A good selection of products and helpful staff. Its a shame it will be closing down.

Went into homebase in Basingstoke, asked if the display Christmas decorations was for sale, the staff said they was waiting to hear from head office, when they can be sold, then a staff(women) sold candy canes from that display to a customer, when I asked she said they were broken and the customer was going to try and fix them, what you are going to buy broken items, and they came from the display that nothing can be sold and pigs can fly

Very slow service, couldn’t find the click n collect
Couldn’t return/swap item bought day before as I’d purchased In store not online,due to going into administration no returns to store !!

The light's that are built into the tree didn't work i had to faff around taking various videos for them and then they didn't want to replace it but wanted me to take time off work for someone to collect it so i could get a refund.

Help from the staff

The staff were friendly and helpful but the store is a nightmare. It looks like they've given over 1/4 of the store to Christmas stuff but then not replaced the department signs so it's impossible to find anything

John Kinge is without a shadow of doubt, one of the most helpful consultants in the service industry that we have ever dealt with. We ordered our new kitchen and bathroom from Homebase in Basingstoke purely because of John and his professional and helpful approach when first visiting Homebase and it's competitors.
His knowledge when designing the kitchen and bathroom was invaluable. Some of his suggestions really helped. Always on the end of the phone when we had a question and genuinely a really lovely gentleman. John you are an asset to Homebase, thank you.

The 5L can of floor varnish was rejected by the store. They rang to confirm 2 off 2.5L cans would be acceptable, no extra charge.
Good old fashioned customer service.

This is a review for the exceptional customer service I received from Andrew Taylor, design consultant at Basingstoke.
I had liaised with several design consultants from various other companies (magnet, wren, wickes, b&q, howdens), however it was Andy’s level of care that made me decide to go with Homebase for my new kitchen and bathroom. From the very first appointment to design the kitchen/bathroom, to choosing products, to discounts to changing products once work had started, he went above and beyond. I knew I could rely on Andy, he was also very efficient with his communication, if it wasn’t for him I know for sure a very stressful situation would have been far more stressful. I highly recommend liaising with Andrew Taylor if you are considering any renovations. He is an asset to Homebase. Thank you Andy!

My collection was combined with a return. Both were carried out very efficiently by a Homebase employee who was also very polite and courteous.

I'm very impressed The furniture is really lovely. Went together easily and the quality of the wood and the finish is excellent. A really good value deal as the set was in sale Furniture looks classy and more expensive than it actually was. Everyone has commented how nice this Erik furniture set is

Excellent knowledge and service from Ian on the paint desk. Nothing was too much trouble even though we were unsure of what colour we wanted. He helped us choose using the colour fan, advised us of the different finishes, we went for washable as it was for a hall way, and made sure we had all the kit we needed.
Well done Ian and Homebase Basingstoke.

One of my products wasn’t in and I was called to explain that an alternative colour had been given (I had ordered a selection) and that I could change colour or refund. On collection a note was left to explain too so that the other staff could follow through. It was really helpful.

Popped in to get my order got served straight away. no hassle, only took about two minutes. Great.
