Europeans have to pay import duties for Gap.eu purchases after Brexit
Same story here. Bought something in December from the gap.eu website and have to pay an additional 21% charge for import duties. This is since gap.eu seems to be located in Britain and I am from the Netherlands. I advise Gap to take swift action and relocate because this applies to purchases across the entire EU which amounts to a customer base of about 350 mio potential customers.

I ordered on the EU website on Jan 31st. when I got the order confirmation I realised the size was incorrect (as they advertise US sizes not EU sizes!!!!) So I emailed to cancel or edit order. They couldn't do either! They couldn't cancel as they didn't want to affect PROMPT delivery. And they couldn't change the order once it was on the system to a different size. 27 days later (PROMPT - it think not). I get a text from DPD saying that I need to pay customs!!! On an order from the EU website. Honestly this is the WORST experience I have had ordering on line ever. I love gap clothes for me and the kids. Never again.

Confiaba en la marca porque habÃa comprado en tienda fÃsica pero la tienda online tiene un servicio nefasto. Hice un pedido a mediados de diciembre que tenÃa que haber llegado hace un mes y no sé absolutamente nada. El cobro lo pasaron dos semanas tarde, me enviaron un mensaje en alemán (lo que me hace pensar que mi pedido va camino de Alemania) pero el pedido no figura en mi cuenta cliente. Si escribes a servicio al cliente te contestan con un mensaje tipo que te invita a desistir en tu reclamación (tres veces lo he intentado) y cuando llamas al número de atención (en inglés) te despachan con un mensaje grabado. Eso sÃ, llevo dos meses recibiendo dos y tres emails diarios de publicidad. No sé si les ha afectado el Brexit ni si el paquete llegará, pero empiezo a pensar que me han robado 70 â¬.

Exact same story as the other posters. Ordered late December, first time ever it wasnât shipped within 7 days, got the email promising to expedite shipping for free blah blah. It shipped in January after brexit, then sat in a hub for over a week, just got a text with a bill for â¬30 customs fee. I assumed gap eu was a European site, considering the confirmation emails have German on them...stupid me I guess.
Iâve been a customer for 15 years, here and in the US. Unfortunately thatâs it for me. I had a â¬200 order put together and almost hit the checkout button today, so glad I didnât, imagine the bill on that.
Brexit is going to severely damage this company. Iâm more annoyed at how they delayed shipping until brexit was gone through.
GAP.EU European or UK headquartered?
I recently purchased 4 items on-line from GAP.EU on the 21st Dec 2020 value of â¬165.92. Confident that I was buying goods from an EU based company. The order value was high enough to provide me free of shipping and handling costs direct to my residence in Germany, an EU country. I expected a delay as it was so close to Christmas, but I did receive the initial order confirmation which confirmed all the items and the free of shipping and handling costs.
An email was sent on the 31st December 2020, stating "When your package is available, we will expedite your shipping at no additional expense to you. You will receive a shipment notification email with tracking information. (Please note: the maximum delay you will experience is thirty days.)â
Although disappointed at the delay, it gave me confidence that no additional costs would be incurred by me on this shipment.
Then excitement on the 8th January 2021 Shipping Notification "Thanks for shopping at gap.eu. Your order #XYZ has been shipped and should arrive by 31 Dec, 2020, which was strange as that was 9 days previous, but I assumed an admin error on their part and duly waited. Eventually after a third attempt at delivery DHL Delivery Driver called me to drive 800meters down to his van where he would give me the parcel. When I arrived He then informed me of additional charges for shipping charges and EU taxes of â¬32.72. which effectively was a 20% increase on the prices, I had no clue that this was going to happen. I had no cash on me and the driver said he would pay the charge with what appeared to be a personal bank card and asked me to transfer the amount to his account which I duly did after I saw acknowledgement of the payment by DHL later on line.
GAP. EU had told me ad infinitum in all correspondence "When your package is available, we will expedite your shipping at no additional expense to you".
Then I sent an email the same day I received the goods, which I am very happy with, but not the additional charge to me.
GAP.EU Customer services which now transpires is UK based stated "Due to Brexit and DHL policy we are unable to provide reimbursement for any fees paid in regards to your parcel" and went on to say "As a gesture of our appreciation as a valued customer, we would like to offer a discount in the amount of â¬20 for a future online order" which of course is a nonsense and would not cover the shipping and handling costs for any future purchase.
During this process I discovered that rather than call a European toll free number you are given a separate toll free number which very "helpfully" goes through to the USA and of course is only open in office hours USA time not sure which side of the country so I gave up on this and you cannot leave a message.
I was very frustrated as GAP.EU was not taking on their responsibility.
I cannot truthfully recommend anyone to use GAP.EU site if they are under the impression that it is a fully functioning EU based subsidiary.

FÃŒr ein reduziertes Kleid im Wert von 55⬠muÃte ich aufgrund des Brexits bei der Zustellung durch DHL zusÀtzliche 24⬠ZollgebÃŒhren zahlen!!! Jetzt ist das Kleid teurer als der Originalpreis. Der Gap Kundenservice bot auch mir einen 20⬠Gutschein an. Den brauche ich nicht, denn bei Gap.eu kann man nicht mehr einkaufen! ð¬ Englische Firmen wie BODEN ÃŒbernehmen im Zweifel zusÀtzliche Zollkosten. An Gap: So schnell kann man sein EuropageschÀft kaputt machen... Tipp: Die Ware nicht annehmen. Dann bleiben die Kosten nicht beim Kunden hÀngen.
As a european customer donât order at Gap.eu !!! Since Brexit you need to pay an extra of around 40% custom fees when receiving the parcel. Gap customer service offers a 20⬠voucher and is not willing to cover the costs. Sorry Gap: Your european business will suffer a lot.

Es war mein LieblingsfeschÀft.... allerdings hat GAP Deutschland Ìbersehen, dass es ab dem 01.01.2021 Brexit gab, und alle Ware aus der UK (und GAP versendet aus UK) verzollt werden.
So bei einer Bestellung vom 22.12.2020, die leider erst in der ersten Januarwoche den Laden Richtung Deutschland verlassen hatte, mÌsste ich bei der Bestellungswert von 49 Euro, zusÀtzliche 30 Euro an Steuer und AbwicklungsgebÌhren zahlen. Die Kundenbetreuung sieht nicht den Fehler auf der Seite von GAP, und bot mir zusÀtzliche 20 Euro fÌr die nÀchste Bestellung, die ich aber nie tÀtige, keine Lust auf weitere GebÌhren.
Schade, aber bei solcher Kundenpolitik leider nicht tragbar!!!

Achtung: Bei einer Bestellung beim EU-Gap-Webshop werden die Waren aus England verschickt und es mÌssen dem Paketdienst Unterlagen (Bestellung und Zahlungsbeleg) Ìbermittelt werden - möglicherwiese mÌssen auch noch Importsteuern bezahlt werden. Offenbar haben die Leute von Gap noch nicht mitbekommen, dass es einen BREXIT gibt.

Cela fait deux mois, trois fois que j'appelle, les dames au téléphone m'assurent le remboursement de la différence, de me rappeler, de me confirmer par mail mais RIEN. J'ai commandé deux pantalons de la même taille. L'un des pantalons livrés n'était pas à la bonne taille. J'ai vérifié ma commande et le bordereau de livraison et l'erreur vient bien de chez eux. J'ai renvoyé le jour même le pantalon qui ne me va pas et j'attends depuis un mois mon remboursement. Je crains de ne devoir m'asseoir dessus. A éviter
