If you are looking for an honest garage in the area use these guys. Just lovely to deal with and very straight forward.

Do not confuse them with Henlow Motor Group on Clifton Road, who are sharks.

The team fitted me in at very short notice and went above and beyond by collecting and returning my car for its MOT. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, approachable, and genuinely trustworthy. Thanks guys!

Note: This is the maintenance and repair garage, not the car sales place.

They are such a jokes to this community playing with the minds of their customers and sell them wrong faulty cars just to gain extra profits we are one of their victims 0 after sales services i would never recommend this to anyone. Be safe and careful from them please i'm writing this only what i face others dont face.

James purchased a car off me, although polite in person he realised I didn’t know too much about selling my car and proceeded to leave me with a fake number that never connects and took my whole V5 knowing I needed to keep some of it. When I reached out to him on Facebook to ask for proof of change of ownership he ignored me for hours. Once he got in contact he told me to check on the DVLA website, I explained I would need my V5 reference number and his address, both of which he would not send me. He promised to send the V5 the next day but never replied once again. He is trading under fake names when collecting cars which I believe relate to a previous business he no longer owns. This man was totally unprofessional, took advantage of my trust and continues to ignore me and leave me with no idea if my car is even out of my name. I admit it was my fault I did not know what I needed from him as a seller but I assumed as a trader he was making the right decisions. I wouldn’t recommend selling to this company especially James East / James Guinness

Would never use this garage again, took my car in for a repair, I ordered the part for the car before this and I asked them to make sure this was the correct part for my car. He stated yes it’s 100% fine so I trusted his word and left him with the part as he stated it was perfectly fine and I didn’t need to return the part.

My car was there for around 4days of me waiting for my car to be done so I could collect it. After waiting around for my car I finally received a call asking me to collect the car.

Me thinking everything was done and it was ready for me to take back to the garage for the MOT. I was left thinking the car was done to a good standard. I paid for the work which was very over priced may I add but was happy to pay as they had told me the car was fine and the repair was done.

Clearly this was not the case as the car failed again on the MOT. As he never fitted the correct part. Which he stated was fine for the car clearly he was wrong. Charged me over £300 just for me to have to re order the part and pay another garage to fix the problem.

Never again will I use this garage, very unprofessional.

Good prompt repair to my Fiat 500 :after the AA got the vehicle to their Garage with a failed clutch slave unit .Fixed one day ahead of schedule .

Nice people, kept me fully informed and even though my car was booked in for a full service with diagnostic they saw the car had many problems that would have cost £3000 and that is without the things I had sent it in for. So I said its not worth it and they bought the car back with only a small charge that included collecting and delivery. No hard sell, no pressure and as I said they were nice people. I am now going to get a mobility car as to old for the stress of finding a good older car and if I am allowed will be sending it to HenlowMoters for any future work that needs doing including services etc

I would never use this garage again. They were arrogant from the start . I took my vehicle in for an MOT . They called to tell me it had failed but were gleeful about this . They then tried to bully me in to having the repair done at their garage and tried to tell me I could not take my vehicle away to get it repaired elsewhere , becoming obstructive . Once we had finally sorted that and got the repairs done elsewhere we phoned to arrange the free re test that we are entitled to only to be told this would incur a fee , because the vehicle was to be taken off site for the test . Avoid this place at all costs .

I beg to differ - read and form your own conclusions as to their competence and business ethics.

My car had an intermittent electical problem – some days it would start, others, not, immobiliser light flashing. My daughter recommended this place, based on internet reviews.

FIRST assessment – computer printout listed many “faults” all of which read “Failed to connect to ...(various modules)”. Reg advised he'd checked the wiring, the problem was dirty contacts. He'd cleaned them, problem solved, and that's £65.00 please.
Couple of days later – car still intermittently starting, same problem, Called Reg, who asked to see the car again.

SECOND assessment. Computer list exactly the same – multiple “failed to connect” reports. After several days I was advised that, after an expert diagnosis by a specialist (£50), various repairs were done, wiring checked and fully repaired and that will be £233.20 please including the consultant's fee.
I'm isolated (high risk, age and health) so the car did not get used for some time. When needed for grocery collection it failed to start, identical problems as at the outset.

THIRD assessment. Reg accepted that it still wasn't fixed and sent various bits for independent analysis (all came back with a clean bill of health). Car reassembled and returned as “fixed” - no charge. A few days later, same story, intermittent or no start.

A furloughed auto-electrician heard the story, and agreed to take on the challenge. A tow-truck took it to Welwyn. He discovered that the computer reports were 100% correct – it “Failed to connect...” because the wiring loom was damaged, several wires broken. All wiring is now repaired as necessary and everything fully working at “mates rate” including recovery truck, just £200 cash.

On three occasions, Henlow Motors assured me that the wiring had been checked, clearly untrue. Had they actually understood “Failure to connect” and checked the wiring for continuity, no external work would have been needed and my bill would have been nowhere near the £298.20 they charged.

I have TWICE invited them to contribute toward the additional £200 cost. Their response is that as far as they are concerned the car was fixed. So, the question I posed at the beginning – is this a competent or ethical business? Draw your own conclusion !
