Should have written this review sooner but our experience with the Norfolk franchise of Lakeland Verandahs was so traumatizing that we were glad when it was over and didn't have to think about it anymore. It started in October 2021 and was finally resolved in December 2022.
The basis for a good decking is the foundation and the guys did not make a sturdy, level foundation to begin with. Some of the legs supporting the decking were teetering on bits of brick & in places not supported at all. Once installed it was not level, it creaked & bounced as you walked on it and edging trims kept falling off.
Apart from the bad installation was the product itself. I had explained that I wanted a deck that would stand up to dogs running on it, which I was assured this decking product would do. However when I pointed out the many scratches on the deck after installation, I was told it was from dog claws & not their fault!!! Someone from head office came down & also said they wouldn't allow dogs on it or children playing with toys that could easily scratch it. Garden furniture also scratched the product.
We also felt the franchise guys did not show us respect or listen to our views. They did not work full days & spent a lot of time sitting in the van.
Thankfully we paid for everything using their recommended finance company as this gave us extra protection and after a long & drawn out dispute which was handled on my behalf by my son, we were able to get the deck removed & our money refunded. This was an emotionally draining experience I hope nobody else has to go through.

Beware. I contacted Lakeland Verandahs and a representative called with brochures and business cards stating Lakeland Verandahs and offering a 10 year guarantee on all works. At no time did I realise I was not dealing with Lakeland Verandahs but an agent. Your guarantee is NOT with Lakeland Verandahs but the the person who does the job. We had a balustrade fitted this year. The work was started in May but not completed until September with various excuses being made for the work not being completed, although it actually only took two days to do the work. I contacted Lakeland Verandahs about the guarantee after the work was finished and was told it was not with them but with the person who had carried out the work. The person who did the work goes under the name Eden Rejuvenators Trading As Lakeland Verandahs but Lakeland Verandahs say if I have any problems it is nothing to do with them, so don't be fooled into thinking you are dealing with Lakeland Verandahs and their fancy brochures offering you a 10 year guarantee.

I have just had 2 areas in my garden transformed with composite decking.
Mark came out to see me, we discussed what I wanted , and 3 weeks later, James arrived and did the whole lot on his own in 2 days .
It looks amazing , James was brilliant, the workmanship is perfect, everywhere was left tidy .it has truly transformed my garden , I would highly recommend this company 👌

We booked our deck through Lakeland Verandahs and they sent a representative with namecards and email addresses saying Lakeland Verandahs. We organised a contract for decking on our flat roof. However, they did not do a survey and after the decking was laid the roof was leaking because they had used wood pieces instead of pedestals. The balustrades were also unsafe. When we asked for resolution, Lakeland Verandahs said in the fine print that our contract was with their franchisee and not with them. The franchisee says he will have to go bankrupt if we sue. These guys are scam artists; if the job goes wrong rather than resolve the situation, they have their 'franchisee' go bankrupt and start over again.

We had Ian McGeary lay our decking in Hockley Essex, our experience was fab, Ian came and quoted when he said he would, he turned up on the day promised and worked from early morning to late evening to finish our decking, although only a small area, due to the shape of our garden and the shape we wanted our decking (with lights all aligned too) this was a tricky job but Ian done it fantastically and we are really picky people who cannot stand one little thing off kilter! (we put pictures on the company Facebook page if you want to see what he did). We were so worried after booking as you never know when there are cowboys turning up so putting this review as it may help someone else feel comfortable that booking with Ian is a safe bet!!!

We had our original decking fitted a few years ago and was very pleased. We decided to have it extended so contacted them again. The guys worked hard and in the rain to give us a super extended decking area. Nothing is too much trouble. Now to enjoy it through the summer.

I needed a sturdy fence to prevent my dogs visiting my neighbours. We had a very old wooden fence and a hedge in place, but they were managing to break through (the dogs, not the neighbours). Colin has been so helpful. Good communication. I like that the material used is from recycled plastic. My neighbours are very happy with the fence, particularly as it doesn't require painting. Only issue was the gate (my neighbours have right of way across my property) which is shorter that the fence and made of wood. Other company's sell composite panels, but this is the only one I've found that fit them and they removed the bits of hedge I hadn't managed to. Service also very prompt. I mentioned to Colin that I was going to try to get a composite gate at some point, but the gate I was looking at was quite expensive - I didn't expect him to do anything but he's offered to look at making a cheaper gate that will match what is in place - not expected, but much appretiated.

A year on and the trim is falling off in two places
I have contacted Lakeland Verandahs in early August and had no reply contacted them again 18th nothing
Contacted again 6th September and was asked to send pictures via what’s app which I did and was told it would be passed on to the service team
It’s October now and still nothing no one’s contacted me to repair this
Disappointing after care team and service.

All done and dusted and we’re very happy. Can’t deny there were a few communication issues from sales to office to installers somewhere along the line and I’d recommend running through the installation when the installers come to do their work before they start. They’re such an easy company to deal with and, imho, the true test of a company is how they handle problems if they arise. In this respect I give them 10/10 and why I’ve given them five stars. Sales are pleasant, helpful and aren’t pushy with honest pricing; no double quotes and game playing. We wanted the uPVC option and, after visiting various caravan parks to hear their views stuck with this option and decided to pay the premium. The installers were truly easy to work with, clean and tidy and have left us with an excellent deck. We’re really happy and heartily recommend them to others. A company trying to do the right thing in an uncomplicated way.
