Couldn't think that a course you paid

Couldn't think that a course you paid for would turn out like a YouTube playlist with a few more extras. The Splunk content seemed very surface-level—sourcetypes, indexes, and role-based access were briefly mentioned in the videos that lasted just 10 minutes. They talked about neither real-world log analysis nor any examples of it but only the fluff of the theory. The last 'project' was the funniest thing ever: a dashboard that had been created beforehand and that we needed to make minimal changes to. They said, ' This is for the beginners', when I gave my complaint. Sure, beginners who do not seek any practical experience. It was my school that collaborated with this particular organization, and thus, now I regret that I did not learn from the free docs directly. Keep your cash and stay sane.

They were committed to delivering ‘industry-level training’, and in the end, all we were given was a man reading out of a PDF. No case studies, no access to tools like SEMrush or Google Ads Editor—only the theoretical part of the topic. The ‘placement assistance’ was nothing to write home about; they just came up with a general LinkedIn post and that was it. I applied for junior PPC positions but got rejected in all technical rounds because the curriculum overlooked topics such as negative keyword and ad schedule strategies. Now I am left with no option but to take a cheaper Udemy course to rectify the situation. Don’t waste your resources and time; the so-called ‘advanced’ course is a rip-off.

It was pretty apparent from the first day that this PMI-ACP course was more interested in the money. The study material was very incorrect, e.g. wrong formulae in the agile metrics section, wrong definitions of user stories as well as outdated PMBOK 5. The teacher, who was the same person who kept postponing classes at a very short notice, introduced absolutely new issues in the final exam which was not part of the syllabus at all. I failed it twice before I decided to give up. Now, I felt that the employers marked my resume negatively because I was unable to pass a 'basic' agile certification. The course did not only consume my time, it also negatively affected my image.

I have taken this React with Redux course in an attempt to improve my skills to work on a freelance project. The instructor covered the basics quickly and also demonstrated different concepts such as state management and middleware through real-world examples at least at the beginning. The section of Redux in the course was very confusing. The course only explained what actions, reducers, and stores are separately, and I was abandoned in the process of connecting them. After I learned some middleware such as Thunk, I was confused to such an extent that I had to abandon my project and start over by watching YouTube tutorials. The course not only affilicted me the waste of time but also caused me to be behind the schedule by two weeks.

I joined the Golang course with the intention of laying a solid foundation but it turned out to be the worst course that I have ever seen. The trainer just briefly talked about the basic syntax without telling the participants what goroutines or channels do or how they are used. Furthermore, the source code was caught from obsoleted blogs, and the ‘projects’ were not more than changing one word in a program. The answer from the forum didn't appear until after weeks and I lost my patience already at this time. Rather than learning and growing, it was the course that made things even worse when I had to acquire assistance from free resources due to the shortage of time for me before my interview with the company. What’s more, the 'certificate' they provided contained typing errors, so it wasn’t given the slightest bit of attention, let alone seriousness.

I am scratching my head and wondering why I took this Minitab course when it didn't teach me anything at all. The tutor did not even elaborate on how to correctly work with the basic features such as ANOVA or regression. I was expecting to benefit from the skills that I acquired during my statistics project, but instead the units were so quickly presented and the examples were ancient. The truth is that I was desperately in need of assistance, but the help came after two or maybe even three days. Unfortunately, I was late to the party because I had already found a way through it on my own when my project was already overdue. Honestly, this class was an impoverishing rather than a beneficial experience for me.

This eLearning course shattered my confidence in agile certifications. The content was very chaotic—units were skipping from XP practices to SAFe without the correct introduction, which made me feel bewildered. The ‘mentor’ who was supposed to guide me disappeared right after the first week, and the platform used to have lots of technical bugs during the test. In addition, the course itself was not even informed about the PMI-ACP changes to hybrid approaches. I was forced to spend more money on other study materials and simulators, so I could work out the issues produced by this course. My promotion got postponed, and the culprit is the months spent on a milkless program.

On the very first day of the Mendix

On the very first day of the Mendix course, it was quite clear that the course was not what it seemed to be. The 'certified trainers' were not able to answer simple questions about REST integrations or database modularization. The system kept crashing during exercises and besides fixing the issue, they asked us to 'try again later.' The capstone project? It was a really faulty CRUD app, which they couldn’t even deploy. I thought I was going to get an internship, but after this disaster, I failed even the simplest technical interviews. The most outrageous thing is that there was no follow-up from them after they had made the payments—the students got no feedback, no corrections, and no help. Totally a waste of time and money.

Although the AWS course was advertising

Although the AWS course was advertising practical tasks, in reality, the majority of them have been just rephrased from the free AWS documentation. The teacher was constantly delivering a monotonous lecture about theory without at any point walking through real-world problems such as debugging Lambda issues or creating IAM roles securely. Whenever I was asking for assistance, the answer they usually gave was "you can search for it in Google." And as for the final project, it was as simple as creating a static website, which even up to the point I had already done through YouTube tutorials. It is like I have been tricked into paying hundreds of dollars for something that I could have easily got for free elsewhere.

