Charged for a tax refund I never received.
I'm being chased for fees on a tax refund I never received. HMRC issued a P800 in error as I'm self-employed as well as having two employments. The figures were all wrong, when I contact HMRC they withdrew it but fast track are still trying to charge me a fee based on it. I didn't even realise they were listed as my agent from a PPI claim about 10 years ago.

Terrible
Terrible, thought it would be more straightforward than going to HMRC, but actually it is super simple to just check direct with HMRC. I believe I probably saw this on an advert and gave it a go, but actually then just went to HMRC directly to sort. HMRC then issued a small tax refund owed of £14.60, to which soon after, Fast Track Reclaim sent me an invoice for the full £14.60 even though it was direct with HMRC. Obviously something in the small print. I’ve since asked for a copy of their T&Cs to check my actual signature is there, as I can’t even remember signing up with them, and cannot find any paperwork , emails or anything else relating to any correspondence with them! Will update the review if they can actually find paperwork that has my legitimate signature and details.

Before you engaged our services, the T&C were displayed on screen to be read to ensure that you were making an informed decision as to whether to proceed with claims through FTR.
The T&C explained that you could make a claim directly with HMRC at no cost, that the service we offered was ongoing until cancelled and how you could cancel should you wish to, and also the fee structure in the event that we received or were informed of refunds from HMRC.
Despite being under no obligation to proceed through FTR if you could not agree to the T&C, you confirmed that you had read and agreed to them.
When we were notified that you were due a tax refund, an invoice was issued in line with the T&C you agreed to.
The emails you sent to us shortly before leaving this review, after our office had closed yesterday, have been located and a copy of the T&C, along with the documents you uploaded to support your claim, will be attached to the reply.

I want to share my experience so others are aware. Fast Track Reclaim invoiced me over £200 for a refund that HMRC issued directly to me due to a tax code error — nothing to do with FTR’s efforts.
When I complained, they dismissed it, saying their terms and conditions allow them to take a fee from any refund HMRC notifies them about. In my opinion, this is unfair, misleading, and highly questionable.
From reading other Fast Track Reclaim reviews on forums and consumer sites, I can see this is not an isolated case. Many customers mention hidden fees, unexpected charges, and poor complaint handling.
I personally do not trust this company with my bank or card details and have only offered a token payment under protest.
👉 My advice: avoid tax rebate companies like this and claim directly through HMRC for free.

AS such, there are no hidden fees or unexpected charges, as you have falsely claimed.

As you had never requested to cancel, our service continued and when we were made aware of a refund that you had received, you were invoiced in line with the T&C you agreed to and this is the reason that your complaint was not upheld.
There are negative reviews of FTR online but as review sites do not ask reviewers to verify that they have been clients of ours, there are no guarantees that the reviews are of genuine experiences with FTR and we often find that when negative reviews have been left and the reviewers also complain to us, it is simply that they did not read the T&C when they engaged our services but clicked to say that they had, and that they agreed to them, as you appear to have done.

Got a call saying they needed more information about a claim but I have no recollection of signing with here people asked if there were ever know by another name but said no now waiting on then seeing me over what I allegedly signed as I have had no corespodence from them what so ever

Had a refund of £109 from HMRC And they took £83 of it, when I didn't pay immediately as I had to contact HMRC To recieve the money which took a few days they started sending threatening messages that I would have legal action taken against me.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

After receiving a reply below I thought I'd update, I wrote an email stating the cost was way too high and that i had now paid, I then recieved a rather abrupt email stating I signed the terms and conditions so I knew the cost , and asked for my payment proof to show I'd paid, I then thought I'd ask for the said signed terms and conditions, no reply until 2 further emails from me to them stating they had charged me too much and I'd recieve a £40 odd quid refund .....imagine the amount of people that don't question the obscene charges and let these lot get away with ripping them off !!!!
As I said before , AVOID at all costs !!!

