Hashim Hunaidi, at First Tech, has been helping me with my accounts for the last 6 months. I dropped him an email today, late Friday before a long weekend, expecting to hear back next week. I received a phone call minutes later, we chatted, discussed a current time-sensitive question, worked out a plan to resolve the matter, and scheduled a future meeting to close it out. Excellent personal financial service!

Benny was very informative and very helpful. He helped me manage my accounts, and would respond quickly with an answer to my texts. He would solve any problem quickly or would pass it to someone who could help. Of course he would follow up to make sure that the problem was resolved.

I have had a wonderful experience all the way around with everything I’ve ever had to do with my banking! A special thank you to Velle who works at the Cornell Branch! She is always so sweet and seems happy to help me! I’ve never felt so cared about with a bank/ credit union and I really put my TRUST in her and the whole team there! I have been a member of the CU since it opened up on the Beaverton Campus. I still have my old membership id card. Most of the processes and policies are very good, however it is very frustrating to try to call a branch office and the only number is the 888 # located out of Oregon. I recently went to the Cornell branch to take care of my required RMD and I think the procedure to do this is very cumbersome. With some adjusting perhaps it could be streamlined.

Patrik Barrios at the Hillsboro Tanasbourne branch was outstanding. He was very kind and helpful working with a recent refugee who did not speak English. He very carefully was able to remedy the issues of dealing with unauthorized charges on her account, and made important suggestions and was able to implement measures to secure the account for her. Many kudos to Patrik for his kindness, patience, and careful work. Thank you!

Less than stellar and steadily declining over the past 30 years.
We just completed a mortgage refi and it was challenging. After uploading all our docs, we were told (erroneously) that we needed to wait 3 months after coming out of Covid-related mortgage deferral. Turned out we only needed to wait until making 3 payments. That error delayed our application a month and cost us significantly as interest rates rose AND we had to re-upload all the required documentation again even though our previously uploaded docs were still available online.
It was frustrating that we had to work with no fewer than 5 people in the Mortgage department to get the mortgage refi completed. My previous refi only required us to work with 2 CU employees.
During the closing process, First Tech double-paid our home insurance and it took Customer Service 3 weeks to get back to me when I inquired online about it.
The survey that we got from FTCU "expired" before I resolved the above insurance payment issue so we weren't allowed to complete it.
I love the fact that FTCU doesn't sell the majority of the mortgages that they process.
I am a HUGE fan of credit unions and tell all my friends to leave their big, national banks behind, but every year it's harder and harder to recommend FTCU.

The student loan department, service and support deserve eleven stars! Every call was received with polite professionalism. Every question was answered with sincere understanding. Communication was beyond reproach. Customer service was exceptional.
