I visited the Portsmouth Commercial Road store today to exchange a ring my husband had purchased for me, and the experience was extremely disappointing.

The staff member who assisted us, Beth, was outright rude and came across as irritated and unprofessional from the start. There was no basic courtesy, no willingness to help, and her attitude made the entire process unnecessarily uncomfortable and frustrating.What was even more upsetting was that her attitude felt targeted and made me feel disrespected on a personal level, which made the experience even worse.

What should have been a simple exchange turned into a negative experience purely because of the way we were treated. If it wasn’t for the fact that I wanted to keep my gift and just change the size, I would have walked out and not purchased anything at all.

Customer service like this is completely unacceptable, especially in a retail environment where customers expect at least a basic level of respect. This experience has definitely put me off returning to this store.

I would not recommend getting served by this staff member.

Unfortunately I can’t remember her name but called to ask about some information on your piercing service and she was just so lovely and helpful! Was a young lady on the phone so I hope you know who I’m talking about and give her the praise she deserves. I rarely see good customer service and well hers has me writing reviews lol. Thankyou to her she cheered me up after a stressful day :)

I took my engagement into l ring into store to be cleaned and have the hallmark put back on. (It was either removed when resized or worn away). In the store they were having issues with the system. However I was all sorted and told to collect the ring on March 28th. I left it an extra week, went into store to discover my ring had been lost. At no point had anyone communicated with me. There was back and forth with the store manager blaming everyone else and that the issue with their systems that day caused the mess up. (They use DX numbers and my rings' number didn't match anything). The higher ups did compensate me, via their insurance and a nominal £200 for all the problems. However, I still have no real idea where my ring is. It's "just lost". Now, my engagement ring was bought in 2020, for just shy of £1000, so i don't think anyone would've stolen it. Especially when you look at the prices of watches and other jewellery they have in store.

The whole thing took around 8weeks to sort out.

My engagement ring was very precious to me, but I do wonder what would've happened if they lost a family heirloom.

Mistakes do happen, but the ring has to be somewhere, the lack of communication at the start was a joke and the store manager happily through colleagues under the bus,by blaming other departments.

Engagement Ring diamond clasp bent and catching. H Samuel denied warranty repair stating cost would be £145. Owner is 71 year old lady no hobbies just knitting. Requested return and sourced repair locally at £45. Gerald Ratner was correct they sell CRAP. H Samuel had their opportunity to do the right thing. I will never buy from them again and urge other people to do the same. My partner rang this number, as requested, - they are not going todo anything.

I recently visited H. Samuel (Commercial Road, Portsmouth) for an ear piercing and was thoroughly impressed with the service. Michael, who performed the piercing, was exceptionally professional and skilled. He made the entire process quick and comfortable, ensuring there was no pain at all. The atmosphere in the shop was welcoming and calming, which made the experience even more pleasant. I highly recommend this service for anyone looking for a smooth and stress-free ear piercing.

dont go there avoid off all cost the watch didnt fit went back ask can you add extra link they was like no and then asked can you possible exchange it they said no im telling everyone no to go there

I been looking for a men’s rotary watch for a while now and when I saw this ultra slim watch. I Liked it very much. so I am very pleased with this purchase.

Absolutely unbelievable completely rude and Obnoxious staff who think they are working in harrods, snotty attitude never again will I lower myself to visit this store

Was sadden to have my engagement ring break after only three months of having it and two weeks of that it was sent off to be resized as they didn’t have my correct size in stock. Waited almost four weeks to have my ring returned with no information until the branch manager Mat was able to offer help and assist with providing an update, he was the only person in the branch to be so helpful after being provided confusing information by other members of staff.

We purchased are ring online and was told due to this we couldn’t have the insurance but when bringing the ring in we were told because we collected the ring from store, we could of had the insurance but was never offered the insurance again. Ring didn’t come under guarantee for some reason even though it’s only three months old and was told it would come to the cost of the branch, only knew there was a charge once we enquired otherwise I doubt we would have been told this prior to having the ring collected.

Received my ring back today to be told due to the now repair it’s had; it now gets the one year guarantee?

If it wasn’t for Mat, I’d be giving less stars due to the circumstances.

Sadly i have award 1 star to these crooks.
Worst customer service i have ever had the displeasure to come across. Portsmouth cascade branch and manager completely un helpful un friendly and have not a clue what they are doing . online experience was as bad never again and i still have a watch 8 months old that is faulty

The man who served us has been so helpful and nice. Sorted the repair of our ring in no time so we were able to take it with us for our holiday. Exceptional effort and kindness.

Very happy. Patient while I agonised about the engagement ring and quickly adjusted it when we found it didn't fit.

One of the sister companies told us to pop along and we found exactly what we where looking for my birthday and we went back and purchase a necklace which I really liked, the gentleman that helped us first was really helpful, we would definitely shop there again very satisfied,
