Would 100% recommend Cydney in the Clacton on Sea branch! She was so patient with us and very knowledgable regarding the products on offer. Also a mention to Steve aswell, who was also great with us! Thank you both.

Having just had our Howden Kitchen installed, we would like to thank Cydney for all her input from start to finish. She has been most helpful with her ideas to tweak our design to deliver our dream kitchen.

They will go the extra mile when needed

Many friends have previously recommended Howdens over the years so as we were in the process of looking for a new kitchen we opened a trade account and requested a quote. Initial quote started at £14k (without worktops and excluded installation), when mentioned that our Benchmarx quote was £12k they immediately reduced the price to £11k (if we placed an order the next day) … we left it a couple of days and received a call asking why we hadn’t placed an order? Basically we had had a quote from an alternative supplier for a kitchen that matched our exact spec for less than £7k … Howdens response “bring the quote in and if it’s comparible we will beat the price” … I just find it odd that a company initially wants to charge you more than twice as much as they are willing to actually sell the product for (and no doubt still make a profit on it) 🤷‍♂️

When I visit your Clacton on Sea branch, most of the time my required materials are not available, and because of this I have to go to different suppliers.
The staff, on the whole are friendly and helpful.

‪#howdens @Clacton thanks for leaving me with no worktops for Christmas! Thanks for sending out the kitchen design wrong! Thanks for not actually appearing to care that I have no hob or sink for Christmas! This would never have happened if you’d checked the plans before sending them out to the customer! Going on for too long now and still not resolved! Howdens will blame the worktop fitters when in actual fact they are to blame for sending the plans out wrong, then admitting they did but don’t seem to care that I’m left with no usable kitchen for Christmas! I truly hope you’re pleased with yourselves about this and are happy that I’m left with a kitchen that can’t be used! Beyond gutted about this! Thanks Howdens - nice one!!! This should have been fitted and being used by now. Should have stuck with my original idea and gone to Wren! Happy Christmas Howdens! Oh and I haven’t even mentioned things missing or wrong in the order! Don’t even get me started on that one! Or their blasé attitude towards all of this! I’ll be here all day. Dream (long saved for) kitchen is now somewhat of a nightmare and somewhat tarnished thanks to incompetence!

We have been dealing with Howdens Clacton since the start of the year and purchased two complete kitchens together with appliances.
The design is average and certain essential appliances like a 'Plate Warmer' were missed off. In practical terms the kitchens are not the easiest to work in.
We raise a warranty claim on a stainless steel splash back on the 13th July and have not had a response todate. The assistant branch manager came and inspected it on the 14th July and agreed we had a valid claim. Every day we are faced with a badly marked splash back which is an obvious manufacturing fault but Howdens do not want to take responsibility or progress the matter. If as they claim it can be cleaned off - let someone from Howdens come and do it.
We would advise you to think twice before dealing with them, we had parts missing, extended lead times for replacements and broken promises. Not a stressless experience and not one we would wish to repeat.

To find out my account had been closed was a half day set back I could have done without and a second journey to store
Aluminium kick board is of poor quality not enough edging supplied to do dishwasher cut out and the plastic floor joining strip is not compatible with kickboard
So all round poor performance couldn’t fault the staff they were good and efficient
£90 wrapped cheapest mdf kickbords are shocking quality and won’t last long

The team at howdens is world class ,
I’ve been using them for years they have been a fantastic help for my company ,
When we ever have a problem with anything which does not happen a lot but when it does they do everything they can to rite the problem , prompt quick service and aftercare .
They are part of my successful team.
