What can I say. From the initial Planning Visit, Design, and ultimate completion, the service was Excellent.

Lauren is a complete Star. I'd had a design in my head, she understood what we were trying to achieve, and when we got the renders we were blown away.
We visited several times to tweak the design, and her knowledge of every shape and size of unit, door, sink, etc, made the results something really special. She really has an eye for the design and functionality, and her recall of the decisions we made (and why) were amazing. My own mind often works quicker than my mouth, but she managed to keep up with what I was thinking and talking about which is no mean feat.

Once we finalised the designs, the units were delivered within days, on time, and during the project any issues (a few at most) were dealt with, usually from stock or next day.

As a competent DIY'er, this was my first Utility & Kitchen. The Utility was the dry run for the Kitchen, and we liked it so much we used the same pallet of design and colours in the Kitchen. There were many little touches to the design of the units and fixings that seemed insignificant, but made the install far easier. I've built and installed kitchen units from B&Q in the past and can say that they're "OK", but the quality of units from Howdens was far better.

The assistance, help and advice from the whole team (Lauren, Gemma, AJ, Jess & Rian) was excellent. Little things like answering the phone promptly and professionally and recognising me when I walked through the door just gave a good feeling for the whole project. Nothing was too much trouble.

I've since visited them for smaller items, and got exactly the same professional service.

8 months post project and we're still so impressed with our new rooms.

Howdens management going back on agreed worktop pricing.
Howdens Ivy House Lane, Ore, Hastings, agreed quartz kitchen worktop and splashback price back in October 2025, we added quartz splashback to our larder unit later on when we placed the order, which increased the cost slightly but was agreed by us.
The engineer turned up and templated the kitchen worktop and splashback precisely with a laser - all good so far.
A couple of points here:- the templater recommended stepping the end of one worktop surface back to a shallow cupboard to continue the same profile as the standard cupboard, and the splashback above the hob was templated in one piece.
At no point was it suggested that Howdens would increase cost due to this design as it was described during purchase that the square meterage dictates the cost and the templater just said all was OK.
Howdens then told us there would be another approximately £700 to pay for the worktops due to changes in design.
At this point I reminded Howdens that our corner larder unit fitting was a nightmare to fit when adjacent to an appliance tower, as there's little to no room to open the door without it clashing on the adjacent unit.
Our kitchen fitter then found mounting standard hinges from those provided made the clearance better - however a day spent by the fitter to dismantle and fiddle with clearances on the cupboard is at my cost.
Howdens then agreed to cover the increased cost of the worktop as a gesture of goodwill due to the fitting problems with the kitchen.
BUT
Howdens have now reneged on that gesture and demanded the worktop increase to be paid of approaching an extra £700.
We only opted for Howdens worktops as they template one week and fit the next and accepted that there are cheaper options elsewhere but the convenience won us over.
However I can't accept paying £6200 for worktop when the price was agreed at £5500.
I have reluctantly had to cancel the worktop order.
Now Howdens have left us with an unfinished kitchen which will be several weeks before I can get the kitchen re-templated and worktops sourced elsewhere and fitted.
It really annoys me if an agreement is made (unfortunately verbally) then withdrawn.

Hastings NORTH staff are an asset to Howdens as they improved the planning process.
The units arrived on time , any issues were taken care of to my satisfaction.
Must say Rian who delivered the units positioned them in the order required which was a big help.

They had exactly what I wanted at a competitive price

Howdens North Hastings provided an excellent service right from the start. Communication was fantastic. Our kitchen designer, Lauren, was excellent. Her design knowledge was impeccable and she really listened to what we wanted. We had several meetings with her which were easy to schedule. She talked us through the options available and adapted the designs accordingly. She is also a super friendly person and organised person, which made the process extra enjoyable.

I got a wonderful kitchen from Howdens in North Hastings and was very pleased with everything about it.

The staff (Lauren and Gemma) were super helpful at every stage of the install. Whether it was to replace a part, or a general query, the service was amazing and always with a smile!

I would always recommend the team at Howdens as their kitchens are good quality and the service is second to none. If you need a part quickly, they get it done, unlike many other kitchen companies that I could mention!

Extremely helpful staff , always polite and attentive

We got a couple of quotes and Howdens gave us best reasonable price which allowed us to spend more for kitchen top and splash back. We are so happy with the result. Lauren was very helpful and pleasant. She answered any questions we had promptly during installation which wiped out my worries. So whole experience was very smooth and enjoyable.

The staff at North Hastings are invariably friendly and helpful. Customer service is exemplary.

Managers Gemma is so helpful and knowledgeable, together with all her staff they are great assets to the company.
