Absolutely terrible - avoid! I ordered a 20 meter piece of fabric -their website specifically asks you to say how much you need so they can cut it in one piece “ This ensures our warehouse cuts your fabric in one continuous piece.” I received my fabric in two pieces which were joined together by plastic tags. The fabric was also stained. I did not have enough fabric because of this and had to buy more to replace it. When I called to complain they offered me a coupon and said that I had never asked for it in one piece. Completely unacceptable. Avoid this place and order from somewhere else.

Before I start, I want to be clear that I'm writing about the UK based company Fabric Land (www dot fabricland dot co dot uk), as I've noticed that this company tries to flag many negative reviews as being about a Canadian store, even when the reviewers are clearly in the UK. (Trustpilot ought to look into this!)

My issue: I bought a load of fabric from Fabric Land in April, and the red cotton would not hold its dye or the colour, rendering it useless. Even after multiple washes, and even after trying to fix the dye with salt and cold water, it continued to bleed. It was no longer the bright red I wanted, but the company decided that this was my fault (rather than a manufacturing issue, which it clearly is), and refused to offer a refund or store credit.

This is the reply I received:

"Thank you for y our email, unfortunately this item has been bespoke cut and is therefore non-refundable.
Nowhere on our website do we state this as colour fast. We are always happy to send out samples of our fabrics
Before you purchase to check you are happy with the colour, quality and suitability for intended use

The company doesn't list samples as an option on any of the fabric pages, and the idea of getting samples isn't even mentioned. When I looked into this more on a separate page, it seems that samples take much, much longer to process than usual fabric orders, which would put any buyer off.

The idea that anyone would want to buy fabric that isn't colour fast is also ridiculous. The fabric bleeding this much was definitely a manufacturing error, and Fabric Land ought to have notified the company. They would have been able to send back the whole bolt and get a refund or replacement, so they could easily have refunded me.

If I hadn't pre-washed this fabric, it could have ruined the item I was making. I'll never buy from this website again.

Amazing company! Quick shipping and quality products. I ordered fabric to make voile curtains and I was really surprised with the quality for the price! I had a bit of an issue with the length of fabric I was sent and they were really friendly and happy to resend some new fabric immediately! Super happy customer.

Been using fabric land for years and never let me down even when an order was lost by the courier they sent another straight out !!

My only moan is that I couldn't get what I needed! (Jersey fabric in a baby print). Found some with lions print, nothing else though.
