken!
The debt collectors are being ignored as are we!
Do not use this company, they do not pay their suppliers or even engage in communication with them once the invoice arrives

Paid for a Double story extension Feb last year. He was happy to take my money but has not completed the work.
I have a foundation & base but not much else. No progress for nearly half a year now.

One year on and my single storey extension is still not finished, The builder said that my single extension should take about six weeks to build, at the time I took that with a pinch of salt however I never expected it would take a over a year, work began on the build in September 2019, its now October 2020, in the last ten weeks the builders have been here for just two hours which was a week ago to lay a bit of concrete on my neighbours side where the foundations were dugout, On the 15th May the Builder asked me to settle the account saying that he would get his builders to finish the build by the end of the following week, his builders arrived they worked for just two days without finishing the build, its now 4 months later and the build is still not finished, The bifold doors that the builder supplied do not have the single opening that I requested, "I have two dogs so I needed a single opening door because the dogs need to use the garden several times in the day, it’s a nightmare having to open two doors to let the dogs out, its even worse when we have the cold weather because all the cold air comes in and rain when its raining " the doors supplied will not lock from the outside and after just 3 months the roller on the lead door broke off so the bifolds do not close properly which means that my house is not secure, I dare not open the doors completely because I am not sure that I can close them again, the builder is aware of this yet he's done nothing to rectify the problems “the BiFolds cannot not have a Guarantee with them otherwise he would have fixed some of the issues”. I sent the builder an email at the start of the build requesting a single opening door on the Bifolds despite his acknowledgement from his iphone to my email he denied ever receiving my email. I also stressed my need for a single opening door when he came to measure up for the Bifolds. The Bifold are not fit for purpose. the builder will not tell me where he got the doors from, his last reply to me was that the company that he got them off no longer make UPVC Bifolds anymore, that does not resolve the issues. its been months now and when it rains water runs off my roof and my neighbour’s roof onto my new extension roof it then goes straight on to my garden because they have not fitted a hopper and down pipe to collect the rain water which will need connecting to the drain, In May the builders laid sand outside the Bifold doors ready for new paving stones the builders never returned so I have had to cover the sand up with loft boards to stop my dogs bringing the sand into the house. Since February my small front garden has been filled with rubbish some of which has been bought there from other sites, its embarrassing when my neighbours comment "do you think your build it will take another year to finish" the positive thing is the build is good, the workforce are good, The problem is the lack of customer commitment by the builder to complete the work in a reasonable time and sort out the issues with the Bifolds.

My wife and I went out to competitive tender for a garage conversion and ground floor remodelling with new kitchen, utility room and shower room.
John’s quote was competitive and he gave me confidence that he knew exactly what we wanted.
We are about half way through the job and we are really pleased with the standard of the work.
The builders discuss the tasks and logistics with me regularly and I’m looking forward to some significant steel work going in next week.
My neighbour commented that he had never seen such a tidy worksite.
So far so good. I would certainly recommend Elegant Home Upgrades as a company who knows their business.

At lockdown that was the last I saw of the decent team.

It went down hill very quickly after that.

Poor workmanship including walls so bad they had to be knocked down and re-built; then they stopped work altogether and did not respond to my calls and emails.

It started so well but ended so disappointingly.

The staff is friendly and John was always ready to listen to any requests we made at any time during the build and alter something if we felt it necessary. Costs are extremely competitive and work commenced on time shortly after we got the quotation. We have no hesitation in recommending Elegant Home Upgrades.
