Japan Craft レビュー 

I've occasionally bought Gunpla model kits from Japan Craft, both from the website and their physical store in Camden. They have a decent selection, and their website lays things out conveniently (even if I feel tempted to be picky and point out that they have a tendency to label 1/100 Full Mechanics kits as Master Grade kits even though they're two different kinds of Gunpla).

However, it is worth mentioning alongside more minor issues I have (such as the occasional slowness of their website or an admittedly vague memory I have of having to chase them up on a preorder a while ago) that their prices tend to be noticeably higher than most others in the country selling Gunpla, and considering the feedback I got when requesting that they be added to the list of UK Gunpla stores on the Gunpla subreddit, they were quick to add a caveat about their prices.

It feels like it comes with the territory when they're located in such a hotspot as Camden Market, so as far as Gunpla is concerned, I would recommend Japan Craft if they are the only ones in the country who happen to have a specific kit in stock. If you're simply browsing around for something that looks cool, be sure that Japan Craft are the only ones who have it.

Definitely worth a look at the physical store if you happen to be visiting Camden, I'll admit.

Two terrible experiences

Had two bad experiences with this company, one through their online store and one at their store in Camden.
I preordered a figure (I believe the release date was around September). After finding out through the figures manufacturers that the figure was delayed I expected to hear from JapanCraft to notify me that my order would be delayed. I never received anything.
After the figure had been released I STILL heard nothing about my preorder. After multiple unanswered emails I got PayPal involved to get my money back as I clearly wasn’t getting my figure from them.
Got a snarky response back from JapanCraft but did get my refund. Managed to find the figure somewhere much cheaper, and it arrived very quickly.

The second experience was in their larger Camden store. I went into the store not long after they’d opened and was browsing the Manga and figures. I originally planned to get myself a few books then do some Christmas/ Birthday present shopping for friends. I browsed for less then 10-15 minutes before choosing a few items and went to pay. The two men behind the counter were deep in conversation and I didn’t want to interrupt, so I looked at figures close to the till. Eventually one of the males noticed I had some items in my hands and said “oh you’ve FINALLY made a decision” in a very sarcastic tone. I was shocked by this, and as someone with severe social anxiety I felt really uncomfortable. I paid for my items and quickly left. I’ll never be returning to the store. The staff were rude and unprofessional, clearly didn’t care about their customers either.
I’d previously heard bad things about JapanCraft, how they sold bootlegged items and their price mark up was ridiculous. But I figured I’d make my own judgements.
When In the store I did notice several bootleg figures. But anime Merch can be hard to come by so…if you buy it that’s your choice. And yes some of the pricing was ridiculous. (£60 for prize figures you can get for £15 if you look online)
Overall not a company I will ever recommend to anyone. There are a lot of better places to shop for anime merch.

Ordered a JiJi plush from online shop and when it arrived it did not match what I had ordered, a much inferior product with defects. I arranged a return and a label was sent to me via email, however when I attempted to post it at the post office was told it was an invalid label, I thereafter contacted customer services again and was told that they wouldn’t send me another label and I should post it at my own expense but they would not guarantee a refund of postage. After nearly a month of going back and forth I am still trying to get the item sent back. My emails are ignored and they ghost my messages. Not very professional at all, not very trustworthy either. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I bought some food and drink from their website, all of the food came but the drinks didn’t. i emailed them to ask if they are going to come in a separate parcel, if not i want my money back for the two drinks i bought, however they never came back to me. the food that i got though, was all good.

I went to their store in Camden yesterday and the two staff members that were there were the kindest people ever. They were genuinely so excited and happy and it was awesome. I didn’t catch their names but the lady and the man that were there made my experience so welcoming and lovely. The man gave me lots of great information about a manga series I’m collected, completely unprompted! Usually I feel awkward talking to staff members but these two were so lovely and comforting. The store itself has so much variety of manga and figurines and they had tons of posters too and it was so awesome. I’m sad I don’t live in London so I could go there regularly but I’m also very glad they have a website!

i have used this company in the past to buy a figure, and recently returned to buy several, plus manga and a art book.
i was very impressed and with the fast shipping and was very happy with what i bought.
the manga and artbook was delivered in clear plastic to keep it fresh, something i have never seen amazon do for their new books, and everything was packed very well in shipping.

i will be returning here again, thank you for excellent service.

A little bit on the pricey side for certain products, however their range is brilliant and they have super fast delivery!

I ordered two figurines one of them was set for release in November.
Knowing Japan it was probably released in late November, mid December i did contact them about it if my order had been deleted and they did answer that they had a server mishap which is always welcome.
But here is the kicker now almost through January i would have gotten the package by now Royal Mail's tracking service is useless and they have not responded to any of my messages, I could accept them not responding during the first week and a half into January but this is ridiculous.
To be completely honest i was looking forward to use their services again but with this complete lack of customer service i can not recommend them to anyone.
Also if somebody says "royal mail probably lost your package" if so they should have contacted me thanks and goodbye

Japan Craft has an amazing range of Japanese products, from traditional art prints and pottery to anime models and manga.
Very good delivery times as well.
Highly recommended for anyone with a love of Japanese culture and products.
