I received a Travel Centre voucher for my birthday while currently studying abroad, and Tyla Ackerman was absolutely incredible in helping me make the most of it. She went above and beyond with all my bookings, was patient throughout the process, and consistently helped me find the best deals possible. Her communication, efficiency, and genuine willingness to help made the whole experience stress-free and exciting. She was warm, friendly, quick with responses, saw and alerted us to a problem we had not picked up on the 6 month expiry restriction on my passport and held our bookings whilst we resolved that. From the moment I first enquired about our trip, Tyla greeted me with such warmth and genuine enthusiasm. She took the time to understand exactly what my family needed, offering thoughtful options that perfectly suited both our budget and our situation.

Unfortunately, this was the worst travel agent experience we have ever had. We booked a large family trip for 13 people (including three children) travelling from Johannesburg to Egypt (Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh) in December 2024. We specifically requested and paid for high-end 4–5 star accommodation and services, yet the overall planning and execution were extremely poor.

Significant additional costs — including compulsory New Year’s Eve gala fees costing thousands per person — were only communicated shortly before departure. These should have been disclosed upfront during the planning and booking process.

Transfers were consistently problematic throughout the trip. On arrival, only one small “money bus” taxi was arranged for 13 passengers with 26 pieces of luggage, which was completely inappropriate. Similar issues occurred multiple times in both Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh. We were forced to arrange and pay for alternative transportation ourselves just to make flights and hotel transfers. Despite already paying for transfers as part of the package, we were never refunded for the services that were not delivered.

In Cairo, an entire additional hotel room was booked and paid for unnecessarily. This room was never needed, was a complete waste of money, and was also not refunded.

Communication was extremely poor while we were overseas. When urgent issues arose, we struggled to get hold of our agent and were left to resolve problems ourselves during what was meant to be a premium family holiday.

Overall, the service was unacceptable for a trip of this scale and cost. We expected far better organisation, transparency, and accountability. We would not recommend using this agent.

My husband and I received excellent service from Tyla Ackerman at Century City. She organized a trip for us to Thailand to celebrate our 40th anniversary and everything went fantastic.

The Flight cantre agent made us book our air flight prior to getting a booking with On the go tours. I asked her specifically to find out if we have to book tickets prior to getting a tour booking & visa but she insisted on buying the tickets. I agreed as she did everything for us on a previous trip. However after 2 months she told me our trip was preponed to an earlier date & charged 2 of us approximately R 7500/- on air tickets & issued us with new tickets for the changed dates. However on reaching Istanbul we were a group of 7 from South Africa booked by different travel agents. There was a group of three booked 3 days before. Besides I realised the excess charged was not reflecting on my ticket. I realised that the change of travel was not necessary & a tour could be organised on the dates initially booked for. Flight centre would not answer to my calls for a letter for visa application. I finally had to organise my visa directly through on the go tours. I felt my trust with this agent was betrayed. There’s still a pending refund for meals not given. On the go tours said flight centre will refund me. But it hasn’t been refunded to my credit card.

Nuhaa Shah impressed me with her genuine attention to detail and her willingness to go the extra mile. She did not just book our trip - she provided thoughtful advice about destinations, helped us navigate options we hadn’t even considered and made sure every aspect of our travel experience was well-planned.
