I have recently had a kitchen from Howdens Walkden. What a dreadful experience I had. Firstly I waited months for a kitchen to be installed which fell way below my expectations and previous experiences of new kitchens. The first plan that was done by a kitchen planner was for a room where the house's original kitchen had been. This was for a big kitchen with a big seating area. I paid for this as they wanted the money straight up.
After months of comings and goings I was talked out of what I wanted and advised to put the kitchen back into where the former owner had it. This being a smaller room which has been built onto the back of my house.
A new plan was done by another kitchen planner who, I believe no longer works for Howdens. This being a much smaller room I was never really happy with the amount of cabinets it could hold. Ie I have one wall cupboard and one base in a corner. I can't use the corner base as I have a spinal injury and I did tell the planner this.
The only other cupboard space is the bit you get with your oven housing unit.
Moving on to day to day use. When the fitter got to the last bit after the plumbing. The washer wouldn't fit. It had been measured wrong. The end panel on sink had to be removed and my washer was then literally rammed in. It looks dreadful. If it ever needs replacing It won't come out. They couldn't even get a skirting board on. So that had to be chopped off.
The oven is unusable it doesn't reach correct temperatures. I wasn't offered a choice on appliances, they were just sent! I was promised a replacement but it never arrived. The sink is chipped! The hobs hood is not fastened, again unusable! as it is not secured.
As for cost I never did get a receipt for the second kitchen. I was sick of asking in the end. I was just charged what I had paid for the bigger kitchen. I have considered ringing up yet again but I can't see the point. They didn't seem too concerned once they'd got my money. I would never recommend this company. I have had much better in the past.

Used Howdens at Walkden, Salford. Excellent service from start to finish. Reece, our planner, helped measure and plan our kitchen, found an installer and acted as a go-between throughout installation. The cabinets themselves, although from Howdens basic range, are sturdy and "look the business". The fitter was excellent. From planning to fitting kitchen - 10 days! Brilliant. (And well done Reece)

In terms of the design & sale of the kitchen I would give 1st class service.
In terms of follow on care I would only give 3☆ never able to speak to sales/design team, never able to get past reception, message either on the phone or out of office. Phone calls promised never returned.

Issues with Lok n Store and once delivery organised the swaps not sorted as promised- which means another delivery to wait in for.
This is my 2nd Howdens kitchen and I wouldn't hesitate recomending their products, but I would use another branch to source any items.

Staff made it easy to order and helped at matching kitchen doors and worktop, very helpful

I recently purchased a kitchen from the Walkden branch and was extremely impressed with their management and expertise. Making my experience as stress free as possible.

Really impressed with the work done by howdens. Reece turned up on time and get all the measurements done, products were ordered and delivered quickly.

I had fantastic service from start to finish
Felt that nothing was to much trouble .

Not very good after nearly 25 years of dealing with Howdens it’s customer loyalty is shocking especially if your a tradesman looking to take my business to a competitor every time materials missing and your invoiced for them and then you argue to sort it out and it’s Howdens mistake not the tradesmen very poor use to be good but not any more plus your always out of pocket with lost time picking up what’s missing your told it’s coming into stock then doesn’t arrive spend more time picking stuff up and you loose time and money not the best anymore 👍

They told me that they have a 55% sale on , I told Tom the rep that it was a rental property, so I didn't want to spend a lot as tenants damage, the 10 quotes I've had from other companies was between £4000/£4500 and that's supply/fit , Tom is telling me with 55% off the price is over £5000 just for kitchen , I have a small kitchen , Tom's a liar and howdens just lost me buying 3 kitchens of them because I believe or trust them ,when all they want us to rip you and me off ..scam sale

The staff were very helpful and the product was exactly what we wanted and was in stock.

Wanted a new kitchen for our new house and we decided to go with Howdens !
We used the Walkden branch and want to say what a fantastic service we received from the get go right through until our dream kitchen was completed !
From the measuring, designing, us making loads of changes and it being delivered exactly when we asked for it all went so smoothly !
Cannot recommend highly enough, even the new manager Faye went above and beyond to make sure we were totally happy with everything !
Looking forward to hosting a lovely Xmas dinner showing off our new kitchen We love it !

Howdens Walkden branch and in particular Faye, Victoria and Reese are very professional and the service is outstanding cannot fault them in anyway they have been absolutely brilliant with all my clients and I cannot say a bad word about them. I would highly recommend and plan to continue using in the foreseeable future. Many thanks from Mike all aspects home improvements.

Excellent service as per usual from the team at Walkden Howdens. Faye has created an amazing team. I couldn’t not recommend this branch more as they would do anything to help you out where possible with your orders. 5 star service.
