My daughter has only attended 3 classes so far, but is really enjoying it. And comes out of class in high spirits every week. Hopefully she will continue her karate journey with Ippon.

Five of my family members, including myself, attend the club. It started with my mum, my little brother and my autistic sister. Then my daughter joined and i followed the suit at 34yo. I couldn't have made a better decision. Karate with Ippon, strengthened our values, discipline, fitness and harmony. It improved not just our bodies, but our minds too. I have to say this from personal experience: i have an attitude in life. I tend to voice my opinions and reap the consequences at times. I talk back. I can even be confrontational at times. Not in Dojo. Dojo is a place where I go and give my all, spiritually, mentally and physically, without all the attitude I may have outside the place.I push myself harder and get out of my comfort zone. I let my Sensei take over my time whilst there and yes, Sensei is the boss. People who never did karate or any marital arts for that matter, will not understand. The best athletes in the world are produced by going through
rigorous trainings, mental challenges, high AND lows. I think Ippon Karate doesn't just produce great athletes. The club builds your confidence, self-worth and respect to others. I would never choose another place to train.

I went here for 2 days and I have a lot to say.. My friend also did karate from a different dojo. His dojo had more budget they had for example: Gi’s, mitts,headgear and a mat on the floor but in ippon (st bedes) they don’t even have a mat or a heavy bag. One thing I have noticed is that there are more black belts than the other belts so this is definitely a ‘quick road to black belt’

My son started his karate journey with Ippon 6 years ago, it as been the best thing to happen to him, he as grown in confidence with the help of the sensei and loves attending classes. Would definitely recommend the club to anyone who would like to start a journey in karate

My daughter Lily joined this club 6 years ago and it's been one of the best decisions she/we have made. She was a shy little thing when she joined but over the years she has grown into a very confident young lady and this club has been a big part of that. Yes the kids, and grown ups, get good exercise,self defence skills and make friends along the way but the more impressive lessons I've found are respect, discipline and most importantly the fact that hard work pays off. Ideals i strongly feel are missing in a lot of today's youth. The sensei's are firm, fair and encouraging. They all started at beginners too and you can tell they remember that with the patience they show when teaching moves and techniques. Aside from that the more senior belts are always ready to offer support,help and advice.I honestly couldn't recommend this club enough. Remember theirs nothing lost in trying.

My daughter and I attended this karate together for five years at Bury and Radcliffe . We were taught by sensei Jason, Sensei Phil and Sensei Jess. Sensei Jess and Phil gave us the confidence and skills we needed to use karate in real life… if required and to be able to pass each grade. Sensei Jason used his experience to refine our skills. The has club is a great family atmosphere and we have made many good friend there.

My son, Luke, started training at Ippon Karate Academy in January 2023, and he absolutely loves it there. He looks forward to training sessions every Monday and Thursday at Walkden with Sensei Jason. Luke enjoys practicing his moves on me at home and has made great friends at the academy. He is really keen and focused on achieving his dream by gaining his black belt.

Sensei Jason is warm and welcoming, ensuring that children develop a strong sense of discipline and resilience. He treats every student with equal respect and support, regardless of their belt and grade.

Taking Luke to Ippon Karate Academy was the best decision. His confidence has grown massively as well as his strength, and he's made friends and family for life!

All students are well disciplined and really look after the little ones.
Highly recommend!

Sensei Jason is there for all his students and also very supportive to parents too. The guys a legend. I know I can always count on him.

My children attended this karate last year and really enjoyed it with the sensei they had at the time. Jason the owner of the karate club "sensei jason" is arrogant he will tell your child that he is the boss and they have to do as he says. We attended an awards night and all was going well until Jason marched my son over to the table and made him sit down for running around with the other children! I then asked my son that was crying what had happened and he couldn't answer me. I then asked Jason why my son had to stay there, and he said because I said so. Then I asked again and he gave me the same thing telling me he's boss and my son has to stay there It doesn't work like that we got up and left. If you want your children to be scared of sensei jason and get threatened with physical absuse then it's a brilliant club for you. If you want your children to be taught by children then it's perfect. Karate is suppose to be fun for the kids. The other people in the club are fantastic just the main man himself. He didn't deserve anymore of my money because my kids didn't enjoy it with him they was scared of him and it shouldn't be like that. My youngest decided half through he didnt want to do it he was 6 i constantly had jason telling me that he wanted to speak to my son because he should be doing it and he will make him do it well that chat never happened. 2 of my childred have asd and adhd and i was told no they dont they are fine its just a label he doesnt believe in it. You will notice how many times money actually gets mentioned its all he is in it for! If you manage to go to a club without him present then your buzzing. My kids go to a fantastic karate club now and well respected and actually ask for more days of karate! Respond from their reply: what a load of bull that has just spouted from your keyboard! I can not get in touch with you directly as you have blocked me on all social media platforms. I have no reason to make a false review people will find out for themselves how your children are treated by sensei jason.

