Worst experience ever. I ordered the air conditioner online and went into store on Saturday to pick it up. Went back Thursday , which is literally 4 days apart for them to exchange as the air-conditioning struggled to cool the room , mind you this is a small bedroom in a new build house so you can imagine the size. It struggled to go below 25degrees even after using overnight , then it leaked over my carpet. So I took it back for a replacement which met so much hostility , they asked me to leave in the store for a few hrs so they can test, are they engineers? - I did not know hombase employed qualified engineers as sales staff. Anyway they call me back after about 3 hrs and said they saw no issues! I was like can you turn it on overnight like I did before coming to that conclusion? Then the manager said that's their policy and they cannot do anything. So I said please replace and they tried to give me another one which had been returned which I refused. If the previous person returned it that means there was an issue.It should be replaced with a brand new one.I have left the unit in the store as I will raise the dispute through my card company. Very awful customer service

Went to the Homebase store in Stanway Tollgate Colchester . Nice big store went to see the sale in the garden centre . Great reductions as I adore gardening it was really good to pick up many bargains.

The Lady on the checkout/reception area was lovely I just had shopping bags and had no car . She was so helpful and friendly . I went back the next day to buy more bargains in the garden centre the same Lady was on the checkout again nice service . This Lady was cheerful and welcoming even remembered me from the day before . I really enjoyed my trip to Homebase it was good to just walk around the garden centre with no one bothering me a relaxing and enjoyable shopping trip . The staff were so nice .

The staff members were very polite, friendly and helpful particularly Ollie in the outdoor section. He assisted me with buying some pots and very kindly put a hole in the bottom of them for me as I would not have been able to do it myself. He certainly went over and above what I would have expected.

Assistant was very helpful, but ended up having to go to the shelf display to select another item as someone had stuck sticky labels all over the mirror and frame.

Love Homebase, service, price, quality all 5 star. Unfortunately 3 weeks ago I purchased and had installed by them, a Mercia cabin and cannot say the same about the people at Mercia. Cabin had problems with not being watertight straight away, reported this immediately and have had no help from Mercia whatsoever. Still have problems with gaps between planks which they tell me to sort out myself. I am 82 and had installed by them because of my age. I am really not satisfied with their attitude at all and would not recommend even though the cabin itself is fine if installed properly.

The wait for click nd collect was enormous!! Would have been easier to pick from shelf and pay !

I have made order and supposed to pick them up at other location by Monday 26 Aug. By chance , I was visiting the one in Colchester on Sunday. Tried to ask them if they had stock and I can pick them up there. Sandra and Tim were very helpful , doing everything they can to help me change the order and offering me the same discount .

I came to buy some paint for a very small bathroom, a member of staff named Greg was very helpful in recommending paint and colours to make the most out of the space. He also helped me to locate other items in store to make sure I got a good final result. The lady who served me on customer service called Jan was very kind and helpful too.

Amazing customer service I was served by Rachel and she was amazing really happy to help when I needed it

Just had to say that Adrian the manager at Tollgate way branch was really lovely and most helpful with our query today .. Great customer service couldnt fault!! Thank you so very very much!!

The order process was easy and the lady at the collection point was happy and polite.

All the fixing parts are missing 2 x centre connectors, 8 x bolts, 8 x washers, 8 x bolts caps and Allen key?

Managed to speak to Sandra at the store who assisted and resolved problem. The head office team would learn a lot about customer service from the stores.

The lady at the till was super friendly and knew the best buy multi deals off by heart which was really good as we needed some bark and it was in a 3 for £18 deal

Ordered an item to collect instore and Homebase Colchester e-mailed me to state that it would be ready to collect "two days later". Five days later I drove to the store to collect it only to be told it had not arrived. I therefore cancelled the order and staff assured me they would cancel it. Today, nine days later, I receive an e-mail telling me the item has "now arrived in store and is ready for collection". And when trying to phone Homebase to explain that this should have been cancelled, BOTH contact phone numbers contained in the e-mail are not recognised!

UPDATE - spoke on phone to Sandra in store who was very helpful and has resolved the issue and confirmed that the refund for the cancelled order was actioned.

Quick swift pick up - excellent!!

The ordering process was ok, but it shouldn’t have been necessary as I was at the store when doing it. It was ridiculous that I could buy a Strimmer with the discount applied, but had to submit a ‘click and collect’ order to get the same discount off a leaf blower that was sitting on the shelf.

Helpful staff especially cheery paint mixer!