Thank you for providing additional details when requested.
When there is a fee outstanding on an account, our collections process is automated, with emails and text messages sent at regular intervals until the fee is settled, and although these become more direct in tone as the process nears its end, threatening messages are not sent saying that legal action will be taken unless immediate payment is made, as you have falsely claimed.
If a client has not received their refund and informs us of this, we can then defer this process to allow time for the refund to be received but we can only do this if we are informed of the situation and unfortunately, you only chose to make us aware of this in your review on this site after you had made payment.

Do not use this company you can legally make a claim against any mis sold payday loans credit cards or anything DO NOT USE COMPANIES LIKE THIS THAT CHARGE YOU FEES. you cannot get through to them via phone you have to email them. Lesson Learned do not use these people they will RIP YOU OFF!

Beware!!! I used this company in 2022 and they got me a tax rebate but what I didn't know is recently I made a claim on my own, I filled in the tax form myself and received a refund but apparently hidden in your contract with this company is you owe them a third of every single tax refund you ever claim for the rest of your life even if you claim the refund yourself. The contract for the initial claim should be terminated after the claim has been processed but because it's not terminated automatically you owe this company 1/3 of every tax refund you receive for life. This practice is very underhanded. It's like buying from uber eats once and then having to pay uber every time you go into your kitchen to make a sandwich. They made a claim for me once and now everytime I make a claim on my own with no help from fast track I still have to pay them. That's f.....g mental. My advice is to do what I've done and contact them and end any contract you have with them. It's ridiculous that the contract doesn't automatically end after your initial claim had been settled. Regarding your reply, I've still had no reply regarding the cancellation that I've requested and I've provided you with the everything you need to cancel and yes I was aware that I needed to give you a percentage of this recent tax claim but thats because I have no choice but to give you it or you'll take me to court. I also want the cancellation of the contract in writing at the earliest opportunity,otherwise they'll be a lengthy delay in the payment of your percentage of MY tax refund. Thanks

Fraudsters of the highest order!
Immigrated from the country, in doing so I submitted a P85 to HRMC and was issued a tax rebate of around 5k for the year.
Fast Track then wrote to me claiming to have obtained a rebate on my behalf charging me circa £1500.
Followed their complains process - obviosuly they were unable to answer my request to demonstrate their part in this rebate.
Instead the advised of changing their terms and conditions and elluded to an email confirming this which I never seen or accepted - shamelessly fraudulent with bully boy tactics to try and scare people into paying up.
Stand your ground with these clowns and let them prove it in court

FTR are not scammers or fraudsters and only act on behalf of clients who have engaged our services after confirming that they have read and agreed to the T&C presented on screen.
The service offered by FTR is ongoing until cancelled and when your initial refund was received and processed, you were made aware of this by email, which shows that you received and opened it, and would have allowed you to contact us to cancel the service had you wished, but you did not and instead you unsubscribed to further emails, however, this does not cancel the ongoing service.
The complaint resolution you received advised of a change to the T&C as you received an email regarding this, which would have alerted you to the ongoing service and again this email showed as being delivered to you and opened, but no contact was received to cancel.
When we were notified that a refund was due to you, this was worked in line with the T&C you agreed to and an invoice was issued, but this was not settled, and at the end of the collections process, it was referred to our solicitors for further recovery action.
FTR has no further input into this case and any future contact or queries should be directed to the solicitors.

My son received a HMRC letter stating that he hade a tax rebate due Nice Only to find that without his knowledge or understanding he had instructed these scammers to act on my behalf out of the £184.12 due they sent him a cheque for £68.58???
Contacted HMRC for him and been advised to never go near these again and to withhold any correspondence with them BE AWARE please..

Your son could not have instructed Fast Track Reclaim without his knowledge as our Terms & Conditions (T&C) are presented on screen to be read and the potential client is asked to confirmed that they have read and understood them.
Emails are also sent to the address provided and if the client has changed their mind, they can cancel the agreement within the 14-day cooling off period, however, we cannot be held responsible is someone says they have read and agreed to the T&C, which include the contingency fee structure in the event of a successful claim, without actually doing so.

Received an email and invoice from these saying I owe them 300 quid for service, service for what I've never received ppi nor a tax refund payment through them. I'll be ignoring this. Quickly finance assossiated with this company took received and cashed my HMRC tax rebate of 114 I've never received any of it. Robbers.
