My fiance bought me an engagement ring in November, and proposed the end of December only for the diamond to fall out after 3 weeks.
It was sent away for inspection and we were told it was 'customer fault due to heavy impact'. I was watching tv, looked down and the diamond had fell out. It's their word against ours (their inspectors are conveniently saying it's our fault) and tried to get us to pay £140.
We argued and argued that it was completely ridiculous, an engagement ring should be wearable and for it to break after 3 weeks of wear is absolutely ridiculous. The clasp was fine, there was no damage. It simply came out due to poor manufacturing. The manager ended up saying she was doing it out of 'goodwill' exchanging it, which would have been lovely had she not have been so rude when we attended the shop, making it clear it was apparently our fault.
I found the whole experience really upsetting, after such a lovely engagement in the December, for this to happen. H Samuel's are just trying to get any money out of you they can get and it's very upsetting when my partner spend a long time saving for the ring.

Very quick and easy to find what I was after and the site was very easy to move round

Once I had decided what I wanted I found it quite simple to find and order.

Very good service, they had a sale online, but the item was full price in store. No problem getting the discount to match price online.

The service in the Lincoln Store from Emma was first class. She was extremely knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for her. Highly recommend.

Visited today and waited for a staff member to serve me, as only 3 staff in store and a couple buying. Two staff looked over but at no time was I acknowledged or told they’d be assisting me shortly. Unsure how long that may continue after approx 5 mins , I walked out and have made my purchase elsewhere. Your loss Samuels and staff should be trained in good PR , at least acknowledge a customer , and they weren’t even busy .!!

Bought as a 45th wedding anniversary gift. The bracelet is beautiful, well made, and looks great on my wife. The stones are very dark ('black') but suit us as we already have sapphire jewellery in different shades of blue. Admired by family and friends alike.

After a really bad experience with a their sister company I wasn’t expecting much better service. I was actually blown away with the experience, me and my partner was asked what we WANTED not just rushed around. I like most women had a list of what my perfect engagement ring would be, the lady picked a couple of rings that fit my list and my partners budget. I fell in love with the first one she offered to show us more but we found the one we wanted. It was nice not to be rushed or pushed into anything and actually be listened too.

Was looking for a anniversary gift for my husband and they young lady was very helpful

I bought two items and my son bought one. The shop had a lovely atmosphere and the lady who helped us and served us was so nice. Was a lovely shopping experience and great to visit as my local shop in Wisbech has sadly closed. Our time in the shop was definitely 5 stars.

Staff where friendly and helpful and Covud safe.

My visit to H Samuel in Lincoln was absolutely heavenly. I explained to the young assistant what I was shopping for, told her my budget, and in minutes we had the perfect selection. She was so knowledgeable of the stock, and made very good suggestions that I was very grateful for. I thought it would be a difficult shopping trip, but it was the best place we visited that day. I can't remember her name, and the receipt has been given with the gift, so I have no reference to this asistant's name,but she was really professional and lovely.
