For your own safety do not buy any Lamona 5 Ring gas hob ! So very dangerous hot pans fall off the pans supports, due to lack of support bars, and pour boiling water gravy oil etc over you or the floor. Has happened on numerous occasions if not very vigil or extremely lucky!.... Never ever had this before over many kitchen appliances. Was reported but ignored... Trading standards next.

This is the first time I've used the Herne Bay Howdens branch, and I'm pleased to say I was well looked after by the staff and nothing was too much trouble to sort out. When it comes to fitting a kitchen there are always a few things that don't go to plan like items missing or damages, and the good thing with Howdens is that normally everything is in stock, if not it's ordered in within a couple of days. The two members of staff that stand out were Ben and Holly. Holly was normally at the front desk and was always friendly and welcoming with a nice smile. Ben was excellent sorting out all the changes and replacements I needed and dealt with everything in a fast no nonsense manner. All problems were easily remedied and Ben went out of his way to make sure it all got sorted properly. Many thanks 👍

I am very disappointed with their Lamona LAM9501 induction hob with an integrated downdraught extractor installed by and bought from Howdens Whitstable CT5 3RA along with a whole set of kitchen units last month. The instruction manual which doubles up as an installation manual and came with the induction hob is OUT-OF-DATE, and does not include the diagram for the re-circulation configuration; it only has the diagram for extraction air configuration (for cleaned fume exhausted outside the house). So when their fitter did the installation for me, he simply left the re-circulation kit in the box without fitting it. It wasn’t until an error code appeared on the hob panel then I realised that it wasn’t right. By that time I had already taken the kit back to Howdens Whitstable. I only found out that the kit wasn’t installed as per the EXTRA printouts I received from Howdens on Broad Oak Road Howdens Canterbury when I went there to ask. I had to go back to Howdens Whitstable to retrieve the kit for subsequent installation. Then I was left with the metal grease filter and a box of pre-cut carbon filters which I had no idea where they should go in the hob. The instruction manual does not have a detailed diagram showing where these should go at all. All I found in the manual about the metal grease filter is: ‘To remove the filter, lift up the fan cover and LIFT THE U-SHAPED STAINLESS STEEL VENTILATION PLATE in the suction opening upwards to remove it from the fan’, but there is no REMOVABLE U-SHAPED STAINLESS STEEL VENTILATION PLATE I can find and lift at all. So I went to Howdens Whitstable to ask the kitchen designer who took my order. When I pointed to something in one of the drawings that it looked like a U-shaped ventilation plate which I don’t have, he argued with me that it looked to him a C-SHAPED component… he then complained that he wasn’t a product manager or designer so he didn’t know. At no time I blamed him for not knowing where the metal grease filter went. I understand fully that he was only a kitchen designer. He said all he could do was to ring up his product department and asked. He did so, but again we were getting nowhere from his colleague over the phone. He insisted that the stainless steel edge around the fan opening of my hob IS the U-SHAPED VENTILATION PLATE, and that I need to try to lift it up. I was getting nowhere. I went home and looked again. There is no U-SHAPED ventilation plate inside the fan compartment, which I can lift up -everything is screwed in. This is a hob which has cost me over a grand and this is a complete shambles. The instruction manual is inadequate and out-of-date, and the fitter didn’t get the info he needed to do the installation correctly and the Howdens shop staff was defensive. Do NOT buy from them their LAMONA induction hob with integrated downdraught extractor. Had I known what a shambles it was I would have bought a BOSCH one instead. Woeful.
