Great as always from the team at howdens Dronfield

I regret ordering the paint-to-order kitchen which was completed for use approximately 14 months ago.

Within two weeks of gentle use the paint on the doors and drawers started chipping in random places. As the paint is dark green, the white undercoat really pops out.

By the one year anniversary I contacted Howdens and was asked to send photos via email.

They replied stating that it is general wear and tear. I don't agree. The paint is better in some areas than others. The paint on kickboards seems to be better quality and they haven't marked at all. Some doors and drawers have marked more than others and not necessarily the ones that are in constant use.

As a goodwill gesture I have been given a paint touch up kit (a can of spray paint) that apparently retails at £43.04 including vat. As I don't drive, Will very kindly arranged to have the paint dropped off.

I don't know where to start with a can of spray paint. I'm worried I will make matters worse. Howden's company policy doesn't allow them to show me how to use it, which I fully understand.

I'm 63 and thought that this kitchen would last me a lifetime. I am so sad that it looks shabby already.

I wish that I had opted for the MDF option rather than paying for the premium painted finish. I naively listened to the hype given by the sales person e.g. wooden doors are more hard wearing than MDF etc.

Friends have asked if I recommend this company for a new kitchen. I tell them to shop around.

I hope this review helps you to ask the right questions before buying a custom painted kitchen.

The staff were vary knowledgeable on the items I needed, although they were not in stock the had the items available for collection the next morning.

Designing a new kitchen for our new home I knew what I didn’t want but didn’t really know what I did..and in came Travis! His knowledge, experience and above all his patience at re-designing again and again until together we nailed it..and then did exactly the same with the utility. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Put orders on account when not needed, delivered items not required, lost items that were returned so not credited back on account. Only wanted to hit targets & receive bonus. Not interested in supporting us when in dispute with head office (who were just as bad)

I was told that the Dronfield branch could match any price I had .when I arrived to pick up the materials they told me that it was not possible to do that meaning I then had to go to Howdens Bramall lane where the staff and service is far better, this resulted in costing me time and money, not very happy with the staff on the counter quite ignorant and the manager couldn’t be bothered to come out and talk to me.

Always helpful and good value

As a fitter Howdens Dronfield are my go to kitchen supply company, all staff are super helpful and knowledgeable. Any issues during a fit are sorted same day or next day generally which keeps the job on schedule and running smoothly, where as other kitchen suppliers I’ve encountered before can take days and days to replace any items causing big problems on job schedules.
My most recent fit was supplied by first Marcus and then Travis both super helpful and nothing a problem at all, Travis kept in touch throughout the job making sure everything was going to plan, any questions I had he was literally on the end of the phone and nothing was an issue.
My customer was very unsure on colours and style of kitchen which resulted in many visits to the showroom, she commented saying everyone was extremely helpful and understanding.
I’ll be straight back to the branch for my next kitchen refit without a doubt👍🏻
