I would give it a zero if I could! A complete and total waste of time and effort and energy! Do not bother! I was constantly bombarded with scammers and IF I actually found a "normal" person to chat with, the conversation usually lasted with 3 or 4 exchanges and poof---ghosted! No rhyme or reason--just radio silence! So my thought process is that even if you manage to reach someone who is not a scammer, they are either too lazy or to stupid to follow through or to put a coherent sentence together. The best thing I did was to delete my account!

Don't bother, had an account and then after 2 years they suddenly suspended it for no reason at all!

Twice now i have tried to set up an account again, and twice it has been suspended for no reason at all. They say 'suspicious activity' but i created an account and then sent a couple of messages, literally suspending accounts for doing exactly what the app is meant to be used for!

Save yourself the bother because if you do start to make any friends or speak to anyone you could just lose touch with them in an instant because these idiots decide they want to get rid of your account!

Awful site. Full of scammers and the bots will delete your profile for virtually no apparent reason Give it a miss!

interpals have suspended my 14 years old account suddenly without any reason. have lost photo albums of my world tour, 40 countries. I have written many emails requestingt to give my account back for all those thousand pictures that i will never have. but interpals never have replied. I have lost all those photos, friends and 14 years memories. Such a trash and irresponsible site!!

Hilariously awful site.
Approached by some guy who was an illegal who wanted a gf in the US for "tax purposes".
Another guy immediately wanted me to visit, pay for the flight, to "show me around".
Another guy was hoping I was married apparently to have an affair - super creepy vibe. I made it plain on my profile I wanted friends only.
This place is a bad virtual bar, they glom onto your photo , don't read your profile, and try to take you on their ride. Very few sincere people. In fact 90 percent were not, and totally creepy.
I met a decent guy from Belarus. The rest who are semi-decent - that 10 percent - are so low effort it isn't even funny.
No doubt the site is being used as a total gateway for God literally only knows what, and it's coming down from the top.
The interface, as others mentioned, is very clunky.
OH yeah, a lot of the dudes want to move you onto whatsapp immediately - gee, I wonder why.
I'd say, avoid.

This site is a joke, I had made a few friends on the site some who I chatted with daily and then chatting to one on my friends on the site and without any warning right in the middle of the conversation account suspended, so what is wrong with chatting to someone about how their day has been the site is utter bollox

I endorse most of the other reviews, which mention the prevalence of fakes and scammers. This has been my experience too.

I want to add the following. Interpal's bots look for "suspicious activity", and suspend accounts when they find it. However, the bots are mistaken. They will declare something suspicious that was perfectly innocent. Then you can't appeal. I wrote to the Interpals query email address three times stating the above problem. No human reviews the decisions nor responds to unfairly affected people. Obviously no one is monitoring the mailbox. The site is run by bots, ironic considering that the site is supposed to be about human interaction.

Unhappy experience. Even if they reinstate me, I'm quitting interpals.

As these people there think it's fine to keep scammers and fake accs on their app, but keep deleting accs without any warning or valuable reason (mine just got deleted for the 5th time now). On behalf of all the people complaining about it with no change, I have decided to contact my lawyer and am in touch with an association for the protection of customers. You guys keep playing with us now, let's see how the coin is going to flip.

I’ve been a long time user on this app. I have met some nice people too, but the number of creeps who get you reported and suspended for no reason is much higher. It’s the most annoying site/app. 4 accounts, all suspended for no reason. Yet all the creeps/scammers and so on are there lurking about and not being suspended. InterPals you need to get your priorities checked and change how you deal with reports, if it’s even anyone there dealing with it..

This is literally the worst app I've ever seen. Those who control it are either asleep or probably on bad stuff.. Older people comment on minors, allow inappropriate content, and ban accounts that share their opinions about this app. There's nothing good about it. My advice: delete this app and make yourself safe. Download Hellotalk or something else and relax from this bullshit.

Getting worse and worse...

I had other hopes with this site... some people are scammers (I had to block China), sometimes Asian girls 'hide' in az European country and pretend to be good, while they recommend online trading later (my profile already says that it is forbidden). Western people, especially women don't answer to Eastern European accounts. I wanted to practice German but I was blocked. I am planning to delete my account.
Also, the browser version is obscure, 90s.
So avoid it, as much as you can.

This site is trash. It's filled with nothing but fake profiles, bots and scammers who use fake pictures and copy-paste profiles. Then when you report someone for breaking the rules of the site or attempting to steal your information, the moderators suspend your account.

I met my best friend here, for this I would rate it 5 stars but everything else about the site was bad and I would give it 1 stars for that. The site has many people looking for dating who aren't interested in friends, and most people who say that they are interested in friendship never reply or keep up a conversation. Also the moderators cancel women's profiles if they post any revealing pictures, even when it it is less revealing than a bikini, but men post pictures of themselves without their shirts and some only in shorts but are never removed for it. Most of the women on there mention also having trouble with perverts. There are a good many people who want language exchange but I don't know how many are serious about it.

Site administrators and admins do not care about the site members. They are chasing romance. They kick members out of the site for no reason and prevent them from logging in again.

When you sign up, you quickly receive messages and are promptly asked to communicate via WhatsApp or a chat service. Genuine pen pals who genuinely want to help each other learn languages are the exception. It's a shame. I'm going to delete my account now.

To app is going good

This company doesn't let you come back once you've decided to delete your account, then this email can't ever be used anymore. And if you try with other email addresses they'll block you insteant. And, of course, their support will never answer you.

Don't use Interpals. It's full of gaslighters, fakes, scammers, marriage seekers, and visa chasers. I can honestly say it affected my mental health for the worse, no hyperbole if you're interested in learning a different language and/or culture. Interpals isn't it.

Interpals was supposed to be a free website for pen pals.
Ages ago I did gain a successful pen pal and unfortunately she became too busy. Now the platform wants more details like occupational, material status, qualifications etc. more of a romance scam site. Stealing images.
Unfortunately you can't delete your account after 7 days (just deactivate); stay away from the website. More of Russian and Belarus people on there as they found a loop hole. Clunky website.
One year I had to contact the UK police as I found inappropriate content.
