We took a 1/2 day tour of Old Town with Mike O'Rourke. The finding and booking process was easy and seamless, with Mike also taking time to remind us upfront of certain extra costs and sights that were closed. The tour was interesting, informative and well pitched

Really wonderful tour. Mike was very knowledgeable and professional. Genuine and passionate about showing visitors around Scotland and its history! I would highly recommend for others.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I have received. Despite being asked to update the form multiple times—and complying each time—I have yet to receive any quote or confirmation regarding the planned tour. I have also called 3–4 times to follow up, but each time I am told that someone will get back to me. While my name, email address, and contact number are repeatedly taken, there has been no further communication. This lack of responsiveness and follow-through is unacceptable.

Tommy Gunn was on the spot for what my wife and I wanted on our trip. He was knowledgeable and flexible enough to meet our needs

We had never been to Scotland before and our goal was to taste scotch which we achieved. The distilleries provided an excellent education on the types of scotch and the distilling of same. In addition to scotch, seeing the country side-the sheep with their marks that showed which ones were pregnant, the cows, the horses, the flora (in particular Foxglove) and how peat is harvested. The Inclusion of Inverary Castle, Johnstone's Cashmere, stop at the cemetery and explanations provided by Mike were excellent. Mike was able to answer all the questions we asked and gave a running commentary as we drove along the roads, pointing out notable landmarks. The restaurants Mike recommended were always very good and I loved the choice of fish at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ferries were an interesting and necessary experience to travel from one part of the country to the next. Dowan Hotel was exceptionally lovely and once we were transferred from the handicapped room to a deluxe room at Machrie Hotel, we felt in luxury. Because it was summertime, the Aviemore Macdonald attracted an exceptional number of children.

We, a family of six, went on a three-day whisky tour to Islay, and it was truly unforgettable. Mike organized the tour for us, and everything was planned perfectly. On our way from Glasgow, we stopped at the Deanston and Oban distilleries, and once on Islay, we visited Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, and Bunnahabhain, where we enjoyed guided tours and tastings.

Our guide, Ian, was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable, genuinely caring, and attentive to our comfort throughout the entire trip. He also had a great sense of humor and was an absolute pleasure to be around. Spending time with him made the experience even more special.

This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us, especially for our parents, who are seniors. Go Scotland Tours helped create memories we’ll cherish forever.

Mike was great! He answered our questions before booking, planned stops at the distilleries we wanted to visit on Islay, and arranged for great accommodations. His knowledge and familiarity allowed our small group to enjoy our first trip to Scotland, get to know some of the local culture and history, drink delicious Scotch, and see hairy cows!

A great Edinburgh Tour
Our group of 8 visited Edinburgh as part of a Viking cruise on June 6, 2025, but toured the city via a private Go Scotland Tours excursion. Sight seeing with a vehicle smaller than a bus was a great advantage and Mike O'Rourke was a knowledgeable, insightful, and helpful guide.

Our tour was to the Falkirk Wheel, Callendar House and the Kelpies. Everything worked as it should, and we had plenty of time to see the sights.
Mike (our guide) was very knowledgeable, friendly and punctual.
Would definitely recommend this tour and tour company to anyone wanting an informative and relaxing day out.

We were on a private tour. Our guide, Laura Moon, was exceptional. Very knowledgeable, adaptable to our interests, and able pivot when the weather got rough. She was also an excellent storyteller and a lot of fun.

My partner and I had only a short time in Edinburgh, so we reached out to Go Scotland Tours to arrange a one-day private tour tailored to our interests. Mike from Go Scotland Tours was extremely helpful, making it easy to customise the itinerary to suit our tastes and schedule.

On the day, our guide Heather met us at our hotel right on time. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and a genuinely lovely person to spend the day with. We set off in a comfortable car, taking in the sights of Arthur’s Seat and Craigmillar Castle as we made our way to Glenkinchie.

Highlights of the day included the Glenkinchie Cask Discovery Experience, a nice lunch at Carberry Tower Mansion House, and a fascinating Port of Leith Tour & Tasting. Heather’s insights and local knowledge added to the experience, and she made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Thanks to the team at Go Scotland Tours, especially to Heather, our guide for the day, we had a fantastic experience that was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking to make the most of their time in Edinburgh.
