Just what we wanted as our fireplace had no inset

The fire came with a spacer fitted but needed 2 to fit against the surround as the opening was too small. The pre-drilled holes were not quite in line and the spacer needed some judicious adjustment with a block of wood and a hammer. No screws were supplied and the paint was a different batch and didn’t quite match. All in all it looks good but wasn’t straight forward to fit.

Nothing wrong with the product except that it's a different colour to the fire it was matched with

Does the job it was bought for. Holes on one side were 2mm out and had to be redrilled, an easy fix but annoying. Wish it came in black to match the fire.

The screws were very awkward

It’s dark grey, not black, and so does not match the Adams Comet fire it is designed to go with. We discovered this after we had wired the fire in. Fireplace World then basically replied saying this was the only colour they stock. No solution, no help. The spacer itself feels flimsy, but is essentially the same as the ‘frame’ on the fire itself (except for the colour 🙄). I asked if Fireplace World would offer a discount on postage if we ordered a 2nd, in order to replace the ‘frame’ on the fire, so they match. Again, no help. They simply asked if I wanted to order another. I said yes, but again asked if anything could be done given I was having to buy 2 and pay postage twice, due to them having grey not black. No reply after a week. Customer service is appalling. Product makes the fire look cheap as clearly a different colour. Avoid!!!
