MailWasher Pro has been a really useful addition to my email setup. If your inbox is constantly being flooded with spam, junk mail, and unwanted messages, it provides a simple and effective way to deal with them before they reach your email client.

One of the things I like most is the ability to preview messages and identify unwanted emails before downloading them. Been using Mailwasher almost since it became available. Back then I had mutliple email addresses, for businesses and personal. Semi-Retired now and down to one but I keep Mailwasher pro going because it saves me a bunch of time and stress. I can get rid of spam without it ever touching my machine. I can quickly browse emails for people I do want to stay in touch with and decide whether they need answering or even keeping at all, and so I ditch a lot more without them ever getting into my Outlook as well. It saves me a lot of time cleaning Outlook up later. Over the many years I have had very few needs for support but they have always been very responsive when I did ask a question or have an issue. I think Mailwasher is worth its weight in gold.

As a long time Mailwasher user I wanted a VPN to use on holiday to continue to watch BBC and Netflix UK so opted for Hideaway. Easy to install, some preset rules were all I needed (to redirect browser to London) although there were a detailed configurable set that experts could play with. It worked fine during the two week vacation and was worth it for that alone so I recomend it. Date shown is vacation start. As others have mentioned, when I had a query, NIck replied from NZ promptly; this has always been my experience with him.

I joined Firetrust’s affiliate program with the expectation of fair reporting and timely payments. Unfortunately, after more than a year, they have not paid out commissions. Reports are either missing or incomplete, and most commissions are canceled without any clear explanation. This lack of transparency and accountability makes the program feel like a scam. A company that operates this way cannot be trusted, and I strongly advise others to stay away from their affiliate program.

MailWasher has been a game-changer for managing email junk and spam. I've beeen using Mailwasher for so long now that I can't imagine life without it - I get to analyse every suspicious email at the server before it gets to my PC. I can't count the hundreds of times over the past 15 years that it has been instrumental in averting potential email borne disaster.

Mailwasher Pro is a mess, now every few month errors and they are still fine with this. The updates are like playing a slot machine game. I have other things to do as to try to recuperate my mails. Best answer from the team : Who still use yahoo ?

After a torrid time trying to rid myself of unwanted M*c*osoft (which I had never wanted) I found I had lost some essential data and apps including the excellent Mailwasher Pro. (Beats me how the whole world doesn't use this with all the bogus emails these days).
Reinstalled Mailwasher... but my licence key had been wiped out- took Nick a matter of a few hours to reply and I'm up and running again. Doesn't get any better than that.

I have recently purchased a vpn subscription with this company and I am very impressed with their service. Almost every VPN provider claims to have the fastest speeds, but in reality they are usually very disappointing. I have tried dozens of vpns over the years and found that only very few of them actually offer good performance in terms of connection speeds. Even fewer of these companies offer good software. Firetrust excels in both of these areas. Their software is incredibly stable and customizable. You can choose whether you want your entire computer to be connect to the vpn or just individual processes. You can choose categories (e.g. browsers or filesharing software) of applications to use the vpn or have your entire pc use it. With this application you get a level of control that usually is only available to administrators with intimate knowledge of wfp or iptables. The only downside of this service is that don't offer support for a variety of platforms, only windows at this point in time. I can't speak to things such as logging as I have no way to evaluate that. Even though they don't advertise this, hideaway vpn(that's their actual product name) let's you watch all kind of content. American services, british services, japanese services, they all worked for me. I have a connection of 1gbps and I get consistently > 700mbs with this company. This if fast enough for me to always keep their software running. I can not overemphasize how good this service actually is.

Mailwasher.net = ZERO responses.
If you export blacklist from Outlook 365 and import into MW Pro there is no way to get that list out of MW Pro even as a txt file.
a) I believe it’s a way of keeping you hooked into MW Pro.
b) Save your Junk / Blacklist to a separate text file, before uploading it into MW Pro otherwise you will lose all your hard work done creating your Outlook Junk Mail list as MW Pro only allows you to clear the Backlist, not good if you click on it by accident.
You are advised (as I was) to use Outlook in offline mode so that MW Pro takes control (dubious) and filters before Outlook does its own downloads from the servers.
Strangely, emails still get through to outlook inboxes even though MW Pro is supposed to have filtered out the SPAM. The filtering seems to be simply ignored by MW Pro about 50% of the time.
The offending domain names are all in the Blocked List but MW Pro just randomly ignores them.
For example: Domain Names and extensions I block in this way e.g. pest spamname .extension as follows: -
a) .xyz
b) *.xyz
c) @spamname.xyz
d) *@spamname.xyz
e) pest @spamname.xyz
Note: *is a MW Pro wild card
But blocked emails still get through.
To continue my test, I have set MW Pro and Outlook 365 each to scan at 10 mins with approximately Outlook set up 1 min after MW Pro as far as I can tell, so that:
a) Allow MW Pro to get first bite of the check and
b) So that Outlook does not have to be set offline.
Unfortunately, there is no way, in either program, to be able to sync or link such searches to Internet Time so there is no way I can really determine which is working first. I have questioned this and suggested it but a response is that it is not provided.
So some SPAM emails come in directly into Outlook and some get caught by MW Pro, not satisfactory.
Trying to get support from Firetrust became a ‘no go’ in that area because they gave me answers which were not related to my problems, prompting me to ask them again, producing no response at all.
I am now convinced that the Outlook blocking system although simple is better and more effective. As you block emails, they are placed into a Junk folder and then all that needs to be done is to empty the folder periodically, that is actually no problem and far less messing about having to deal with MW Pro and Outlook at the same time.

Sadly because of the ‘cons’ there are no ‘Pros’ for me, it is unreliable and takes extra time to try and sort out actions with no guaranteed success.
Would I recommend this program NO! Would I recommend this Company NO.

Inline with Mailwasher Money Back Guarantee I decided that there was no benefit from continuing with Mailwasher so I requested a refund directly from their CEO name available on the internet at their email domain name address as there is no way of using a refund request form as there was none to be found on their website (Con), probably they don’t want to have a form where you are asked why you want a refund and anyway they will not respond to me as a customer.
So do I get any response from the CEO of course not, nothing at all.
Recourse: request a refund from my Credit Card. which is what I have done.
The bottom line here is that this becomes a SCAM just like the emails they claim they are trying to stop.
What Microsoft needs to do: Outlook is very powerful in Spam/Junk area but some minor improvement will help tremendously:
1. Include a ‘Bounce’ feature in Outlook 365.
2. Include simplified Domain Name Blocking in addition to email address blocking. It can be done in the Junk Mail option but it is too fiddly.
3. Another improvement would be to introduce a definable time for email update searches such as: the ability to define searches to a specific time e.g. 10 minutes past the hour and to be able to search say every 15 minutes but this needs to be totally user defined (Note: this second part is in Outlook already), this would help with anybody using MW Pro as you currently do not know which program is searching for emails first not that MW Pro appear to be interested in doing the same, one can only hope.

29/03/2023 Alleged improvements in Mailwasher Pro However, the upgrade did not work properly and spam still gets through, directly into Outlook. So have abandoned MW Pro completely and use Outlook 365. At least now I will only have to monitor and work with only one Program.

I bought a lifetime prescription for their Mailwasher Pro software and needed to re-install it after an upgrade to my PC and they sent the new code for it. No problems just did as they promised.
