Do not trust Hoopers independant Vehicle assessors.
Use IAEA (Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors) register first!
Hoopers are 'agents' of Direct Line and take huge amounts of work from DLG-Mobility and make sure the insurer minimises their costs.
Direct Line are liars who say that Hoopers are independent, you will get horrendous treatment and deformation in report.
Hoopers won't answer questions, wont supply report - Found to be in favour the insurer.
Assessor couldnt find or agree obvious faults shown to him with horrendous repair had another assessor make repairer correct faults that hoopers couldnt find or refused to find, like wrong tyres fitted!

So beware - the man might seem nice but he is not, he is on side of DLG-Repairer, wet behind the ears!

The gentleman that came to see my car. Was very nice and polite. And explained everything I needed to know. He was quick in what he did and spoke to me like a human being.

Gentleman arrived on time very professional. Treated us with respect and understanding .

The inspector contacted me prior to the visit with time of arrival. The inspection was thorough and I was given clear information regarding the outcome and next steps. My only slight negative was that I had no confirmation contact either by e mail, text or phone from making the online booking and had to call the day before to ensure the visit was taking place. I haven’t as yet seen the written report or had confirmation from insurer or repairer that the report has been received!

The engineer was helpful, courteous and professional. The report was sent to my insurance company and approved within 24 hours.

I don't know what is in the report that the assessor gave to the insurance company so I am only reviewing my experience so far.
The assessor contacted me the evening before our appointment and asked if he could come in about 20 minutes which suited me. When he arrived he assured me that the inspection was the same for all cars and explained what he was doing at each stage as he inspected the car. He was very friendly and chatty and carried out his inspection efficiently.
It has been a pleasant experience so far.

Several days ago I gave a less than complimentary review for Hoopers.
As a consequence I had a helpful conversation with Jody who also sent me a copy of the report sent to my insurers. The report was worded similar to the verbal report we were given at the time of the inspection.
It was clear that the insurers had been less than thorough in their reading and understanding of the reports contents. This has now been rectified.
I am more than happy with the way I was treated by Hoopers. From the initial appointment booking. The process and the thoroughness of the inspection. Being kept informed of what was to take place. The customer focused attitude and helpfulness of all those involved.

Just very professional and helpful

AVOID ALL COSTS... Absolutely useless Total waste of time and space. Muck you around on appointment and don't turn up or so you end up chasing them and phoning them which is not my job to do. 3 MISSED APPOINTMENTS NOW.

Accesor arrived listened to my concerns re recent repair, she relaid her finding to repairers representative . Time &date to be arranged when parts are in . If for any reason the repairs are not satisfactory the vehicle would be going to main dealer for accesment &repairs

Good customer service, especially from Jody sharman. Really helped me out with my car and insurance company. Anyone looking for help with a private engineering company, don’t hesitate to ask hoppers for help, especially Jody.

Hooper's were the loss adjuster via our Insurance company to assess the damage to our car, where someone had driven into it and left no details. Our car was a write off, but the rep was brilliant, he was very approachable and very helpful when we asked questions. He assessed a very fair price and we are very grateful to him

I recently instructed Hoppers to give a post repair inspection report on my Audi as i had lost all faith in the garage repairing my vehicle after i had rejected it twice to my insurance company. I used Hoopers after seeing their name on the list of approved engineers on The Association of Automotive Engineer Assessors.

My Audi had been sent to a unapproved Audi bodyshop. I wanted reassurance my car was safe for my family to travel in so I paid Hoopers £450 because i thought it would give me the reassurance I needed. The report they gave me stated the repairs were good and i took it the car was safe.

Two weeks after picking my car up it went to an audi dealership for a service and the engineer gave my vehicle a once over health check for me. The report I had was that the two bolts on the subframe were missing and when they then went to replace them found the subframe was not straight. The engineer did not need to look hard to see the bolts were missing.

I contacted Hoopers who admitted. It is important to note that our inspections are visual by nature, as we are not authorised to dismantle vehicles for in-depth examinations.

While I regret that the suspension bolts were missed during the visual inspection, this limitation reflects the challenges posed by the vehicle’s assembled state at the time. Their excuse was At the time of our inspection, the vehicle was fully assembled, including the undertrays. While the vehicle was inspected from underneath, the presence of the undertrays limited access and visibility. As noted in the video, the technician conducted their inspection with the under-trays removed, which would have provided greater access.

I would not recommend the use of this company save your money or use someone else.

The assessor that came out works for a company owned by the insurance company. He wrote my 18k RV off valuing it at 4.5K using adverts for non runners in the states. They are in cahoots with Aviva.

Hoopers came out to assess the repairs done to my vehicle as I was not happy how it had returned to me from a repair done through Hastings insurance.
Having first tried to speak with the garage who initially carried out the work and being fobbed off about what work needed doing. Hastings sent hoopers out to inspect my car.

The inspector Nigel called me with a couple of hours notice to advise when he would be coming. When he came to assess my vehicle he was very thorough, polite and understanding. He checked the work which the garage had done and was in agreement with me that it was poor and advised on what needed doing to rectify the repairs. Within 48 hours his report had been sent to the insurance and things started moving in the right direction.

I had an issue with the insurance company not wanting to do all the repairs we had discussed, when I contacted hoopers to see what to do next the agent on the phone sent a message to Nigel who gave me a call to understand the situation and to advise me on what to do next.

I am overall very pleased with the help I have had from hoopers after months of getting nowhere with the garage and the insurance company.

Hoopers carried out a review of works carried out on our landrover. The assessor reported that the work that had been done was to a commercially acceptable standard but we had been overcharged for it. Hoopers failed to mention that some of the damage had not been repaired at all despite our pointing this out. Nfum accepted Hoopers report without challenging why damage on the vehicle had not been touched. Poor service.
Hoopers are so concerned about their poor level of service that it has taken 18 months for them to verify ( message received 28th october 2025) that we are legitimate customers. Yes we are unfortunately. A poor quality report from Hoopers deliberately ommitted that over a thousand pounds worth of damage had not been carried out at all by the repairers. Resulting in the vehicle not being safely or completely repaired. Disgusting and unprofessional service.

This company is highly unprofessional, even at company director level, they have done a deficient report for an insurance company on my vehicle, got numerous facts incorrect, wrote a 2nd report after the insurers questioned them, failed to answer a 4 page letter from me pointing out the inaccuracies of their report, & messed me around costing me over 2 months of my time as I was going to instructed them on a different matter. I would avoid dealing with them at all costs. They have also failed to acknowledge a SAR request sent to the office manager & 1 of their company directors after 1 week. The company are also refusing to give me details for another company director, just refused to answer multiple questions on the phone & hung up on me! BTW, if I could give a minus 5 rating, I would do!

Utter disgrace of a company. Came to look at the awful repair job carried out on my vehicle. Didn't even look at the issues I had raised. Didn't lift the bonnet to inspect anything. This company is paid for by the insurance companies so they only look out for their interest. Not Independent at all. I would video record any visit from these con artists, just to cover yourselves.

Had a Hoopers technician sent to inspect the damage to my car for insurance purposes, He pointed out damage that I never noticed, Very skilled at his job also had great communication and people skills, Very pleased with his work, Cheers.
