Paddington Recreation Ground /gym is a place that is ideal for all individuals who want to be happy and healthy. So much to choose from, track and field, basketball and soccer courts, playground for kids and great gym. The staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. Honestly will keep recommending it to my friends and family.

Paddington Rec is my "second home" because all the staff are efficient, helpful and pleasant. The coaches are all excellent. I benefit from my coaching both in the gym and on the tennis courts. My level of fitness has improved (I am 89 years old) and I am quite competitive!

I use the gym at Paddington Rec 4/5 times a week. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. It's always clean and the facilities are good. I'm severely visually impaired,so always require some assistance and the staff are always happy to assist.

Men’s changing room is a health hazard. Mould everywhere, smells horrible. Also needs more equipment, not enough to go around.

My son has attended tennis classes at Paddington Rec for over a year on a Wednesday afternoon after nursery.

He has now started reception at a school further away so in July I changed the tennis class to the Saturday as we wouldn’t have been able to make the Wednesday session on time. I have screenshots of the booking confirmation and of the payments.

We arrived to the first Saturday lesson to be told it’s fully booked and that he wasn’t on the list and that he was still registered for the Wednesday session.

I spoke to the coach and centre office and showed the screenshots etc and left it with them to resolve. Of course “the manager isn’t in until Monday but they will contact you”. And of course no one contacted me at all this week.

Went to attend the second session today to again be told he’s on the Wednesday session and can’t attend the Saturday despite that being what I signed up for and booked.

To make things worse they had informed the coach of this but couldn’t even be bothered to let us know instead allowing us to make our way there to be turned away and fobbed off.

At some point since I took that screenshot they seem to have reallocated him back to the Wednesday session. Since me attending the office last week they have now removed him from all tennis so he isn’t even booked onto that. All without contacting me once and still charging me.

It feels like some shenanigans have occurred with my space and some pushy parent has managed to get them to swap us around or something.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the cleaning quality of Everyone Active gym and the gym instructors of resources towards cleaning rather than helping customers. As a regular gym-goer, hygiene is of utmost importance to me, and I have noticed a decline in the cleanliness standards at your facility.
Firstly, the Everyone Active gym equipment appears to be neglected in terms of regular cleaning and maintenance. Sweat marks and dust accumulate on machines, indicating a lack of attention from the cleaning staff. This not only compromises the overall appearance of the gym but also raises concerns about the potential spread of bacteria and infections among users.
Furthermore, I find it frustrating that the gym staff seems overly preoccupied with cleaning duties rather than assisting customers. While cleanliness is essential, it should not come at the cost of a customer-oriented approach. It is disheartening to see gym instructions spending more time cleaning surfaces than helping and guiding customers in achieving their fitness goals. This hinders the supportive environment that a gym should strive to provide, making it difficult for users to seek guidance or address their concerns readily.
In order to maintain a positive and sanitary workout environment, I highly suggest reviewing and improving the cleaning protocols at your gym. Additionally, it is essential to strike a balance between cleaning responsibilities and customer assistance. By doing so, you will significantly enhance the overall gym experience and ensure customer satisfaction.

Paddington Rec has a well equipped gym which is open, spacious and airy. The staff is helpful and users are polite. The gym is always clean and anti-bac stations are placed strategically.

UPDATE: RESPONSE TO EA's reply:

2,3&4: Dumbest reply ever. You can't simply quote your T&C's and make your practices legal. The question is WHY don't you allow refunds, WHY don't you let customers cancel online, WHY don't you let them use the credit online? You can't simply write illegal practices into your T&C's and make them legal.

I have contacted Westminster Council about this, and will be going over to see our local representative about this issue this week. Kindly watch this space.

Everyone Active seems to be running its business completely unchecked by the Westminster Council. I have started using their tennis courts at the Paddington Recreation Grounds these last 3 months, and have found the following (some illegal!) practices that the Westminster Council needs to reprimand Everyone Active for:

1. Charging exorbitant prices for tennis courts: How is it possible for a council sanctioned recreation centre to charge £19 per hour for tennis courts?? Why does the council allow for such abusive prices? How are normal people expected to pay for these?

2. It's possible to book a court on the website or app, but it is not possible to cancel the booking. To cancel the booking, one must call Everyone Active. The problem is - it is near impossible to get them on the phone! How is this allowed?? Why can't they implement a simple cancellation function on their app and website? This is 2023! Clearly this is done so that Everyone Active can make money.

3. The cancellation policy does not allow for a cash or card refund. Money is added to your "account". This is true even if its raining and no play is possible. How is this legal?? This is literally an illegal practice! How does the council allow this??

4. The refund credited to ones account can't be used when booking a court on the app or the website. You can't even see the credit in your online account. You can only use the credit by calling or going over in person! This means that if you don't keep a personal log of the refund, you can easily forget there is money in your account and Everyone Active gets to keep it. Again, illegal! It's 2023 - why can't I see and use my credit on an online booking??

Everyone Active is getting away with fraud and the council is doing nothing. Shame on Westminster Council!

my friend has suffered greatly because they are not giving her a refund even though she was charged without her consent. everyone active is utterly unfair and this treatment is totally uncalled for. i will be spreading the word about this and i hope nobody else suffers this treatment.

I had a membership for one month (which they never specified would be renewed automatically) whilst i was in the uk on holiday. then they charged me for two more months because i had no idea how to cancel the payment. Now they REFUSE to give me back MY £60! Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS and they are absolute THIEVES. I have never had such a TERRIBLE experience with any company before and I WILL NEVER GO TO EVERYONE ACTIVE EVER AGAIN and furthermore highly DISCOURAGE anyone from using their cheap facilities. Any and every other company I have ever needed a refund from for this kind of issue has always automatically refunded the money without any dispute but I have been talking to everyone active customer service for WEEKS and They are still REFUSING to refund my money! Disgusting and atrocious situation.

My visits to my local Everyone Active are always a real benefit. It is never packed, so everyone has space to use all machines. The Gym has clean changing rooms and toilets that are cleaned regularly. It appears to be fully staffed by people who are approachable and helpful.
I also go to a regular class that is taken by a qualified instructor who is exemplary in including everyone and knowledgable about all members needs.

I JOINED THE GYM AT THE PADDINGTON RECREATION GROUND IN JANUARY 2022. IT IS GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY, THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY, AND MY PERSONAL TRAINER IS EXCELLENT.
