It appeared to be bought new got used used item
Hi again, As you seem to be suggesting I'm lying I'll assure I'm not my only concern here is if this happens to somebody lees fortunate than myself,
I have experience in engineering and it was obvious to myself somebody had used a power tool on the screws and damaged them and one leg, for me it wasn't a problem but somebody older or disabled could have difficulty with this so I thought I would draw it to your attention that your Quality control was having problems and your fix of a 25 week wait for replacement screws and paying for new legs with an 8 week wait was not what I'd consider good customer service.

Good morning
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent purchase with us. We are sorry that you feel you have not received the high standard of product that you should expect from Fairway Furniture.
As outlined in the email sent to you on the 16th September, all stock items arrive fully packaged from the supplier and are then stored in the central warehouse, without being unpacked or assembled at any point during their time with us. The items once purchased are then delivered to our customers fully packaged, and then left for customer assembly unless Premium delivery is chosen by the customer at the time of ordering. We understand that you chose to assemble the goods yourself.
As mentioned in the email, our delivery tracker shows that your goods were delivered to you in full packing, with the legs in a separate package for you to attach to the sofa. At no point was the packaging tampered with or opened prior to delivery to your property.
We do not agree that the leg bolts were rounded off prior to delivery to your home. If the enclosed tool was used to attach the legs as you suggested in your conversation with our store team, then this would not be possible, as the “Allen key” like tool does not have the ability to cause this issue. We believe that the legs were attached with a different tool, which caused the damage to occur. As discussed, we have offered to provide you with new bolts free of charge as a good will gesture. Replacement legs would be on a chargeable basis, as we cannot agree that they were supplied like this by the manufacturer.
We apologise again that you feel that you received a used product, this is not the case, and if you would like us to order new bolts for you, please let our store team know at your earliest convenience. Kind regards – Fairway Furniture

Good morning.
As discussed in the above reply (17th September 2025), we cannot agree that the sofa legs were damaged prior to delivery to you. We can see that you did provide a photo of the damage to us on the 12th September 2025, as requested by our customer service team, but this shows the chair leg attached to the sofa, and therefore does not prove that the goods were damaged prior to assembly. As stated in our customer care pack (which again you provided a photograph of) “where an item is sold as “self assembly”……at the time of assembly of such a product it is your responsibility (or that of the third party assembling the item for you) prior to commencing assembly, to thoroughly check that all component parts are supplied and that none are damaged”. You did not notify us that items were damaged until after it was assembled by you, so we do not believe the goods arrived damaged to you, rather the damage was done through incorrect assembly.
We apologise that you are unhappy with the response you have received, and we ask that you speak to our customer service team in store, who are happy to try and bring this to a satisfactory conclusion for you. Kind regards – Fairway Furniture

I came to the Tavistock Store on 9.8.25. I was met by Geogie Dunn. I knew which furniture I was interested in and Georgia took me to the display. She was very pleasant and helpful throughout and with her assistance I was able to make my order. The furniture delivery date was sooner than expected which was good and the furniture was delivered at the time stated.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. We liked that you gave a free estimate for the carpet and arranged the fitting and removal of the old carpet. We were kept informed all along. The fitting of the carpet and delivery of the suite were done very efficiently.

Fairway are a great company to do business with
I have recently refurbished a bungalow and bought all the furniture from Fairway. Tom was amazing and very patient with me in arranging delivery dates etc to accommodate the refurb.
Neil was very efficient in arranging a return of a chair that was only returned because I got the size wrong.

Totally mis sold
We are pensioners, and we asked for something that was easy to look after, and we ended up buying two sofas which we later found out have to be plumped daily, which is not an option for us, and when we complained they wanted us to pay to have the cushion fillings replaced, and just kept being told the sofas are not faulty, which we knew they were not faulty but mis sold to us and not fit for purpose, would never use Fairways again, and would definately not recommend them, they are not looking after the customer, only interested in getting a sale. Plus the Manager was very rude. They did send out a independant inspector, which only confirmed what we already knew, that it was not faulty, but not fit for our purpose, and also the ombudsman also said not faulty sofas, should be a law against selling things which are not suitable, especially as we outlined health issues before we bought, so why did they think it was okay to sell us something with daily maintainance, never in all our years have had a sofa that needed plumping at all, and they think this is okay

Good morning Mrs Miller.
You reported this issue to the store in Tavistock in May 2025, upon which we sent our own inspector to review the items in your home. This found no manufacturing fault.
We then arranged with the supplier for an independent inspector to visit, and they reported the same - no manufacturing issue.
The sofas you chose in store and which we delivered were to the specification ordered, and we fully refute any assertion made by you that you were somehow mis-sold the items.
As a gesture of goodwill and in an effort to offer a resolution, we offered to pay 50% of the cost of replacing the cushion interiors (so that you did not have to pay the whole amount, as your review incorrectly implies), but you refused this resolution.
We therefore suggested you take your dissatisfaction to the independent Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman, which you did. However, they did not uphold your claim.
We are sorry that you feel we have not sought to look after you as the customer, but that is most certainly not what we have done in this instance.

I have had contact for over 40 years now with Penny Craze who I believe is. Director with Fairway. I have made many purchases throughout these years. The service she provides is absolutely first class and could not be improved upon! She leads a fab team and on this occasion was served by Georgia who was great , efficient and very lovely too!

Great all round service
As a local letting agent, I was asked to liaise with Fairway to have some items delivered and put together prior to a tenant arriving. The lady on the phone was brilliant and the delivery guys were amazing! Attentive, quick, efficient and amusing - which always helps! Great work guys!
