If I were to give money to the agency I would be desperate every day, phone calls or emails, if I have to take money, it only matters and only interests no one, yesterday Mr. Richard gave me a lesson in professionalism, there is no professionalism, he explained to me that I do not have to take anything after I sent him the conversation with Jesseka he said to send him an account number to give me the money. I do not need any more money, please transfer the amount equally to the two managers as a reward from me for the professionalism they have shown. I just want to draw the attention of future clients to know in advance what vile and fraudulent people they are going to deal with. I am incredibly glad that I got rid of this miserable agency, I will not recommend it to anyone and also whenever I have the opportunity I will tell you in disgust about the experience I had with this agency.

Charlotte and her team at the Gerrard’s Cross lettings agency have been truly wonderful to work with… Charlotte called us personally to work through several issues in the home that we have rented. She even offered to come over and help us in person. We are grateful she is a part of the group working with us in our rental property as the time and attention she has given us has been so helpful… We would love to work with Charlotte again in the future!

Richard and the Lettings team at Gerrards Cross are amazing! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a rental property or looking to rent out your property.

However, I want to give a special mention to Charlotte Statham though, who is exceptional, highly professional, incredibly knowledgeable, great at her job and more than that she really cares! She helped me through a letting problem caused by a very personal crisis and did this with a lot of kindness, great communication and was incredibly professional throughout. If you have the fortune to have Charlotte support you with your letting experience you will be very lucky indeed!

Extremely Poor Experience – A Warning to Others
As someone who has bought and sold many properties over the years, I’ve encountered the good and the bad in estate agency services—but this experience has been by far the worst.

1. Unjustified ID Check Fees & Delay
It took over 10 days to complete an ID check via a third-party company, which I was charged £80 for—something I’ve never been charged before in all my years of property dealings. To make it worse, the third party tried to upsell irrelevant services like shopping discounts during the process.

2. Inappropriate Conduct by Management
At the Gerrard's Cross branch, the manager, J.C., behaved in a way that I found deeply unprofessional, intimidating and unethical—making veiled threats and implying that if I didn’t do this today and that tomorrow, they would advise their client to accept another bid. This isn't just poor customer service; it borders on harassment and manipulation.

3. Questionable Bidding Practices
The property had sat on the market for months with no activity. After showing proof of funds (logged in via my banking app), we were told by the agent Jacques that an offer around £1.4m some £150k under the asking price would likely be accepted—not exactly in the seller’s best interest. We made the offer, and it was confirmed accepted.

However, soon after, I received a call from J.C. claiming a new offer had suddenly appeared, £70,000 higher—something I found highly suspect. Under pressure, I reluctantly agreed to increase my offer by £20k, which was accepted event though apparently £50k more had been offered above my £20k bid, I remain convinced this was a phantom bid.

4. Serious GDPR Breach
Things worsened when I received a letter from their lettings department accusing me of owing £4,350 for a property I had absolutely no involvement with, stating that i am in breach and court action imminent. This was a clear data breach, and despite my complaints, the response was dismissive and unapologetic.
The GDPR department appears to have a blame culture within the business rather than owning up, apologising and putting things right.

Even more disturbing, the person who actually lives at the address in question was never informed of the breach until she complained 15 days later. When questioned, the company weakly justified this by saying, "Well, you might know the third party, so it's fine." It’s not fine—it’s a blatant GDPR violation and now being investigated by the ICO.

5. Regulator Involvement
The GDPR breach is now with the ICO, and the bidding practices have been reported to the FCA.

Conclusion: Avoid This Company
There are far better agencies out there that offer:
Transparent processes
No shady upselling or fabricated bids
No outrageous ID check fees
Proper handling of your personal data
Be warned—my experience has shown that this company demonstrates a worrying lack of professionalism, ethics, and basic customer care, and have a blame culture instead of taking ownership.

Excellent service from Gibbs Gillespie, Gerrards Cross in selling our house. All the staff we dealt with were professional and dedicated, and particularly James, who was very supportive and helpful, keeping us informed throughout the process.

Cannot say enough about the wonderful team at Gibbs Gillespie Gerrards Cross Branch. Absolute professionals in every detail . Kept us up to date with each step of the way. There were no surprises and that certainly made us comfortable with the whole process.

I signed up 8 yrs ago believing and trusting Romans/Gibbs-Gillespie to provide me with a good standard of property management service and look after my rental property while I was living and working abroad over extended periods of time. I have found tenancy and property management services provided by Gibbs-Gillespie to be well below what is expected with serious lapses in inspection and management of maintenance issues. Serious issues with property management include:
- repairs and maintenance issues, reported and authorised to be dealt with by Gibbs-Gillespie contractors, resulting in sub-standard workmanship, requiring re-work
- repairs or maintenance issues not reported (to me) with attempts to repair made (either by tenants or Gibbs contractors) without authorisation, resulting in damage or need for re-work.
- requests to investigate unauthorised repairs or changes to the property either completely ignored or inadequately explored
- potential damage/s accepted by one member of the property management team later discredited, aggressively refuted and withdrawn by another member of the team
- tenancy deposit returned to tenant/s prematurely, despite a number of outstanding or disputed maintenance and dilapidation issues still under discussion.
When challenged, this is constantly and repeatedly followed up with excuses, denials and deflection.

Selling one's home is a major decision of high impact and confidence in the agency is most important. Jacob, the branch manager, was generous with his time and helped myself and my wife to agree the proposed price particularly given our concerns over recent transactions in the area. His was not the highest valuation but the one that could be justified. Gibbs Gillespie has also offered a range of services that promises to make the transaction easier and faster having already demonstrated they can move quickly.

Used Gibbs Gillespie Gerrards Cross to rent a property having used them previously 20 years ago and the service is still excellent! Very professional, safe to deal with and efficient in resolving all the paperwork and financial elements. Thank you Claire Thurlbeck and the team at Gerrards Cross Gibbs Gillespie.

A decent sales team let down by a poor Lettings team especially a certain CT; she thinks she knows better than her customers.

Gibbs helped with the sale of our property and the purchase of our new property. Very professional team and in particular Dom helped to ensure the process was smooth from end to end. Highly recommend!

I found that honest straight talking from this agency has help us find the right marketing strategy.

Our experience of buying a house has not been an easy one. We dealt with various Gibbs branches through our search but thankfully landed on the Gerrards Cross branch on our 3rd attempt! James was extremely helpful and accommodating, knowing our working hours made it difficult to view properties during the week he arranged a late afternoon appointment that could work for us. He was open, transparent and helpful. Dominic would regularly check in and offer his support too. The whole process was smooth and timely in the end and as a result, we managed to land our forever home!

Gibbs Gillespie marketed our property in Stoke Poges and quickly identified a buyer. Dominic handled all the negotiations and contact with the buyer on our behalf and I cannot recommend him or Gibbs Gillespie highly enough. It is the first time that I have not begrudged paying the estate agents fees on the sale of a property. For this transaction, these were well earned and without Dominic, I am certain the sale would not have progressed smoothly - if at all. When I decided to sell my house and downsize I contacted Gibbs Gillespie at Gerrards Cross having been impressed by their flyer I’d received some months before. An appointment was made for Dominic Hanson to visit Croft House with a view to selling it.
Dominic, who handled the sale of the house has been fantastic. His prior knowledge of the house with the building plans in place etc was impressive.
