Easy to use , good service

I purchased a ring as I recently had a baby and wanted a piece of jewellery with her birthstone in it and after doing lots of shopping about and saving behind any extra money I had from maternity pay I decided on h Samuel. My delivery arrived and I was initially happy with my purchase until just one month later! I took the ring off for her bed and noticed it was misshaped and a stone had fallen out. I was confused as I wasn’t aware of knocking it which concerned me about how poorly the ring had been made to be damaged without realisation of how it happened. Nevertheless, I contacted the online chat and was informed all jewellery comes with a one year warranty and if I took it into a store the issue would be resolved. I had shown the agent pictures of the ring and explained the situation so was confident the ring would be sorted once I was in store under the warranty system. I visited the Livingstone store and was informed that it wouldn’t be fixed under warranty as it looked like ‘accidental damage’. The lady done some work on the computer for around 5 minutes and came back with a quote of £130 to have the ring repaired. £130!! I paid £119 for the ring so I’ve no idea where they pulled that figure from as I could have bought the ring brand new for cheaper than the repair price if I could have afforded it and hadn’t lost trust in H samuels quality of jewellery (will never purchase from them again!!). I contacted the online chat again once home to explain the situation and how I was furious I had been given false hope and information. I was put through to a duty manager (Jade) and informed all information was correct however the women should have sent it the ring away to be checked over incase it was a problem with the design. I am devastated as I feel as though I have thrown money away at something that was supposed to be sentimental to me and I cannot afford to have it replaced/repaired on tight maternity pay. I put my trust and confidence in h Samuel and have been thoroughly let down. I will now be avoiding them at all costs and will warn everybody else to as well as their silver jewellery is cheap quality. I might as well add that the customer service assistant in the store also informed me she warns men against buying silver h Samuel jewellery for their partners as it doesn’t hold well and isn’t strong. She also stated she wasn’t surprised the ring was damaged as the design wasn’t very great as the band only attaches to the stone on one part. That tells you it all when a staff member doesn’t have confidence in the quality of their jewellery.

It was easy to look at the goods and no rush in picking somthing which I did xx

Needed a watch battery. Thought you were very expensive. Could have bough a new watch for a few pounds more (very basic- large dial - my husband can’t see the small faces)