It is as if this alone ruined my interest in backend development. There was no real effort put in the projects; they were just some random CRUD apps that no one would use in the real world. The instructor, though he kept praising his 'industry experience', could not even guide on how to structure a basic Go project. When I asked him about the best practices, he just stretched his arms and said, 'Google it.' The final project 'capstone' was a disaster—simply put, an advanced to-do list that no one would ever consider mentioning in a job application. There were times during interviews with companies that my talk about it made them burst into laughter. Go for this program only if you relish burning a hole in your pocket and time! details

The Imperva course was sold as a great

The Imperva course was sold as a great opportunity to move forward with my career, but in reality, it became a total catastrophe. The labs were not enough, broken simulations, which did not coincide with the current Imperva console. I've been trying to set up WAF rules for hours, but the instructions lack clarity, and the support team only sent me copy-pasted docs. After I failed the exam two times, I found out that the subjects in the exam did not match the subjects in the course, and I was puzzled. As a result of this situation, I understood that the course material has never been updated. When my manager cast doubt on my skills, I had to take some extra time to reacquaint with other sources to correct the gaps this course had made.

I took up the Apttus CLM course to gain a more in-depth understanding of contract lifecycle management, yet the course turned out to be a big disappointment. The modules had outdated content, also containing screenshots from older software that does not exist anymore. The trainer went too fast with the concepts and did not trouble himself to discuss the application of those in real-life situations. Towards the end, the certificate I had was just a piece of paper for me to frame but not as something for me to apply the gained knowledge. I even was laughed at during one of my interviews by some of the recruiters; they did so to show me how bad the course is by the reaction they gave. I suggest that you don’t take this course and instead opt for real-world training that is more practical and hands-on.

To begin with

To begin with, it seemed like the course was a fraud. The so-called "practical" tasks were carried out in a sandbox, which was always crashing, and the instructor's videos were nothing more than slides read-aloud—without any clear examples. Even when I inquired about the Imperva deployment scenario in the real world, the answers in the forum were only generic and without any direction. It was me that my team was counting on to direct a security rollout after the training, but the theoretical grounding of it left me unprepared. Consequently, now I am in the place of having to go through another provider's training again leading to double waste of both time and company budget.

The course was recommended as a project

The course was recommended as a project for rookies, however, as soon as I arrived, some lousy modules were waiting that assumed a background in advanced statistics. Moreover, I was not given any instructions following which I could process the video tutorials because they were all screen recordings with no speakers. The quizzes were not clear to me and I didn't know most of the things from the questions. As a result, I was left frustrated and spent a lot of time searching for answers online. Rather than offer me knowledge in the form of training materials, this course actually posed questions about my grasp of the basics. The teachers’ indifferent attitude and the outdated interface together led me to conclude that the entire course was a flimflam.

I had high expectations for this course

I had high expectations for this course and believed that it would be the perfect solution for me to transition to a development team that is operating according to the Agile methodologies. Instead, I realized the exact opposite. The teacher was the biggest problem, to be honest, because he spent almost all the time talking about his 'so-called' professional career and less about the subject matter. The 'case studies' were just rudimentary problems of the team and not at all related to any actual Scrum issues. My question regarding the implementation of frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS was met with a negative answer since the teacher told me 'I was wasting time talking about things that were not even good or true in regard to Scrum' and to move on to the next topic. That said, I didn't expect that the employer in the job interview would seriously go into these topics; hence, I was surprised to see that the interview process turned into a face-to-face interrogation, and I was left without the interviewers questions answered. It makes me feel like my certification is not worth it at all - I am sure no boss will recognize it in this way.

This Flutter course came across as a fraud. The instructor himself was using modules with deprecated packages and was always talking about fixing it 'in the next stages' although no corrections were made. The final task was to build a to-do app, a simple thing which was possible to do for even me following a 10-minute tutorial. When I approached them with my issues with Navigator 2.0, they gave me a daunting reply, asking me to 'figure it out.' The career support was represented by a single PDF file with several generic resume recommendations. Now, I am still in the situation where I am not able to find companies that will hire me simply because the course did not go beyond the basics of widgets. Don't waste your money, as this is not education, it's theft.

I recently completed the DevOps

I recently completed the DevOps training from igmguru, and it was a truly rewarding experience. Coming from a non-DevOps background, I appreciated how well-structured and hands-on the course was. Our mentor was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive - he explained complex topics like CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes in a simple, practical way that made learning easy.

The real-time projects and assignments helped me build confidence, and the support team was always quick to respond to any queries. Thanks to this training, I now feel much more confident in interviews and have started applying my skills professionally.

Highly recommend igmguru to anyone looking to get into DevOps!

The course went downhill from the very beginning. The trainer barely talked about a technical side of Rails MVC architecture, and all I got after inquiring about ActiveRecord associations was a link copied from the Rails guide. The practical sessions were using Rails 5 while the community already had a full-time job with Rails 7. The courses lacked interaction, no help with solving the bug, only pre-recorded videos from 2018. By the time I had completed the course, I couldn’t even come up with the idea of building a basic CRUD app without using my mobile phone to Google every step. I was not at all prepared for my internship interview since I didn’t know how to implement JWT auth, which was never included in the course.
