I have played guitar on and off again for many years, mostly self taught through videos, listening to songs, and prior musical experience as a violinist. I always felt like there was something really missing with my method, and felt stuck with the lack of progress. Since starting these lessons at the beginning (the fundamentals to make sure I picked up on any tips and tricks) I am already seeing progress with important skills, and relearning a few bad habits that were picked up with my previous self taught process. I am really loving this program. The fundamentals teacher is excellent, the lessons are easy to follow with short, concentrated info through video, play along, and the score. The lessons are structured so they build upon themselves and let you progress at your own speed, while taking a lot of the stress and frustration away from learning guitar. Would highly recommend this program!

Very efficient and excellent customer service. The issues are addressed promptly. I'm a 61 years old fart and always wanted to learn to play the guitar. I'm currently enjoying the beginner courses which are delivered by Anders Mouridsen. I find his approach to teaching the guitar excellent and efficient. You can tell that he knows what he's talking about. Congratulation for a great guitar learning platform. Definitely recommend guitar tricks for any one. It was recommended to me by Gemeni AI as I was looking for a course that would teach the blues. Well done guys 10/10👍

I am a beginning at guitar playing. Bought an electric guitar 3 months ago and was relying on free information on the internet. That helped to some degree, but I need a more structured approach to learning. I did research of all the various online lessons and this one always comes up as one of the top rated one. Very happy so far with the overall design and 'ease of use' of the website. I am going through the Fundamentals course and I like how it is structured ... especially the lessons pertaining to chords as that is where I would struggle. Still learning to get my fingers in the correct position so as not to mute other strings. This has helped immensely. I am in the trial period and will make a decision on whether I want to get a subscription. Looks like you offer discount if you get a yearly vs. monthly, so that is the route I would go. So far so good. The only (minor) downside is the first set of lessons the instructor is using an acoustic guitar, but so far everything that has been tought applies to electric guitars as well.

I've been teaching myself guitar using YouTube and other online resources for 10 months now. All that time I have not been using Guitar Tricks, primarily because the name put me off. It makes it sound like you're going to be learning little bits and pieces of disconnected knowledge, maybe some riffs and solos, but this could not be further from the truth. I picked up a subscription just a couple days ago and I've been completely blown away.

The lesson plan is very clearly outlined and very well displayed for users. The user interface is extremely user friendly, and there are a ton of tools on the site that would be useful for all skill levels, beginner through advanced. There are also branching course paths for various genres, such as rock, blues, country, and I believe there's at least one other style in there as well. But the biggest thing for me is that the size and pacing of the fundamental videos is phenomenal. Not too long and not too short. Very well explained. Also very high quality video, so you can see everything being done on the guitar.

I really can't recommend this site enough. I just wish they hadn't called themselves Guitar "Tricks", so I might have signed up earlier.

Fast helpful response to a signup issue I had which was resolved immediately...

After a few weeks, I'm convinced this is the best online course available. I was in an intermediate rut and needed to jumpstart my guitar playing. This course has so far fulfilled that expectation. Courses are well designed in structure and duration. The instructor is crystal clear, despite English not being his mother tongue. It's hands-on without hours of editorial commentary or theory as with other courses. My only suggestions would be:

1. A little more assistance in knowing which course to start with
2. A more intuitive way to find where one left off when reconnecting

The lessons are great. They are short and concise. The instructor is very thorough with an easy demeanor that encourages one to progress. I have learned a lot in the short period of time that I have used the app and highly recommend it. The biggest shortfall, and one I find very frustrating, is the ability to track your progress, see the lessons you have taken so you can go back and perhaps repeat them and plot future lessons. I think the ability to do is there somewhere but not very easy or intuitive to find.

Guitar Tricks customer service responded in a timely manner and answered my concerns. They were very professional, and friendly! I’d even go as far as saying they’re some of the best customers service of a business I’ve encountered, that wasn’t in-person.

I'm enjoying this experience more than I could have anticipated. Anders is the perfect combination of patient and firm. I love seeing my skill elevate daily.

This is a great site and platform. I love the lessons sections. They have areas for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. I learned dozens of songs from Guitar Tricks

Guitar Tricks has the perfect balance between easy-to-follow lessons and fun songs to learn and play. I can also post videos of my progress and receive video feedback in return.

Zeer positief. Ik heb ook op andere platforms gezeten, maar ik vind deze tot nu het beste. Ik vind de lessen goed opgezet, weldoordacht met een duidelijke structuur. Ik vind de verdieping prettig, juiste mate van uitleg en meer dan voldoende materiaal om er jarenlang plezier van te hebben.

The lessons are great, highly recommend the content. But unfortunately the mobile App has some issues. I signed up through my Gmail account and my login used that sso - so there's no independent password.

However, the App does not have a means for using that kind of login, so it is impossible to access the content on the mobile app with this account. This is why I have downgraded my review rating to a 3 star.

Edit - update:
My log in issue is resolved and the customer support was excellent - so I'm adjusting my rating to a 4 star. Still not a 5 star as the underlying issue is that the app doesn't support the same login methods as the website which will mean others will have the same issue I had.

I’ve been playing guitar for years, sort of. Bought a guitar, a poster with all the chords and my friend showed me how to read tab. I’ve been stuck for longer than I’ve played, having made no noticeable progress. That is until I found Guitar Tricks!! I decided to start from the very beginning, guitar fundamentals level 1 and I couldn’t be happier! Learning the fundamentals has already provided a foundation I never had before. Learning how to practice with a metronome, playing with the instructor and so many other things I had never learned has proven to be just the kick in the pants I needed. I’m so looking forward to what the future lessons will unfold for me.

Im surprised how much I've learned this far. While I get frustrated, the teachings are very good and progress is evident. Would definitely recommend to those willing to practice.

I love this app. Very easy to use and the lessons are carefully designed to ensure understanding of concepts and addresses the beginners skill level well. I have learned more from this app than during the 4 weeks of having an actual in-person instructor.
