No staff available at collection point and big queue at till as there was a query. No other staff around. When staff member did turn up at collection point, they were very helpful

Took the tower fan home 20 miles away and it didn’t work so took it back and they exchanged for another one, should have been checked before leaving the factory

Garden furniture ordered online at lunchtime. Confirmation that my order was ready to collect was received at 2pm.
The item was there and waiting when I visited the store at 5pm.
Box fitted in the car, home before 6pm.
Nice easy transaction, items bought in the sale at a great price.

Product was great as was the sale price. Man on the till was very polite and helpful. The lad who "helped me" out to my vehicle with my very heavy set of garden furniture less so. It all seemed a bit too much for him and I ended up shoving it in the van myself, as he disappeared very quickly.

I have just visited the store and everyone was really helpful, but especially Jack who spent some time helping me with paint and even opened a tin so I could compare with my tester pot. He went out of his way to help me and that doesn't happen often these days!

Website said items were in stock - received the message that click and collect was ready to collect - made the journey and the product wasn’t in stock took half an hour to process refund wasted hour and a half in total and having to go somewhere else - terrible.

James was very helpful and talked us through our individual needs whilst purchasing our new kitchen. He answered our questions and if unsure was able to get back to us with the answer.

The most rude customer service agent, trying to explain my dad is disabled can’t come and collect order; just absolutely terrible!

Janet came straight up to us with a smile and asked if she could help. We purchased a garden table and chairs which had to be ordered. At all times Janet was so helpful and really went the extra mile to make our visit to Homebase one of the best we have had. Our order should be arriving on Friday😊

I ordered a pot of paint 'click and collect' from Homebase, Chichester branch. Value: a whopping £19.

So, next day, off I trundle to the store to pick it up. I made my way to the 'click and collect' counter and joined the queue - 4 deep. I looked over my shoulder to the two check-outs that were open with no customers... and started to think: "why did I do this... ah, yes, it was to save time in the store". Not to worry, lesson learnt I thought, as I glanced over at my prize paint eagerly awaiting it's new home.

Then, low and behold, a member of staff closed his check-out and came to assist me - excellent, perhaps click and collect was indeed a good idea after all.

The friendly chap takes my order number and inches over to my Crown emulsion with a label on it clearly indicating who the purchaser is.
"Do you have ID"?
"Sure, I have a scan of my passport on my phone", I replied.
"We don't accept scanned ID, we need to see physical ID".

As I walked out of the store I took one last look at my Crown Seldom Seen and sighed... so near but yet so far...

For a pot of paint worth a few quid, Homebase, why do you require physical ID?

I can understand some more stringent ID procedures if I was ordering a £500 lawnmower, or a £10k kitchen, but for a pot of paint? Surely, if I was going to defraud you I wouldn't risk the jail time for a cheap pot of paint.

Perhaps Wickes, Toolstation, Screwfix or The Range should have been my first thought. They will be next time - they don't check physical ID for small value items.

Visited the closest branch in Chichester to view the shower enclosure prior to purchase. About to complete the purchase and a power cut in the area prevented that. Bought online at home instead. James Prescott was very helpful. Unfortunately the instruction manual was misprinted / unchecked so we only had 3 stages of 9 to refer to during the assembly. I think it turned out o.k.

Easy to use website, easy to find click and collect and super helpful staff.