My Son wasn’t the most confident when starting the after school club with just his peers but after taking part in the session’s he decided to start the academy. His confidence in the past few years has changed a lot and has learnt some valid life lessons as well as protection for himself. The Sensi’s are all approachable for both us as parents and the children.

My son has been with Ippon Karate Academy and training for 7 years now. He has loved it from the time he started . He has gained discipline and confidence and many friends. He will continue as long as he can .

My son started at around 8 years ago and has grown from a boy to a man and not mixed a day of practice average 3 days. Week at different clubs walkden , Bolton , Radcliffe. If has a parent you are not honest with yourself then the club isn’t for you but if you want the best for your children then you are in the right place. It takes not just a parent to train a child but an entire community. My daughter has also recently started and I can start to see the confidence and a bit of respect. Martial art is not just about fitness or fight it’s involved respect, discipline, safety, community and you gaining an extra family you can call your own. Sensei Jason might come has a tough guy but he has the nothing but the best of the children at heart.

My daughter has been attending this club for over the years. She gained a lot of friends, confidence, skills, knowledge and learned how to defend herself when bad situation occurs. Loves and enjoys to attend every session. Trained to be a proper karate kid. Competing nationally and internationally.
The club is like a family to us. Sensei has been very supportive especially now that my daughter has been preparing for her GCSEs.
Everyone has their own experience and opinion but to ours its the best thing happened to our daughter that she joined Ippon. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to be trained.

Any poor reviews are more than likely fictitious. Ipon Karate are a great club, they instill confidence, as well as respect.
I wouldn’t send my son anywhere else.

My Son joined at age 5 keen to join in but very much struggled with confidence. Under Sensei Jason's guidance now at 9 years old he is thriving. His confidence has grown in all areas, including School & while playing other sports.
He has now gained his brown belt recently competed in a National competition winning a bronze medal.
He trains across both Radcliffe Under Sensei Phil & Breightmet with Sensei Jason & with the Senior Squad which includes children who represent England! All of this is included in 1 monthly price with unlimited training.

The highlight of the calendar is when Sensei Junior Lefevre visits, a world-renowned karateka whose mastery in kumite and kata brings unparalleled instruction to students. His affiliation shows the level the club operates.

Sensei Jason is truly one of the best instructors you could ask for—his expertise, dedication, and the respect he earns from the students is remarkable. Sensei Dan and Alex are also fantastic; the entire team creates a supportive and disciplined environment where kids can thrive.

The atmosphere is both friendly and focused—children not only learn valuable self-defense skills but also build strong friendships and confidence along the way. The discipline and teamwork they foster is incredible to see.

The best training on the world.

My two boys have been attending walkden club for over seven years and their other clubs in swinton and Bolton. My second child has complex learning and health needs, and Jason has not just been an instructor to my children but also a friend at times of difficulty. The club has taught my children how to self defend, but also to follow rules. Jason has karate rules which everyone is expected to abide by, including parents, by ensuring they are involved in their child's karate journey, and Jason does this by asking parents to join in a class now and again, which is more a ln exercise class. This I welcome as it helps us feel involved in our children's karate journey. Jason has kept the monthly sub payments at the same price since my children started, and in the society we live in, this says alot. Ippon karate are family to us, not just the instructors, but also the students, because they all help one another.

My 16 year old son has attended Ippon Karate academy for 12 years, training at the various clubs and classes that are available throughout Manchester. He has learnt many things over these years and made lots of great friendships, had opportunities to travel to Europe and train with the best in the business. Sensei Jason is an excellent teacher and has taught my son not just karate but how to be a good respectful person.

Ive been training with ippon karate for about 12 years now. Ive come to meet people from all walks of life and it has a great family spirit in the club. Over the years I've got to train with some of the best in the business. This training has helped me with my fitness and helped me in my everyday life. I would recommend to anyone who is thinking of getting fit and learning to true art of self discipline
