It takes forever to pay for an activity and they need your full name which is wierd.
The changing rooms are quite dirty with green slime, hair and rubbish. (This was a definite change from when the centre was under Everyone Active)

Renewed a membership, paid in full, I only use sauna, now it says the sauna is out of order for the foreseeable. When you email to complain you get automated replies about freezing my membership due to injury and can't even reply. Over £400 down and not even decent customer service. Luckily Imperium Gym will be opening and be opening near by, with better facilities, sauna and customer service

I’m just going in to my second year of being a member of Everyone Active Westgate in Chichester. I’m a serial gym changer so this is unusual for me. I’m enjoying the varied fitness classes, the instructors are well trained, and the classes are easy to book online. The studio is large and can accommodate 30 plus so there’s almost always a good chance to get into a class. The gym upstairs is well equipped, and there’s a nice big pool. I’m about to start Pickleball. The premises is possibly going to be taken over and hopefully renovated next year which is well deserved and exciting. All the staff and members are friendly, it has a welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of parking. All my boxes are ticked

I use this gym regularly because I live locally. I pay annually and for £380 a year upfront, I think represents good value for swim, gym & classes..Westgate is used by thousands of people every single week, of course there is going to be wear & tear. I know for a fact the building and locker area is cleaned daily. How do i know, because i see the staff do it. Perhaps those who wish to gripe about litter or rubbish or flaws should understand that its not the staff leaving it or damaging it, its YOU the public..Perhaps you should learn to respect the building youre using and teach the young to do the same.Ive
rarely if ever had an issue with the staff. If you're stupid enough not to notice pay & display machines in a carpark and not get yourself a ticket then you deserve a fine. Forgetting is not an excuse, it's stupidity. WiFi works fine.. I don't feel entitled like some of the comments and overall my experience of Westgate is positive. Great job..
Extremely Disappointed
Extremely Disappointed — Avoid if You Value Consistency and Progress
After investing over a year of time and money into swimming lessons for my daughter, I can confidently say it’s been a complete waste. She learned more in one week on holiday than she did in an entire year at this swim school.
There has been absolutely no consistency — she’s had around 15 different teachers in that time, making it impossible for her to build confidence or make real progress. Each new teacher brought different approaches, and no one ever seemed to know her level or learning needs.
After raising concerns (first being dismissed by a rude receptionist), I eventually received an apologetic response from the swim manager promising to look into it. But weeks and two more teacher changes later, there was still no progress report or even a holding update.
I sent a final email to formally withdraw my daughter from lessons and express my disappointment — not even a courtesy reply. Just an automated message confirming cancellation of my Direct Debit.
This place is unprofessional, disorganised, and shows zero respect for loyal customers. I strongly advise others to avoid wasting time and money here — there are better-run and more caring alternatives elsewhere.

Gym facilities are incredibly poor
Gym facilities are incredibly poor. The weights and cardio machines are to standard but of course there's more to a gym than that.
WiFi is absolutely shocking in the weights area, cutting out consistently and doesn't work with reddit as the wifi has no public protections.
Air conditioning in the main cardio room (most important room) has been broken FOR WEEKS. Nothing is done to fix this other than dotting around large fans that do nothing for the heat. I have never known a gym to be hotter inside that outside, poor effort.
These issues would be so easy to fix but the 2 star review comes after raising these issues on deaf ears. Avoid until air conditioning is fixed at the very least.

Westgate has a first class fitness…
Westgate has a first class fitness instructor NWorton. Only improvement Westgate could make is to increase her sessions as evidence is that all her classes get fully booked with men and women on the waiting lists.

If I could put 0 stars I would. We went to sign up my farther for a membership and were waiting in the membership area. 3 members of staff on the front desk ignore us completely. I approach and get told to wait 2 minutes later, we then approach the desk again 10 minutes later to be told to wait another two minutes. We then replied we’d already been waiting 10 and the member of staff under her breath said ‘you can wait even longer now’ this behaviour is completely unacceptable and disgusting. A manager then came to the desk and told us they were busy hence why we’d been waiting so long but there were numerous members of staff on the front desk anyway.

I'm a member for swimming and have been for about 4 months now
And honestly it's a mess in the changing rooms dirt, hair and mould everywhere
Not only that but ypu never get a hour in the pool as most days they have kids from schools in the pool and they never get out in time and on top of that you have to get out 5 minutes before your hour is up some days I miss 20 minutes of swimming because of this and to top it off if you don't go and you book you are now charged £4
And let's not forget its free parking for 2 hours but if you forget to get a ticket it will cost you £60
Lane swimming is always very busy and loads of rubbish on the bottom of the pool including poop 💩 🙄

Average, just Average
Average . Just Average… here is why:
1) take IMMEDIATE payment for the final month, sure. I get this, then charge upto 1 month and x many days left in their cycle, more on that.
2) FIRST direct debit is pro-rata… ok but you just ok the first (sorry, last month) AKA you pay first month direct debit + any date from when you join upto the 23rd if the month… (this date is important
3) second direct debit should be the monthly cost for the centre you join unless you pay £10+ a month and do actually go to other gyms. Then fair.
4) The app, when joining easy to download, log in etc of the 3 people who joined when I set it up 2 of them now have plastic membership cards… why not fix the app? So the QR code works and is able to log in the provided wife is limited to sub 2000’s speed can’t stream music or other workout videos because their blocked or 3G speed, 3G was text and gif images no video or hi-res instructions.
5) The gym I joined HAS technogym equipment but can’t track using the app, perhaps TELL people they can’t use the equipment using the tracking abilities built in, with a) the Techogym app or the Everyone Active app as it won’t sync. I was told to track my progress with a notepad and a pen by the induction “professional”
6) repeated problems booking our junior member having to of 6-8 visits having to get a wristband at the entry point because they don’t log the induction properly, or allow access to the app to book. ADULTS don’t have to book… wonder why (system does not work)
7) FAR TOO HOT in main work out room in the 16+ weight room… fully air conditioned. Great but 1/3 of the time working out is spent just standing I there to cool off
8) back to the 23rd… unless you cancel before the (imo) 22nd you will be charged again another FULL month despite being charged a “final month” payment even if your membership started o the 1st of the month (most expensive to join)
9) Staff experience and friendliness (not in that way) varies… the “lady who did my daughter and wife’s induction was…. Adaquate, mine was rushed only an hour later… I am a man I don’t read manuals who reads nowadays? BUT…
10) Read the Terms & Conditions, read MORE than this review I am one person, but I have an opinion. READ other reviews of Everyone Active on trust pilot.
Cant keep ragging, here is some good stuff
1) £34.99 basic not expensive for the gym and swimming (when booked) and sauna.
2) The parent management company EA (Everyone Active) not Electronic Arts are the problem buying out council owned gym’s overtime helps out local residents. Oh snap… (bad for members)
3) accept 12-14 on limited machines (seriously limited) 14-16 expanded equipment… my 15yo is fine she can use most of the stuff but not the AC room yes, can’t walk into the only room that is air conditioned. BUT can use the 14+ gear.

Signed up for monthly plan of 32 then had to pay an additional 10 pounds
Then the next month told was going to be 60.00 then finally goes to 32.00 as originally agreed wasn't told of any 60.00 at sign up I'm now reporting this to the local mp jillian keegan very badly managed company

I think we are very lucky to have this leisure centre in Chichester. It is not expensive and offers activities for every one from children to people with disabilities and the able bodies.
